Nightly Discussion #488
by Calpain
Some CMC for tonight's discussion! It's really weird to think at one point most of the fandom hated these guys. I guess over five seasons they have really latched on to people's hearts, huh?
Evening everyone! Ready for the chattering?

It looks like Nightmare Moon got hit with a bit of that poison joke Twilight ate if these new Funko prototypes are any indication. These two popped up over at the Funko Fanatic forum. If they are this far along, I wouldn't doubt a Hot Topic pre-order link very soon!
Thanks to Cheeze Doodle again for the heads up.

More Hasbro Brushables Appear - "Explore Equestria" Bead Hair Twisty-Do, and Deluxe Winged Twilight
by Sethisto
Tired of brushing manes? Time to use beads instead! A new toy revamp of the usual brushable models has axed the hair and replaced it with these strands to decorate. The "Explore Equestria" set will once again be re-releasing the mane 6 with different styles if this is any indication. They even gave Twilight new wings in the box below.
I wonder what non-mane 6 ponies will join these guys? I'm sure we will find out soon.
Thanks to James and Riccotto for the heads up!

PastaCon - The First Minute
by Calpain
I've been watching my friend Pika Petey work on this project over the years, picking away at it a little bit at time. After two years, he's ready to show off the first minute of his animation, all hand drawn with over 6,000 drawn frames!
For those of you who have been at conventions before, you might just get a laugh out of this! Conventions can be incredibly fun, but can be awkward experiences as well at times.
Check on after the break for the first minute of PastaCon! Even though it sounds like he is ready to move on to other projects, lets hope he finishes it one day!
And according to Petey:
"The entire unfinished film is about disgruntled congers summoning the Great Spaghetti Daemon from fedora hell by creating stupid drama and untagged lewd images."

The upcoming Friendship is Magic collection continues to expand it's character base, with a Gummy figure appearing over on Tabao. The person that snagged it grabbed a Fluttershy for size comparison, showing how tiny he actually is if you have ever bought a blindbag figure before.
And in other news, more images of those winged POP figures have appeared for all of you still collecting all the accessories on those figures from last year. Right now we have Rainbow Dash and Rarity variants.
Get more images of the winged pieces below!

These two really do provide a good compare contrast of one-another when they are paired up for an episode. Three Rarity episodes in a row was a bit overwhelming on the fashion side, and having Applejack anchor us to the down-to-earth farm world was a breath of fresh air.
Head on down below for a storm of art!

While not 100% Covering pony, it's still pretty relevant to the fandom as a whole. We've sort of hit a golden age in cartoons, with creators and companies picking up on the fact that people of all ages watch them, and making a quality "kids show" might just appeal to their parents and fellow adults as well.
Saberspark did a pretty interesting video on the cartoon world as a whole. Head on down below to check it out!

The first Friendship Games deleted scene is here! It's an alternate version of "What More is Out There," which now heavily features Sunset Shimmer instead of just SciTwi. More baconhair singing? Yes please!
From Sunset's lyrics it's clear she's feeling a little unsure about her place in Humanestria, and she seems to miss her magical unicorn adventures, a theme that seemed to be removed from the final version of Friendship Games.
It's also interesting how this starts drawing a parallel between Sunset and Twilight much earlier in the movie, making the finale come together a little differently. It's always neat to see these behind the scenes looks, especially when they imply the evolution of a project into what we see on screen.
Analysis aside, check out the deleted scene below the break!

As is the norm for Funko Figures, we have a prototype for an upcoming one appearing over on a collectable website. If this Chrysalis mold follows the last few leaks, we can probably expect her relatively soon.
As a side note, this one is different from the Mystery mini version.
Thanks to Cheeze Doodle for the heads up.

Early Morning Discussion #309
by CalpainIf you think getting gum in your hair is bad, how about anywhere on your body if you're a pony? Hope she doesn't have to cut the gum out...
Morning my friends! Ready for some early morning chatter?

Mentally Advanced Series: Episode -11

A new Mentally Advanced episode is out! It's really cool to see them using their own animation for these now. They get better and better with each new episode!
Get your mentally disturbed ponies after the break! Thanks to Gearhead for sending it in!
