I was thinking: with the ability of instantly sending mail from on place to another, wouldn't that render the postal system useless? Maybe that's just that special thing about Spike or, canon-wise, that route exclusively sends and receives mail from Princess Celestia?
@Zarkanorf I figure that Equestria is stuck in 1975 and dragons are like fax machines; a rapid alternative to regular mail, but only royalty can afford to keep them on staff :-)
Now this is a type of fanart I love. It fits in-universe very well, and more or less is exactly the same type of content quality I'd expect from the show itself. I'm definitely checking out that artist when I get back home.

I am sure that if he starts to charge a cupcake by letter either some will stop to use it or he will get fatter soon.
