And everytime I say rock, the song "Party Rock Anthem" by LMFAO comes to mind. And now it's stuck in my head again! I shall use these pony rock songs to drive it out!

Ah man, I was hoping it would be 'rock' rock, not metal-based rock. The genre's been placed into a stereotype that is now played out way too often. What happened to Led Zeppelin style rock, and Jefferson Airplane style. *Sigh* Excuse me while I cool down...

That riff is taken from another song and not original work, so i don't see clear proof of them being capable of writing stuff within that style, but feel free to point some out if their is any that I missed, because I honestly do wish I'm wrong and that there is hope for real rock out there.

Sweet. I've tried to get into the pony music stuff, but most of it is electronic, (which I think is boring) and all I listen to is rock. I've got high hopes that I'll finally find some pony music I like. :)
