Sorry it has been so long since the last spotlight you guys! BronyCon and then a harsh case of reality has been dragging me down as of late. Anyhow, I'm back with a whole bunch of new tumblrs to show you all today, so sit back and relax as we kick off the weekend with some hopefully new faces!
As always, if you have a tumblr you would like to share, whether it is your own or someone elses, please make sure to send it my way at calpain@equestriadaily.com or my Twitter for review and filing. Mature themed ones (PG-13) are welcome as well!

Plushies Update: Japanese, Aurora, TY Beanie Babies, Build-A-Bear Fluttershy, 4DE Fluttershy
by Sethisto
A couple of plushies have been sighted in the last few days here. Up above is a set from Japan that popped up on Futaba. The people their mentioned them releasing in December, though I didn't run into any official confirmations. Thanks to Atticon for the images.
The second is a set announced a while back from TY, the makers of Beanie Babies. These in particular were located at Newbury Comics in Burlington, MA. I haven't had anyone else report on them yet, so they might require a bit of digging to locate. Thanks to EddictedBrony for the image.
And finally, Aurora has their bagged/normal plushies popping up just about everywhere, from Toys R' Us to Claires. Quite a few are sending these in, so I figured I'd make a mention of them here. Thanks to Loretta for the image.
As an extra note, we have had mixed reports of Fluttershy heading to build-a-bear some time in November, though no official confirmation as of right now.
I don't think anything is going to beat the 4DE Fluttershy with Pre-Orders just a month away. If you guys don't completely wipe the stock out on those I'll be amazed. I'm still amazed at my Twilight Sparkle from them.

Thanks to everyone that entered! The voting for this covered 25 different people from every single layer of the pony fandom, and 5 final cakes were neck and neck near the end. Head on down below the break for the list of winners, honorable mentions, and LOADS OF CAKE!
Update: Something derped with the submitter and emails weren't recorded. If you know who did the Twilight Sparkle and Lyra cakes let us know! Or if you did them, send an email to me directly.

Toywiz has tossed up pre-orders for yet another new binder (as well as all the other card accessories), this one looking to be based off of the season 3 finale. As with the one currently in stores, it includes six cards within that form the image found below. I'm sure we are going to see loads more of these once the CCG gets ramped up. Fingers crossed that it's a blast.
Also a quick update on yesterday's coupon post. There was a derp in a few of the toys. Toywiz has fixed it up as of today! Feel free to 25% off away.
Update: A few people have pointed out that this is now available at Hot Topic stores as well.

The Comic Con Vinyl Scratch figure has popped back up over at the Hasbro Toy Shop. She clocks in at 50 bucks total, but assuming they stop selling her on this shop periodically, I'm sure she will be worth more later on down the line. Find the store page here!

The Hub's Twitter is running a MLP Town hall right now for their Fan Favorite poll. So far its overflowing with puns, with each of the ponies answering politically related questions. Head on over here to check it out!
And be sure to use#vote4ponies to join in. -
Someone over on /mlp/ has uploaded loads of images from the MLP card game for those that want something a bit more specific. Everyone from Zecora to Bill Neigh are in attendance, with a couple of new ponies to top it off. They even threw Apple Cobbler in there. Do you remember who she is? probably not. Go check them out after the break!

Ponlver over at Gencon uploaded a video showing off the Twilight Sparkle deck, as well as an in-depth look at how exactly the new card game is played. It sounds like Gencon had two test decks available for everyone to try out, so you are now privvy to about 50% of what they are doing over there! Huzzah!
Anyway, head on down below the break to check the video out.

Newbie Artist Training Grounds III - Day 1
by Calpain
Today is the day my friends! EqD is proud to present the 3rd annual Newbie Artist Training Grounds! New to the Training Grounds? Well, gather round and listen! The Training Grounds is a month long pony event to encourage those of you out there with an interest in drawing to either pick up a pen, pencil, crayon or what have you (no limit on what you can use!) and start drawing for the first time or, in the case of some others, to continue improving the skills they have! Over the course of this month you will be presented with a theme each day on what to draw and your imagination hopefully will be all that limits you. Last year was a record breaking event with thousands and thousands of pictures submitted and this year we are hoping you will all have as much fun!
So how do you go about submitting your art once you are done and what is allowed? Simple my friends! All images are accepted as long as they are a clever interpretation of the theme or of the theme itself and the images also follow EqD content rules (Light on the saucy and gory details). Once your image is done you can then submit it to our compiler. Easy as pie!
For today's submissions you have until August 17 at midnight, Pacific Daylight Time to submit your drawing(s). We'll keep the compiler up a little past this time to let those who are late for whatever reason submit, but once it is closed that theme is officially done! You'll have a limit of three submissions per day.
Now on to the good stuff: the first theme to start this bad boy off! After consulting with a team of pony scientists, we've determined it's best to start off with a simple exercise for today to get your hooves wet. Thus, draw a character staring into space or with a glazed look. That's right, I said character so feel free to draw a pony, a griffon, a Timber Wolf, or what have you. As long as it comes from FiM it's fair game!
Finally, thanks to Fetchbeer of the ATG Alumni for theme suggestions and of course to Phoe for starting this wonderful mess. Have fun everyone!
