    A Change in Direction
Hey everyone, it’s The Smiling Pony here.
I come bearing news that some have likely been expecting for some time now.  If anything, it’ll come as a surprise that the inevitable has been delayed for so long.
Derpibooru has always been an operation “owned” by a group of 4 admins in equal standing, with me being the admin that legally owns and pays for (what donations and ads don’t cover, at least) hosting.  This set up has worked well for us in the past, with decisions being made following a simple democratic vote.
Clover and I have seen eye-to-eye on a critical issue that placed our view in a simple majority.  While not ideal, that two out of the four held the same position on such a divisive topic ensured a stability of sorts; it let us move forward, even if uneasily.  While Carcer and Launchycat clearly didn’t agree with us, neither did they agree with each other.
Two days ago, something changed.  I do not know why, and at this point neither do I care; Clover changed his opinion.  After the IRC became too heated with arguments over this, emails were sent, phone calls were made, and friendships were broken.  As much as I hate to admit it, the drastic escalation of events is as much my fault as it is theirs; I honestly never wanted things to go down like this, not for me, not for us, and especially not for you, our users.  But my hand has been forced, and now inaction would be the most destructive path possible.
Effective immediately, Clover, Launchycat, and Carcer are banned from the site, server passwords are changed, and actions enacted to ensure they cannot interfere with operations.  The administration of the site now falls fully upon me.  I will be reviewing my moderation team to ensure they understand what is going on and may be relieving them of their duties as I see fit.
Many will soon notice changes to the site.  I’m sure we can all agree that these are for the best.  While the path ahead may be a difficult one without the support of my former so-called friends, it’s one that I take great honor and pride in taking; I only hope that you all can accompany me in this journey.
    Best regards,
    The Smiling Pony
P.S.: The contentious issue was “Who is Best Pony?”.
