Wireframe Pony Sculpture
We have had ponies made out of pipecleaners, felt, paper, and pretty much everything else non-lethal you can think of, so why not add another one to the list! This is a wireframe pony contructed by an artist named David Deuchar at Indiana University. Apparently something like that takes fourty hours of work! I have to admit, I didn't even know this medium existed outside of the 3D modeling in the virtual world.
Now we need to make a giant one and convert it into a bridge! Wouldn't that be neat..?

sorry
Can't say i've seen these before......TOP THAT
@DashieBro for what?
First
Cool, but which pony is it supposed to be?
I think that one of the only things that could possibly top this is a pony made out of a building.
@Bombedrumbum It was a joke for Wolveon
This wireframe requires... a SHRUBBERY
@MyBoyJ I think that it's Rarity, but I can't quite be sure.....
@DashieBro ah, I see
@Echo Nf away with thee! Ni! Ni! Ni!
@MyBoyJ I think it looks like is Trixie
Would live to see it paper machèd or something.
@MyBoyJ
My guess is Fluttershy
@Bombedrumbum
I thought Rarity at first too, but I don't see a horn.
@Ismaldi4ever Yeah, that would be 20% cooler
@MyBoyJ But Rarity's hair is brushed down on both sides, not just one
The top picture definitely is Rarity by the hairstyle.
Hey, forty hours of worlk is nothing to scoff at, and a horn might have taken longer....
Hi BOMB!
So we need a pony wireframe sculpture that Transforms into a bridge?
Pony Bridge Transformers are clearly the wave of the future. I'll take twelve!
Now i want to make something out of a lethal medium
I feel like using a Team Fortress 2 reference...
naw, I gotta sleep.
@thegreatandpowerfulchalupa
Asbestos pony sculptures!!!
@thegreatandpowerfulchalupa
You could try sculpting a pony out of Semtex. That would really be a blast.
@11Bolts
>non lethal mediums
>hi BOMB
>....idea
I have a feeling it might be a background character or an OC.
Or maybe just a generic "pony".
In any case, it is still very impressive.
“I didn't even know this medium existed outside of the 3D modeling in the virtual world. ”
Um, well, this is the medium from which the word “wireframe” originally came, after all—frames, made of, well, wire.
Now I understand why older folk face-palm when younger folk suddenly discover that the world existed a while ago and has a history. But then, I suppose I qualify as “older folk” now, so I guess it’s my turn to do it.
I am thinking that it can either be used for a hollow sculpture or a topary, Id like to see Pony Topary
@Bombedrumbum
Confound you comment box! why do you keep poofing!
I was wondering why the other one only had 2 comments...
You didn't know this existed outside of the 3D modeling world? You didn't know about wire frame sculptures, Seth? That's silly. :P
It looks pretty good though for the skeleton. Now it needs a body over it.
The comments derped?
This is actually pretty impressive, and loving the bridge idea Seth ;)
Wow! IU, as in the Bloomington campus? Sweet! There is a brony within 30 miles of me. Hah! Just made my day. :)
Needs more Christmas lights. Can you imagine having this out in your front lawn come Christmas time? I'D DO IT!
