Nanaki isn't a pony in this picture. Also, there are no pegasus in this group. I was sure that Cid or Vincent Valentine would be one.

It is not a pegasus. It is a winged unicorn like Celestia or Luna. That are a big different with a living goddess and a pegasus. I doubt that a lowly pegasus could hold as much terrifying above all if he only get a wing. :p
For all we know there are several pegasi in the group, their wings just hidden under their clothing.

P.S Personal headcanon says Vincent is a pegasus, but his Flowy Red Cloak is a pretty defining design element and his wings are hidden and shut up I'm lazy. Also, Cloud is probably hiding a horn under his incredibly silly hair. /artist commentary
