Nightly Roundup #857
by Calpain
We all need to relax sometimes and hence why this Roundup is a bit late tonight, heh. You can all blame Hotline Miami for taking up my time tonight. When that game sucks you in it is hard to put down!
Anyhow, a short Roundup tonight gang, check it out after the break.

So many bats. This is a little bit on the late side. I blame Twilight Sparkle. Get it below! Thanks to Sweetie Bot with the first and everyone that sent it!
-
The best tend to come last, y'know? I've got some fantastic reviews of Power Ponies below the break! The hilarious new cut from Drowning In Horseshoes, a Top 4 Yay and Neigh video from AnY Pony, and Tommy Oliver's episode follow-up Q&A session. All worth a look!
(Sethisto Update: and some ILoveKimPossibleAlot. I haven't seen Digi around today so I'm sneaking it in!)

See? New people did show up on the music scene this year. Just look at Feather here. You tumblr guys are just pessimists!
Get an awesome one from her to start it off, and a acoustic track from Cherax to finish this post off. Both below!
1.) 'Leaving Colours' Original by Feather (Vocal - Electronic)
2.) Cherax Destructor - The Rescue (Vocal - Acoustic)
-
When was the last time you saw a mix of genres like "Russian Folkloric" and "Eurobeat" in a single song? Where that earlier awesome orchestral track took a genre we have seen a boatload and ramped it up to 11/10 on the awesome scale, this one wins for being incredibly unique for the pony fandom.
Plus Trixie. I can be biased toward her once a month right? When was the last time we posted a Trixie song anyway? If an obnoxious blue pony is the biggest thing that drives you nuts about EQD, I think we are doing a pretty good job!
Anyway, get it below!

I need a header image for these. Someone do it!
The MLP CCG is in full swing, with boatloads of tournaments happening around the USA. I tossed a post up a few days ago asking for submissions of planned/annual events, and this is what I received. Expect them to go up Friday, or hit the nightly roundup if we don't get enough. Eventually we can probably expand this into a meetup map similar to this one for annual events.
If you want to submit your card shop or Meetup's tournament, please send the following to the Submit@equestriadaily.com email box:
Email subject line: Tournament
City, State, Shop Name
Address:
Time/Date:
Special Rules/Additional Information/Entry Fee, Ect:
Website/Meetup page/Facebook
Without this information, we can't really get people out there playing! Unlike music, we will not take any emails that do not include these things from this point forward. Be sure to add it all!
Anyway, get some tournaments below the break!

New wallpaper edition! Look at the detail on this thing. You guys never fail to surprise me even three years later.
Get some art below!

If you like orchestral and movie score style stuff, this is definitely not one to miss. We don't often split off instrumental tracks just due to the sheer amount of them, but the queue almost broke when I tried putting this in it! Now it just needs one of those super deep PMV's to go with it.
Now go talk about it, you music listeners need to be less anti social wow.

Seemed like only yesterday we had one of these! Welcome again to another artist spotlight where I try to keep up with a number of amazing artists out there that deserve some recognition for their work. Today we've got mainly digital artists, but they have some really amazing stuff to share. Check them out after the break!
As usual, these posts are in similar style to the Tumblr Spotlights, a group of 3-4 artists will be spotlit each entry along with a small short description along with a small selection of their artwork! In order to make this feature work though we need people to suggest artists to us so make sure to send artists you think need some exposure to calpain@equestriadaily.com. Please also include a short biography I can work with as well as what medium you work in most.
What sort of artists count? Suggestions should follow these criteria:
- No clop or extensive gore galleries as those typically violate our content guidelines. If the artist has a safe for work gallery separate from their not safe for work stuff they or their fans can submit the safe for work gallery. If there is a mix of SFW/NSFW on a gallery the decision whether or not to include them will be judged on a gallery to gallery basis.
- Don't be afraid to spotlight yourself as well as others!
- Artists of all types accepted -vector, OC, traditional, digital. As long as it is pony and of quality it has a chance of being spotlit.

As usual, Meghan McCarthy is teasing the fandom once again with this little quote found over on her Twitter page:
@dannyimusic tapped into his inner Danny Elfman for tomorrow's episode and it is sooooo good.
For those that don't recognize the name, Danny Elfman is a composer and singer for all sorts of major productions, including The Nightmare Before Christmas.
Vampire bats are getting more and more exciting. The teasers for this episode are already surprisingly dark. Is this the Nightmare Night episode we didn't have a chance to see this year?
Thanks to Andrew for sending it! -
A few days ago we posted about the possibility of a Trixie EG doll, and here she finally is. Trixie comes with a twin head guitar, along with the usual EG Stuff. I'm not a huge fan of humanizing the ponies, or the dolls, but I think I can safely say that this is the Greatest and Most Powerful of the set so far. That costume actually looks pretty good on her. They needed to throw a bigger hat into the mix though. The card version up there did it right.
Now where are my Trixie plushies and funko figures? That's where my money is going!
This one was found over here, though the English website still has her listed, albeit without an image.
Thanks to Emma for the heads up! -
I love these Pinkie Pie talking to the audience sort of comics, they are so cute and personable!
Comic time, click for full.

This year was absolutelybadnessbadass (hurr typos). We had more ups and down than a 10 year old's Rollercoaster Tycoon creation. Twilight grew wings, everyone turned into humans and invaded the big screen, animation projects became commonplace, EQD somehow weathered 9 months of no episodes without losing everyone. I'd say that's a pretty good year!
What are some of the major highlights? Galaxyart has created a video displaying some of them. Head on down below to check it out!
-
I'm going to keep using the episode title in caps lock. It fits better In my opinion!
Daniel Ingram just tweeted this little snippet of season four goodness. It sounds like we are going to get a bit of Applejack and Fluttershy singing together tomorrow. I wonder what "style" of song they will be running with? -
Two days late, but hey, I've still got the Christmas spirit charging through my veins! (...it's schnapps.) Below, we've got a fun (and strange) review of the MLP Christmas classic Hearth's Warming Eve, by ILoveKimPossibleALot, followed by a video by thelooneyturtle which posits some fun theories about Equestria's history based on the same episode. Check them both out after the break!
-
Another bats clip has popped up over on TV guide. Look at how happy Applejack is. She's totally getting an episode. Head on over here to check it out.
Thanks to Sweetie Bot for the heads up. -
Entertainment Weekly has tossed up their 30 second clip of BATS! Head on over here to check it out!
And an image too! yay images! Thanks to Stefano and everyone else for the heads up.

For the past half a year, we have slowly seen these new "Rainbow Power" figures invading stores just about everywhere. It's an entire toy line, complete with Equestria Girls and various forms of the usual Hasbro original ponies. It never really had a tie in with the show though like the Canterlot Wedding and Princess Coronation did.
This image above is from a commercial (Found below the break) advertising the toys. This is the first time as far as I know that we have seen these new designs actually animated though.
So what do you all think? Is Rainbow Power our finale this season?
Thanks to SteBrony for the heads up and video clip!

Big Mac gets all the mares, and now hes going to go to BABScon and get all the autographs too. Alright that was super cheesy. You know the drill! Get it below.
And in other news, there is a live carving event going on today at 9 AM EST. While the actual item being carved will be going toward the BABScon charity auction, the stream itself will be absorbing donations. More information can be found over here!
