• Otakon Brony Meetup

Looks like someone over on ponychan is organizing a Brony Meetup for people at Otakon!  They usually have a pretty big 4chan following, so I wouldn't be surprised if a bunch of people from the site will be there.

Also he/she is offering free magnets and stickers, which is always fun.

The convention is held from July 29-31 at the Baltimore Convention center.

You can find more information below!

    1. First Portland, now Baltimore. When will Atlanta get a meetup? I'd be willing to drive the five hours for one.

    5. Otacon?

      Snake?

      Otacon. I've infiltrated the base.

Okay, what you'll have to do is make your way through the lower corridors to the main computer. There, you'll be able to upload the virus and stop these terrorists from holding Season 2 of My Little Pony Hostage.

Got it... Wait, "My Little Pony?" That's what this mission is about?

      C'Mon, Snake, It's a good show!

Yeah, but I thought this was to stop some terrorists from Launching another Metal Gear! How are Ponies more important than that?!

Can you think of anything more important than saving the bonds of Friendship, Snake?

Well, Otakon is great in the sense of, it's not just anime. There's TONS of non-anime stuff there, in fact, Otakon is really just a Convention of STUFF. I don't think Legend of Zelda or Halo is anime, yet those are pretty popular there. It's actually really fun.

    7. Anyone going must wear MLP shirts, MUST.
Even though I can't go, opposite side of the country and all...

I would give anything to be able to go to a Stuff Convention and see a bunch of guys walking around in Derpy shirts.

Well that's a really good thing for bronies like me who live on the opposite side of califoruneuh.
      I hope I get to attend. =0

    10. Well I'll be going, but what'll happen once we all meetup?

If that's what you want to do. It's more just to make some friends, hang out, go off, whatever. The entire group doesn't have to stay with each other the entire time.

    15. Hrmmm maybe I should work on planning a meet up for ACEN in Chicago.

      ReplyDelete
    16. Maybe people in Hawaii should do a Brony Meet up at our local Kawaii Kon...Otherwise most of us island folk are stuck never meeting other bronies.

    17. We need something down by Florida, I mean seriously, on the Big Damn Poll we were No.4 in brony population.

    18. Baltimore.

      Damn.

Well at least Portland is only a 7 hour drive.

    19. No, no, we must have one in an alternative pony dimension. Our powers of friendship will manifest themselves in creating and maintaining this dimension, along with teleporting ourselves there. Once there, we shall be 2D animated ponies.

In short, smoke a bunch of weed and pretend we met one another.

    21. I'm actually pretty glad this is going down. Makes me feel less bad for doing a thing on the west coast.

    22. Unless you are actually already planning to got to Otakon, don't bother with the meet up. Its going to cost you a lot to get into the convention, get room, gas, and all. If you don't stay at one of the hotels around the convention center you're going to have a hell of a drive downtown with the rudest aggressive drivers you can find and will have to pay a lot to park.

    25. I go to Otakon every single year, and it will be now 20% cooler with PONIES! Hopefully it will negate the annoying kids and the Hetalia fantards.

    26. "Otacon... what the hell?!"

Ok, now that I got that out of my system...
      YAY FREE MAGNETS!
Only... on the other side of the globe...
      Godamnit!

All the awesome stuff happens in America! Nothing ever happens here in Austria, this nerd-hating and geek-forsaken country!
Why did we move to Austria again? Oh, right, so paying for school...

    27. Hmm, I might end up going this year too.
