From the fact that it's Donna with the Doctor, I know you're trying to go with Tennant, but this Doctor comes off as a mixture of some of the early Doctors and the 11th Doctor, not Tennant.
ReplyDeleteNot the best writing I've seen, due to it's meandering through the story, but it definitely has potential, especially if the Equestrian version of the Doctor suddenly turns up trying to fix the same problem.
I could write a Doctor Who fan fiction from only reading Doctor Who fan fiction and knowing absolutely nothing about the show except the stuff I pick up from general fan works.

Hey, author here - I'm going to try and NOT follow the same plot of, for example, the first episode with Matt Smith. Trying to go in a new direction here.
ReplyDeleteNot exactly sure -WHY- I decided to include Donna, I just felt like I wanted to get a companion with The Doctor and donna was the first thought to spring to mind.
I probably shouldn't be writing stories, I think it's pretty obvious I'm not cut out for them - I find 3D modeling far more exhilarating. :p
So I'm probably going to try and wrap this up quickly. (But I'm not gonna write it quickly! Probably just gonna be a 3 chapter thingy, short is all)
Well, yes, as they said earlier. The characters do feel quite a bit off. Like, as pointed earlier, the Doctor. And why would Twilight even go find the others for this and especially bring Sweetie Belle after promising to bring only the main group?
ReplyDeleteBut! While the writing wasn't as good as many other fics here it certainly wasn't terrible. I'm going to keep waiting for the next parts. And please, don't rush making them. ^^
I've personally found it a bit odd that people go with the "crack's in space" storylines with these when the actual Doctor Who series had only one of those. (Not sure about classics though.)

ReplyDeleteI have to say I burst into Laughter when I saw the Title for the next Chapter.
Hmmm... honestly, the Doctor doesn't seem consistent to me. At times, he acts like 10, but you mention him being played by Matt Smith, so that's 11. Plus, there's Donna, which doesn't really fit in with the show's timeline.
ReplyDeleteAlso, little nit-pick here... for the show's youtube entrance, why did you put it down as "Matt Smith," and "Twilight Sparkle?" Wouldn't it make more sense to have it as "Matt Smith," and "Tara Strong (Twilight's Voice Actor)?"

I found the story entertaining, but I've never really been picky or critical when it comes to these things.
The chapter titles. Splitting it into three parts. I see what you did there. Please don't tell me you're gonna end this with a "WHAT HAPPENS NEXT? YOU DECIDE" ending.
ReplyDeleteseeing as of how the author hasn't put up a new chapter in months (or hasn't submitted it), should we assume the story isn't going to be written?
