• Getting Saucy With Your Waifu

Greetings, denizens of Equestria Daily! It is I, Chef Octavia! Here to show you how to properly prepare and cook a very special dinner for your very special waifu.

Click down below the break for gratuitous amounts of sauce! And food too.

Today I have a real treat for you. We're getting extra saucy. That's right.

We're making a classic Italian favorite; spaghetti!

Now, there are many different ways to prepare and cook spaghetti. But this is your very special waifu you're cooking for here! Not just any quickly-slapped together method will do! No, instead I will show you my quickly-slapped together method instead!

*Remember to only cook under the supervision and with the help of an adult!*

    Now onward to cooking!

Firstly, you will need a medium to large-sized pot. Fill the pot with water. I typically fill the pot to around three-quarters of the way full. But it all depends on how large the pot is. Make sure to check for seaponies.

Now it's time for ingredients! Remember, this is a quickly-slapped together method. No fancy sauce made from scratch here. So we've got... water, pasta sauce (I'll leave the brand up to you to choose), the pasta itself (not pictured) and salt. Pretty simple stuff. Some folks like to add olive oil to the water to keep the noodles from sticking together. But I don't find this necessary myself. I simply make sure I have plenty of water in the pot and stir a few moments every so often. And why salt? Salt will help flavor the noodles. The noodles will soak up the salt as they cook.

Next you will need to heat the water on the stove top until it comes to a boil. After it starts to boil, turn the temperature down to bring it to a simmer. Now is the time to add in the noodles! How much you add is up to you and all depends on how much you plan to eat of course. I find I often add in a tad too much though, whoops! After you've added in the noodles, bring the water back up to a gentle boil.

As for cooking time, that also depends. Most pasta boxes give you an estimated cook time, but I personally prefer to taste test it until I find the texture to my liking.

Remember to stir occasionally to help keep the noodles from sticking together!

After you have found the pasta noodles to be cooked to your liking, it's time to drain the water. Some folks like to scoop out some of the water the pasta was cooking in to set aside and add back into the noodles later on. This is done to help loosen up the sauce if it's of a thicker consistency and I sometimes do it as well.

Now it's time to dump the pasta back into the pot after it has completely drained. This is also where you will add back in that pasta water if you saved any from the last step.

Time to get saucy! Add in your pasta sauce. How much you add is completely up to you. I personally like a lot of sauce. Stir it around thoroughly until you have a nice consistency and all your noodles are coated well.

And wallah! You have a nice helping of spaghetti for both you and your special waifu. You can add things like meatballs, herbs, etc. on top to finish it and make it scrumptious.

Get some candles and dim the lights to help set the mood. I'm sure your waifu will love it. It certainly looks like mine does.

Hey now, wait a minute. What's going on here... ?

But... I thought you loved me, Blackjack?

Blackjack, how could you?! I thought what we had was special!

Well, that concludes our cooking lesson for the day. Go out and perfect those culinary skills while I search for a new waifu.
