The kind of things that I love to see so much in the community, this wonderful initiative from ShobieShy pays much tribute to his beloved Starlight. Borrowing the beat from Tw3Lv3's previously released (and posted) Starlight-themed masterpice Starlight's Dream, the passionate musician is rapping about Starlight's point of view, story, feelings, and character depth, from her guilt to her gratitude about finding a new accepting home and mentor in Twilight and much more inbetween, and that with so much heart and talent, that you can feel in his voice. I got to meet ShobieShy at BronyCon and he's such an amazing and cuddly person, and his dedication to Starlight is a must-see, I'll always remember that sweater fully covered with Starlight pictures, and all the Starlight keychains and merch too! Such passion toward a character, expressed again wonderfully in this rapping performance, is definitely part of the core of our community and I'll never stop expressing my appreciation and gratitude for it, and promoting it as much as I can for other fans to see and potentially relate to. All for Her!

SDCC INTERVIEW: Bobby Curnow on the Past, Present, and Future of My Little Pony Comics
by The Illustrious Q
Almost a solid month after SDCC and I finally have a moment to post this I did with IDW My Little Pony Comic Editor Bobby Curnow at SDCC!
It has been a busy month. To put mildly.
I hope everyone likes Marvel, Teenage Mutant Turtles, me making a fool of myself, and My Little Pony, because we go over just about everything in this interview. Which you can check out for yourself after the break!

While the leaks a year or so ago already covered some ideas they had for the future of pony, it's pretty obvious that it was still pretty early on. The complete lack of any information on it yet is pretty telling there.
So, if you had the reigns, what kind of setting would you pick for My Little Pony going forward? Should we harken back to the old days and stick to a strictly fantasy setting? Or stick to G4 with it's hybrid real world/fantasy? Maybe some futuristic sci-fi would change things up enough to satisfy a new toy line?

I really can't wait to see what these four come up with in the end. Hopefully it doesn't get spoiled too hard.

Over three issues, the Cutie Mark Crusaders tried to save the Whitetail Wood. There were twists, unexpected support, and more than a little environmental preaching.
Let's take a look at the series overall. The full review resides after the break, in a meadow of spoilers.

A masterpiece of music and emotion from One Track Mind, Cakes in Cups calls back to early community classics such as Alex S.'s Party With Pinkie, or Omnipony's Return especially with that melodic part from 2:17 onwards. Pony vocal chops, nostalgic sounds, emotional melodies, and a chill outro are all part of what makes this track so special, and indubitably my favorite from the recent Summer Chords compilation album from brony label PonyChord!

We haven't had anything like this in a while have we? Take two ponies and combine them with each other. Personally, I'm finding the most joy out of turning them all into Nightmare Moon versions.
Go fuse ponies over here and show em off below! -
