Sunset is a curious character, reminding me of Starlight a bit. She started off evil and was reformed, but didn't really gain traction until later when Rainbow Rocks came to be and her popularity soared from there. Now, even after FiM and EqG have ended, she is still a popular staple in fanworks all across the fandom despite EqG never getting a proper ending.
