I now have the strangest feeling that someone will write a derpy/trixie story now.

Whelp, the net.god ate my first comment, so here's the short, short version: I really liked it - taking Trixie down a peg or two allowed her to learn what's really important in showponyship. Well done.

I don't see this as shipping, per se. And this was pretty good. I like most takes on Derpy, and this one was interesting.
I like this story a lot,but I'm sure I've read this before on here...

All I can imagine is Derpy with the most animu-manly face, in tears, saying "My only love... is muffins..."
This is a most excellent story. It portrays some values I really think are important...
First: "Sometimes, the best way to help yourself is to help someone else."
Second: "One of the finest things one can do is to make someone smile."
That was really cute =)
