Wow! What a way to kick-start three months of pony! This was truly an awesome remix. Hey Ocean is awesome enough on its own merits. But you just can't ignore the simple fact that the voice behind Rainbow/AJ is in it! Even more awesome!

Yeah, I actually still prefer the acoustic version the very best -- even over Hey Ocean's! official studio release. That being said, this is a pretty good remix. I don't think it was quite as imaginative as his other works though. Maybe I've come to expect too much from him because he's usually SO fantastic. (that's supposed to be a compliment I swear!) Still it's a nice listen!

The remix isn't about pony.
The original song isn't about pony.
The singer may be the VA for pony characters, but the lyrics and singing voice is not related to those characters, nor is it inspired by the show.
Care to enlighten me? All I see is a popular artist getting featured with a dedicated post with a non-pony song, on a pony website, while many relatively unknown brony musicians get lumped into a combined post or don't get featured at all, despite actually making songs inspired by the show.

Alex really messed up the key of Ashleigh's voice and the whole thing sounds too monotone. But then, having a musical ear I guess this stuff just sticks out like a sore thumb.
Really should have left this one alone, or done it very differently.

Pretty good song. Its probably gonna grow on me over time like most of Alex's stuff does.
And its Seth's blog. He can post whatever he feels like.
Though Party with Pinkie and 20% Cooler are better, this is still a fine song, and Alex S. definitely proved to me that pretty much everything he makes is worth listening to.

From what I gather, Alex S is pretty unique amoung brony remixes in that he uses no presets, all the sounds he uses he made himself.
As for this song, its not bad, pretty good mix actually. Only problem is by stepping outside of the pony songs he is really the "big fish leaving the small pond to become a small fish in a big ocean". There are hundreds of not thousands of professional remixers that work on pop songs like this. I see nothing special about this remix that makes it stand out against the 1000s of other random pop song remixes out there : |

I completely agree. I'd like to see musicians like Derpidety getting his own dedicated posts, but alas that does not happen. I don't see how this warrants it's own post at all, it's not even that good of a remix.

I never heard any other version so this is pure awesome to me. I usually don't like remixes so that's saying something to the merit of this remix. Good job.
