I'm starting to think someone over at Hot Topic likes a certain obnoxious blue unicorn. The 12th comic of the series gets a bit of Trixie Vs. Twilight love over at Hot Topic. Expect this one on the 30th of this month! Find it over here.
Thanks to 621Chopsuey for the heads up. -
Time to commandeer the plushie compilation from Calpain for an important PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT.
I'm sensing an extreme lack of bat ponies here on EQD lately. Why is this? What can we do to fix it? Why I'll tell you what we can do to fix it! Take all that mane 6 pony love and funnel it over to bat ponies for a bit! Over time, we should see an increase in output of this type of plushie right here. What does an increased output do? It's pretty simple really. If enough plushie creators pump bat ponies out, the prices will go down, and I won't have to spend a million dollars on one. Selfish? Maybe. I'm allowed to do that though. My second favorite pony is Trixie after all. That unlocks the ability to be both obnoxious and self centered on Wednesdays.
Seriously though, this is an awesome plushie.
Anyway, get a bunch more below the break!

According to Lauren Faust, this episode was supposed to be a deliberately saddening one about losing a beloved pet. As we know, it ended up being a lot more light-hearted than that as a whole, but I think we can all agree that parts of that ending scene were pretty touching. Admit it, you cried a little. Unless you knew that Philomena was a phoenix, in which case, wow, that bird was kind of a jerk.
As far as fandom impact goes, this seems to be the episode where Celestia (and Philomena) earned (rightfully) their status as a pair of tricksters. Would you prefer the word 'trolls'? We also were given healthy doses of Twilight being the wonderful checklist-oriented control freak that she is, some much-appreciated throwbacks- quite a few actually, including a Benny Hills Yakety Sax scene, an Alice in Wonderland reference with Angel, and an assortment of classic Looney Tunes allusions- and even a glimpse at Fluttershy's Gala dress from Suited for Success. Hey, we thought. Maybe that Gala thing will actually happen this season.
Be sure to catch Fluttershy's Adventures in Killing Priceless Animals after the break.

What happens when you miss a day of art posting? EXPLOSIONS! We have a boatload of stuff this time around. It's like we are back in the past when episodes are actually airing or something. Hit it all up below the break!

Rarity!
And a new Pokemon X/Y Banner from Zelc-face! I really need to suck it up and get a 3DS so I can play this...

Over in the world of smart phone messaging, an app called Kik helps spice things up a bit, with a different way to communicate that takes it above the usual text message interface. One thing they focus on is a sticker shop, which allows you to buy sets and add them to messages, similar to advanced emoticons. Following the trend of Xbox Live avatars, Kik now has a pony section. Amazingly enough, they seem to have escaped the official vectors that usually plague these things.
Find the Android version here, and iOS over here. Thanks to everyone for sending it, and Grantrocket for the image! -
We have another bit of Enterplay news for you all as the New York Comic Con stream starts trickling in. The card shown up above will be this year's exclusive, included with the purchase of a Nightmare Moon poster at their #1664 booth, similar to Derpy with Chrysalis last year. Luckily those that aren't able to attend will have a future chance at her, so don't freak out about not being able to acquire this best pony poll dominator just yet. As for where or how, we won't know until some time in the future. Until then, NYCC people get an early Luna!
Update: They may have sent the wrong image over for this one. Apparently it's an older card. Working on figuring that out now! -

Curious about those dog tags teased a while back? Enterplay has released a tag checklist to showcase some of the available designs. It looks like just about every character is going to get some love here.
If you find yourself at New York Comic Con tomorrow, they will have these available at booth #1664. Expect both blind packs and 2 tag blisters to be available. Have fun navigating the inevitable line!

Two new listings have popped up on Amazon in regards to future book releases. While there aren't any images available yet, they do have a bit of information, along with release dates. Have some of that:
Rarity Takes Manehattan: A Panorama Sticker Storybook
(As Whatshisgame points out, this is the same style book as Cutie Mark Quest, which was based on the episode Cutie Mark Chronicles. There is a good chance this is a season 4 episode)
Release Date: June 3, 2014
Pages: 24
My Little Pony - The Mane Event (Dress Up)
Both appear to only be available on Amazon at the moment, though I'm sure they will follow the trend of everything else and hit up bookstores when they release next year.
Release Date: May 6, 2014
Pages: 24 -
I think they may run out of ways to decorate brushables if they keep going at this rate. Another odd one has popped up over on Taobao. If it's not just a Chinese custom, we can probably expect it some time next year in mass if other toy leaks over there are any indication.
Thanks to TornadoTwist for the heads up! -
