Total Page Views actually lags behind the "real" number as it goes up by increments of a minimum time for the number to change. In short, the actual number of page views doesn't go up as steadily as the counter seems to imply but is higher than the number shown.
Usually refreshing the page will fix that up. That is until the counter starts to lag behind again and the page needing to be refreshed again to keep up with the current numbers.

It's just page views and not unique visitors, but 1M in 6 days is still insane for a blog about ponies.
No offense to Kloudmutt or Max, but if you're thinking of making a banner from that pic of Max in lingerie, seriously, please don't. The site already has a bad reputation amongst a large part of the fandom thanks to the last time those showed up, and although it's largely undeserved, it's also understandable.
This place has started to get back in a lot of people's good graces, but if you'll lose a lot of that good will if you do.
