• Blast from the Past #14

Hello again my history students! Calpain here once again to delve into the past with another edition of Blast from the Past. Hope you're all ready for some nostalgia and maybe a peek or two at some material you might have missed out on! Sit back, relax, and enjoy some moments out of pony history!

Before we begin, a big thank you to those of you who sent stuff in to me since the last Blast post. I could not do this feature without your wonderful help! Send any old pics, videos, music, games, ect to my email calpain@equestriadaily.com or send me a tweet on Twitter at @CalpaindEqD.

Time to check out today's history lesson after the break!

    Carnations and Forget-Me-Nots

Originally appearing as a comic almost a year ago in September 2011 this video took an already heart wrenching and beautiful comic and made it even tougher on the old heart. An example of one of the best comics ever made in the fandom (and admittedly the only one to make me cry), Carnations and Forget-Me-Nots certainly deserves a place in the halls of pony history.

Equestrian Innovations Commercial - The First!

Equestria Daily's research and development division, Equestrian Innovations, has been a part of the site since the early days and since then has grown to include a wide range of pony themed products to satisfy your every day needs! Brought to us by Cereal Velocity in April 2011 EQI has been a welcome feature to the site spawning many parodies and lore to go along with it!

The rest of Cereal's EQI videos can be found here.

    Pony Swag

The music community of our fandom is incredibly talented, generating everything from 8-bit tracks to elaborate vocal and instrumental pieces. One of the best songs to come out of last summer popped up on Youtube in July 2011 which introduced the phrase 'Ponies Swag!' to the rapidly expanding fanbase. As one of the first pony songs to do rap right and combine them with good music and catchy lyrics, this song helped define the first summer of pony.

PinkiePieSwear - Giggle at the Ghostly

Speaking of the music scene, we certainly have as many varied artists as we do varied music. One such musician, PinkiePieSwear, who created the much loved 'Flutterwonder' song along with 'Trixie's Good Side' and 'Sunshine and Celery Stalks' first came to the scene in May 2011 with the impressive Giggle at the Ghostly mix.
