Nightly Roundup #801
by Calpain
Hello comrades! I have returned from Michigan for my birthday and have arrived back safely Ohio after a wonderful weekend. Thanks for all the bday wishes, love, and art. You guys rock!
Speaking of art, my friend Ace saw me playing a little too much Papers, Please and we thought sorting mail at EqD sort of felt like this, heh. Don't worry, I won't detain you. Now please, face the scanner.
Time for news guys! Check it after the break!

Another one of those mystery Amazon listings has revealed a bit of information about itself. The "Winning Style" book now has 4 pages worth of previews. If you are curious about what it includes, hit it up below the break or check out the Amazon listing. The general idea here is your usual activity book.
Thanks to Whatshisgame for the heads up!

I really wish we had a Nightmare Night episode coming up. FiM needs to happen year round with holiday specials to satisfy my costumed pony needs.
Anyway, get some art below!

When you turn the personality dial of a character up to eleven, often what you are left with is what's called a caricature- something that only vaguely resembles the original character concept and only exemplifies their most exaggerated traits. Like salt in a cake mix, this should be done sparingly, and only to prove a point. Unless you really like a salty cake, in which case good for you, I suppose. I'm sure there's a joke in there somewhere.
This was DHX's attempt at combining a variety of common superhero tropes into a Rainbow Dash-centric episode, but we also got a glimpse at just how much of a fan of hers Scootaloo is. She literally made hats that resemble Rainbow Dash's mane. The last time I checked, I didn't see Snips and Snails wandering about with replicas of Trixie's cape and hat. Checkmate, baby- check out that three-pointer. What game are we playing?
After the break, catch Rarity: Costume Mafia.

Hmm? Oh dear, I'm on air again, aren't I? Give me a minute to tidy up. Please ignore the ominous machine behind the tarp, there's nothing interesting about it. And don't touch those blueprints! They're private. Didn't your mother tell you not to poke through a person's things?
Unbelievably rude. I expected better from you, EqD. Is it really too much to ask for a little privacy for my scheming? Tch. Some people. Why are you even here?Oh. Right. The Nightmare Night contest finalists. Let me go grab those. Meet me after the break. And for pony's sake, don't touch anything! -
LUNA in Japanese? I can only imagine how crazy she is going to sound. I admit, I've sort of stopped watching these, but I think it might be time to check one out.
Episode starts at the usual 3:30 Pacific / 7:30 JAPAN TIME. Get it below the break!
And last week's episode can be found here if you missed it.

To go along with our earlier announcement, more Rainbow Rocks dolls have appeared. The only one that hasn't been sent to us so far is Fluttershy. These are apparently all sharing the 20 dollar price tag, but you can get Rarity at K-Mart for 17 bucks if you pre-order.
Thanks to Tiffany and everyone else for sending them!

A few days ago, we posted a sticker book with the title "Rarity Takes Manehattan". Usually something like that would fall into a random merch post, but this particular series of books follows episodes, so it had a good chance of being season 4 focused. It looks like someone over at the Amazon listing department for Hasbro wasn't supposed to include a name, and the listing has since been changed to a generic My Little Pony New Episode 2014: A Panorama Sticker Storybook. I'll let you be the judge of that!
Thanks to Whatshisgame for the heads up. -
With Equestria Girls creepign into the doll market and the usual pony releases being scooped up by the masses, it's not too surprising that Hasbro's big money maker is the girls toys section. A specific quote from Yahoo finance highlights that specifically:
By category, Hasbro reported its strongest sales in the girls category — which was up 29 percent on the successful debut of My Little Pony Equestria Girls as well as the debut of Nerf Rebelle and increased sales of Furby and other My Little Pony products.
Hopefully we get more normal pony stuff once season 4 is in full swing. I do love me some molded figures. Check the full report out over here. -
Admiral Luna mares the captains canon in this Monday edition of Plushie compilation. We also have a bunch of Ponified pokemon in honor of that game I know a bunch of you are plugging away at.
Head on down below for all of them!

Way back on the 10th of September, a book was tossed up on Amazon hinting at something Firefly related on the horizon. An image of the set has finally popped up, and it's looking to be a bit older gen than we thought. I guess wishes of a G4 version of the pony will have to continue waiting.
Thanks to Violet CLM and Scraleos for the heads up.
