• Artist Spotlight: B-Epon / Taliesin-the-Dragoon / The0ne-u-lost / Inkwel-MLP

Another week means another Artist Spotlight my friends! Hopefully I can keep this schedule up. We've got a mix of active artists and artists on a bit of hiatus today, but even though they haven't updated in awhile doesn't mean their work shouldn't be recognized. So check on after the break to get some great art and make some new friends!

As usual, these posts are in similar style to the Tumblr Spotlights, a group of 3-5 artists will be spotlit each entry along with a small short description along with a small selection of their artwork! In order to make this feature work though we need people to suggest artists to us so make sure to send artists you think need some exposure to calpain@equestriadaily.com. Please also include a short biography I can work with as well as what medium you work in most.

What sort of artists count? Suggestions should follow these criteria:

    • No clop or extensive gore galleries as those typically violate our content guidelines. If the artist has a safe for work gallery separate from their not safe for work stuff they or their fans can submit the safe for work gallery. If there is a mix of SFW/NSFW on a gallery the decision whether or not to include them will be judged on a gallery to gallery basis.
    • Don't be afraid to spotlight yourself as well as others!
    • Artists of all types accepted -vector, OC, traditional, digital. As long as it is pony and of quality it has a chance of being spotlit.

    Now on to the artists!

    B-Epon

First up on our journey into the land of art is an artist who uses a style I just absolutely adore. Besides being a big fan of traditional art I am also a fan of light colored lines or lineless art. For some reason I believe the use of light lines or no lines at all helps to bring the picture out by making the artist work carefully with their colors and the strokes they make to define the character, something that B-Epon does masterfully. Not only is the style beautiful but it works wonderfully with the type of work Epon usually creates: light hearted pictures and cute shipping pics. If you're a fan of one or both definitely give Epon a look!

    Taliesin-the-Dragoon

Next up is an artist for you Rarity fans! Dragoon may not have done a lot of pony recently, but you might recognize some of his Rarity pictures from Drawfriends long since past. What makes Dragoon unique is the softness in which he draws his ponies, taking care with his shading and coloring to give his creations a muted appearance; an effect that looks especially great with pony tails and manes. As an aside, if you're a fan of dragons or anthro you'll have an extra reason to pay his gallery a visit!

    The0ne-u-lost

Most of the artists we feature usually specialize in one thing and stick with it for the most part. Sometimes though you find artists like The0ne-u-lost which throw that convention out the window and become a jack of all trades! Between anime style humanizations, ponies, and comics you're sure to find something in his gallery to tickle your fancy. And when combined with their bright coloring and shading you'll certainly be in for a treat!

    Inkwel-MLP

Last but certainly not least is an artist that hasn't been able to draw pony recently due to a lack of motivation as well as a real life job. Still, that doesn't mean we can't enjoy what he has made in the past and will hopefully make again in the future! Inkwel's style relies on a muted color palette for his digitally painted creations. This works marvelously for his work considering the somber or relaxed feel in most of his drawings. So while he may not be in the right place to do pony drawings at the moment, give him some encouragement and a follow if you can! It'd be wonderful to see him start up again in the future.
