It wouldn't be a good month if we didn't have some drama involving cartoon horses that are only slightly related to MLP now would it? Over in North Carolina, a very My Little Pony looking unicorn (as the news is putting it) has started popping up in fireworks shops. She fires sparklers out of the horn slot, and every once in a while a little rocket shoots off.
Parents and firefighters are worried that kids will think these are toys, or beginner fireworks, when they really do actually blast some pretty wicked flames out.
Head on over here if you want to see the news report!
UPDATE:
As of 7/4, Hasbro has released an official statement:
“Hasbro does not manufacture fireworks, nor licenses any of our brands to fireworks manufacturers. We are troubled by recent reports of fireworks that are said to resemble My Little Pony characters and are immediately investigating. We encourage consumers to contact their local fire departments to learn about fireworks safety to have a safe 4th of July.”
Thanks to Hugbell for the heads up.

Nightly Discussion #1488
by Armosk
What's this? A Nightly Discussion made by Armosk? And it's not even on time? Absolutely disgusting. It's the end of the world as we know it. And I feel fine.
Good evening folks. It's discussion time!

As of yesterday morning, the Equestria Daily Youtube channel has been banned. We got no warning, and the appeal was denied within an hour. Unfortunately you cannot appeal a second time. The specific reason given is:
This account has been terminated due to multiple or severe violations of YouTube's policy against spam, deceptive practices, and misleading content or other Terms of Service violations.
We are pretty stumped on why that would happen. The channel has commented on maybe 10 videos in the last 8 years, mainly just praising various content creators. There weren't any deceptive practices going on, and definitely no spam considering we posted maybe once a week during a season then no other times. Our thumbnails weren't anywhere near clickbait or misleading. Tags were all 100% about the video being posted, with simple stuff like "My Little Pony" and "Friendship is Magic".
This is not the 3-strikes-and-your-out copyright issue either. EQD had no active copyright strikes. Most videos were claimed by Hasbro, but that's par for the course in posting trailers and teasers, they claim them and pop their ads on. It has been happening for half a decade.I figured I'd give this a day to see what happened, but it's looking like things are permanent unless we can get some non-automated attention.
The real issue is the loss of all of our subscriptions. Most content creators in the fandom no longer send their videos in, as they just assume we have them subbed to post. That is all gone, so the best thing you can do to help would be to submit stuff we might miss. Animations, PMV, SFM, etc. A few people are attempting to contact trusted flaggers and the @TeamYouTube on Twitter. Hopefully we can at least get a why. Since we never received a warning for anything we did over there, we never had a chance to fix whatever cause this. It could even just be people mass flagging stuff for fun, as has happened numerous times to other channels.

Remember when this guy was revealed? It was like that edgy OC we all dreaded became canon all the sudden. Good times.
And now we have bats.

Everyone's favorite horses are back at SDCC this year! After skipping out on a My Little Pony Exclusive for SDCC 2017—for reasons I still haven't figured out—Hasbro is once again trotting out the MLP Crew for the biggest Pop Culture Event of the year!
Only this time the ponies are so totally 80s!
Romper reports The SDCC exclusive is called The My Little Pony Established 1983 Greatest Hits Set, and will feature 3 of the Mane 6 (see above for the chosen 3) characters reimagined with 80s inspired fashions!
So these are hopefully fashioned sized ponies.
Anyways, the set includes three cassette tapes (think Star Lord's Awesome Mix Volume 1) inspired collector cards, the whole set is packaged in a cardboard boombox, with the MSRP being a reasonable $20.00!
After the break, you'll be able to check out even more shots of everyone's favorite ponies!
