Has it really been a year already? Somebody better tell time to slow down before everything just passes us by! At the very least it means that it is finally that time once again my friends: The Newbie Artist Training Grounds! We've got even more G5 under our belts since last time and I know there are folks out there just itching to get started drawing in this year's event. So with that, are you all ready to take part in one of EqD's oldest events and take your shot at drawing your own ponies or improving your already burgeoning skills? I know I am excited to see the results and will be cheering you all on along the way as I believe in each and every one of you!
Of course, the NATG would not be here without a very important person. I want to give a big shoutout to the founder of the NATG,
Phoe, who started the NATG way back when and took me on as a helper back when the event was young. The NATG would more than likely have never been or, at least, not in the same form we see today without her inspiration and diligence. Go give her a visit and some love at the link above!
Now, without further ado, onto the very first prompt for the NATG, an oldie we start every new training grounds with: Draw a pony standing / Draw a pony frozen in time.
You can find the compiler you'll be submitting your drawings to here! If you need some tips on drawing, check out our
Tutorial Codex for hints and tips!
Now, as this is our first NATG post for this year,
check after the break for all the details you need for this event, including how to submit (for computer and mobile), some commonly asked questions, our schedule and more!
If the guide after the break is too confusing or not detailed enough, we have a guide written up by a past NATG participant, Lorewolf, covering in detail how to host your pictures, how to best take photos of art on paper, how to submit and more. You can find the guide here!
Important Details:
Animations do not animate when sent through the compiler! Include some text with your submitted animation that people should follow your links to the source to see the animation in full.
If you are late submitting and the submitter is closed, don't just throw your pic into the next day's submitter. Wait for a Makeup Day to submit!
Max Image Resolution is 2000x2000! Resize your pictures to make sure they are the appropriate size, any image software should be able to help you.
