Looks like pony is even entering the shady parts of the world as a group of hackers took over a German political party's website. Translation below.
Headline:
"The Sozis are on the ball, the FDP is ridden by ponies."
Last paragraph:
"[...] And just when you think you've seen it all, the FDP goes
off-the-wall. Under the designated address 'fdp-ortenau', on 7th
november, a colorful site pops up: 'Hacked by Pony Crew'. That's a team
who takes care of security holes on the web and rides these attacks. The
FDP Ortenau had vanished, but reappeared - freed of ponies - three days
later. [...]"

a good search engine:
