Help Making a Video Game
MoonLight is a game meant to be as a form of “tribute” to not only Lauren Faust’s work on the show My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic before her departure, but also as a throwback to classic video games, such as Super Mario 64, Mega Man titles, and so on. As of now, it is set to be a 2.5D (3D environments, but 2D gameplay and characters) action-adventure platformer, with emphasis on exploration, reflex, player intelligence (puzzle solving and the like), excellent (hopefully) storytelling and, overall, presenting a fun and welcoming experience on the surface, yet being quite challenging and hard to master.
The story follows two teenage siblings, Moonswirl, the unicorn colt, and Emberlight, the pegasus mare, who share a powerful bond that allows them to both use magic. The kingdom has been taken over by a mysterious, all powerful alicorn named Eclipse, and the two siblings must find a way to possibly restore peace and freedom to the land, while at the same time searching for their mother, trying to grow up in the changed world, helping the Main Six rediscover their friendship, and discovering the mysteries of it all. Various villains and characters return from the past, to make the lives of Equestria miserable, or to become it’s last hope in this new, changing world.
