Show Song Instrumental Cover: Lightning Collector - Let's Have a Battle (Of the Bands) (Covering Daniel Ingram) [Garage Rock]
by MakenshiLightning Collector is on a roll, and this time he treats us to a very rocking and blissful cover of the classic song Let's Have a Battle (Of the Bands) from the Dazzlings! The cover starts softly, then progresses into more melodic and rhythmic bliss that rock fans will appreciate, and then amps up the game with heavy guitar riffs that bring the Dazzlings their due power and intensity of their sound! More riffs come for the last part of the cover, and overall it feels so good to rock out to that reimagined version of the Dazzlings' hit!

A Season 6 DVD for MLP is finally making its way over to Europe, or more specifically Amazon's UK branch. This joins season 5 that appeared a while back. Both are a ways off, but only a few months apart in release date with the 5th dropping in March and the 6th in May. Hopefully the rest appear as the year goes on.
Go pick it up over here for pre-order.
Thanks to Astral Phoenix for the heads up.

Toy Fair 2019 is right around the corner over in February, and with it comes the next flood of this year's pony merchandise. As always, we will be bringing on the galleries. Last year introduced the Cutie Mark Crew and a few new EG mini things. This year could be anything.
Considering those incredible prototypes popped up a while back, I'm hoping for something of that level of quality.
What would you like to see? What character needs more love, or concept would make hasbro bank while making you a happy collector?

For those of you collecting the Japanese Translation of the IDW Comics, the My Little Pony: The Movie Prequel Trade Paperback has officially been released in Japan! (Order here from Amazon Japan)
While the cover for this volume uses the films, marketing assets, don't let that fool you into thinking a ton of effort was put into making this volume stand out from the previous comic collections put out by Phase 6. They really made this volume live up to the "Special Edition" part of the title.
To start, this edition collects not only the 4 issue My Little Pony: The Movie Prequel comic mini-series (by Ted Anderson, Andy Price, and Heather Breckel) but also collects My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic issues #67 and #68 (by Jeremy Whitley, Andy Price, and Heather Breckel). Those issues contain the Two Part "Tempest's Tale" follow-up comic starring Tempest Shadow as she adjusts to life after the Storm King. This is the first time that story has been published internationally!
Second, when My Little Pony The Movie was released in Japan, a Japanese Original Language Comic was created and published by Phase 6. This manga tells the story of what the Mane 6 were up to right before the events of the movie.
If that isn't enough to entice everyone in the world to buy this comic (Order here from Amazon Japan) then this last point absolutely should. Unlike its American counterpart from IDW Publishing, this trade paperback collection is published as a full sized comic.
Does all of them above make it the best version of the My Little Pony: The Movie Prequel Trade Paperback? Yes, yes it does. (Order here from Amazon Japan)

BlueBrony has made such emotional songs based on MLP characters such as the Tempest-themed See the World or the Terramar-themed In Between, and his new release is a creative collab with wonderboy PegasYs that defies conventions to create a unique experience of much style and groove! PegasYs, in his words, "started to make it about Bon Bon about halfway through, mostly based on that vocal sample, kinda like a spy fight scene sort of thing", while BlueBrony made such lovely pony visuals in the video! This Jelly Roll is a real treat!

[Slice of Life]
Author: Nyronus
Description: Cheerilee has, by and large, been detached from the events at the School of Friendship. She heard the rumors about a total meltdown at the school, and even worse ones about a diplomatic incident that followed, but by and large, she's simply wished Twilight well and went about her business of helping all the young ponies of Ponyville grow. Then, one day, not too long after the School of Friendship reopened, a new young mind flies into her life.

If you're still here ponyin on and watching the show, you've survived pretty much everything so far. Fortunately the last few seasons have been pretty great. While some people exclusively do fandom-related things now, most of us still tune in every time a new episode drops.
What would be the one thing that chases you off though? That rumored fandom destroyer that drops the show right into the bin for you?

Last week saw MLP #74 hit the shelves and with it, a new comic-exclusive character. I said in that review that I'd do a comparison and now's the time!
Pixie Cut struck many similar notes to Toffee Truffle from waaaaay back in Friends Forever #1. Did one comic put forth a better presentation than the other? Yes.
That's the short review. To go a little more in-depth with some spoilers, catch the full review after the break!

Just because their US branch imploded, doesn't mean they are gone worldwide. New Fashion Squad single Equestria Girls Mini figures have appeared on the Toys R' Us website based out of Singapore, including the mane 6 and Sunset Shimmer.
You can find the listing over here. Hopefully the rest of these make it over to the states soon for those that want them. There have been a few characters spotted so far, plus Entertainment Earth.
Thanks to Ben for the heads up.

It's no secret that our ginormous pony eyes are influenced from Japanese animation. They've pretty much dominated the concept of adorably expressive eyes over the years. I'd even argue that this is one of the big reasons why they are so aesthetically pleasing, and probably a cause for this show's crazy popularity.
An interesting video has popped up over on Youtube going into the history of anime eyes, dating all the way back to some of their first occurrences in art. It's not entirely pony, but it does have a few mentions later on when it reaches Japanese influences on american animation.

Pony Rap Music: Ditherer (prod. Steryotype) - Daughters of Ornithia / Nor Gloom of Night / T.I.W.I.C. [Hip Hop]
by MakenshiYou can always count on Ditherer for cool pony rapping on various themes, and in the middle of working on multiple new albums he's treating us with 3 brand new tracks! The first track Daughters of Ornithia is about the sky pirates from the MLP movie and it's so good to get a song about them! The second track Nor Gloom of Night is such a lovely tribute to our favorite mailmare Derpy! And I'll let you figure out what the third song is about, although viewer discretion is advised! Be on the lookout for new releases from Ditherer, and in the meantime do catch up with the previous awesome albums that the musician has released on his Bandcamp if you missed them!

Starlight and Trixie running a radio show and getting called by a mysterious pony: The radio play. Get that in the first slot, followed by the second episode of Shadows of Corruption since we apparently missed that one, and finally finish with a teaser for the upcoming remembrance. Radio plays are still going strong!

We've seen loads of major landmarks and civilizations parodied in pony over the years. New York city has seen multiple episodes, Somnambula's egypt has gotten plenty of love, and we finally arrived in Asia for season 7. Where do you want to explore next? What city or place needs a bit of ponification as we go forth into the 9th season of pony?

May you be into ships or not, this new song by Etherium Apex will make you melt! With cute vocals and lyrics written with love about Starlight and Sunburst and their relationship as envisionned by the musician, Flying Away is a powerful token of passion and dedication toward the couple! As someone who thoroughly enjoyed their reunion in the show and the love they do have for each other, I'm so happy to see this new wonderful song from Etherium Apex and to be able to share it with you all!

Funko may have completely stopped that line of molded mane ponies they were selling years ago, but they might be including them in their upcoming movie. Being developed at Warner Brothers animation, it will include characters from all of their major licensed brands, from pony to Deadpool.
The image above was over on 4chan, though we can't confirm if it's legit or not. Seems pretty close tot he general idea of this thing, but there deosn't seem to be any official stuff out yet.
Thanks to Sleepysteve, Danny, Harwick, and everyone else for the heads up.

A momentous new release, One Track Mind's new EP is pure bliss and so amazing despite the modest title and "vented creative frustration". The first track Love was in bloom ventures further into the Synthwave genre all while retaining the musician's signature sound, giving a new dark direction to the vocals from the show song Love Is In Bloom as well! Track #2 Special is quite the fresh EDM banger, track #3 Bad Seed revisits the show song Babs Seed along such an emotional trip in the dark, and the last track Nostalgia (Repetitive remix) is such a surprising journey that will take you to heaven!
