Ending reminds me of The Hitchhiker's Guide movie when they turned life on on the second earth. But yeah, this was great, I decided that when I saw what "Generosity" was.
The video says it takes place 1000 years before episode one so basically its just a reimagining of the events described by Twilight sparkle in the beggining of episode one.
It was a bit predictable. "Now Luna appears, but then Celestia blows everything up" I've seen it before, but the animation quality was the greatest I've ever seen.
Epic. Complete and total epicness. And it even shows how evil Celestria really is, killing everyone on the planet to get Luna. That's 40k inquisition level evil, and that didn't even kill her. But what is the value of life when it can just be backed up like a program?
That was outstanding! Got me to laugh after a very rough day at work, and trust me I needed that laugh! BTW the Generosity cannon is now an object of my desires...must have NOW!
There are no real history of Equestria. Every decade or so, Celestia destroys and remakes the world.. We are currently on the 127th revision of Equestria.
Luna knew the truth, and seeks to free the ponies from this never ending cycle.
Sooo... both Luna and Celestia are goddesses imbued with the power to create and recreate life, powers that can only be used for good, I suppose, so what happens when they decide to wage war? They use the hooves of their subjects and the weapons of science to do their dirty work? Awesome.
I also like the idea that those lovely Elements of Harmony accessories the Mane Six have in their possession double as launch-code devices to bring about the Ponyocalypse, and they have no idea...
@Kein Don't be sad. It can't really hurt ponies in your eyes, can it? All in a good fun. There are a lot more disturbing things involving ponies, some of them I can't stand myself, but I found that they are unable to ruin the characters for me. Ponies are just that good, nothing taints them and they make everything better (this video is a Happy End Apocalypse, how cool is that?).
What sticks out in my mind is this was a thousand years before the current series. That means Luna was actually nuking one of the -previous- generations of ponies. She cleared away the refuse to make way for the ponies we know and love. I wholeheartedly support her act of genocide.
@Anonymous As I recall, Faust said it was because of Executive Meddling. I guess it's because queens are often portrayed in fiction as evil and princesses appear more admirable. Take various Disney movies and Alice in Wonderland, for example.
It doesn't bother me at all, it's just annoying because it begs the question, "Where is the queen?"
I know the official reason but the whole queen/princess thing just makes more sense as there are two ruling Princesses, having two ruling Queens makes it sound like they should rule different countries instead of the same one.
Since ponies around now where around 1000 years ago I guess that means it to Celestria 1000 years to restore the back up. meaning Luna wasn't banished she just had no place to go back to until then.
This is so epic, and so sick, and weird, but EPIC and awesome, I think I broke my mouse while clicking the favourite button xD
Ok folks, Celestia officialy scared the shit out of me. No more rebellions. I mean comon Luna just dropped a nuke and Celestia blew up the entire world in return.
This was just okay, up until GENEROSITY ONLINE and then it was awesome. And then it went back to just okay. But it was pretty good by the end. A great effort!
It's pretty good, but I think it would have suited the earlier gens more x[ I liked this one a bit more though it's short http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4In8sp9JDlE
I watched this a few times, at first i was put off by it. Dont know why. but this latest watching . . . i sorta get it better now. and it really is cool.
The music fit well too. added to the video nicely n.n
And to be clear that wasn't the Orbital Friendship Beam that was the H.A.R.M.O.N.Y. System and it is an array of 6 Oribtal Cannons that is why it blow up the whole planet^^
This reminds me of the time we accidentaly lost the startup key to LOYALTY. There was quite a freak out over that... until we noticed that it was on the RD keychain, but in the wrong mailbox.
We automaticly assume this to be the case ever since the first day Derpy started managing the mailboxes... and what a fateful day it was...
(in tf2, in response to anti pony on a pony server, I said over voice to "ready the orbital friendship cannon," and we promptly freaked when informed that we had lost the startup key, that was SUPPOSED TO BE on the RD keychain, but they lost THAT too.... derp.)
@Anonymous Because the Hasbro execs think queens are automatically evil. Because of Disney movies 'nstuff. Politics in the workplace have only damaged the show.
"What sticks out in my mind is this was a thousand years before the current series. That means Luna was actually nuking one of the -previous- generations of ponies. She cleared away the refuse to make way for the ponies we know and love. I wholeheartedly support her act of genocide. "

ReplyDeleteWhat is this, I don't even....
ReplyDeleteWhat did the words at the end say?
ReplyDeleteI guess Celestia felt the elements needed to be toned down a bit after the last time.
ReplyDeleteHoly shit
ReplyDelete...and in the end, everything was destroyed and re-created by Celestia... well in here she truly IS a god.
ReplyDeleteA darn good animation for sure. Blew my mind away - even though the plot is a bit weird to me. ^^;
"Gotcha!" <3
ReplyDeleteI don't know what I just watched. But I liked it.
ReplyDeleteThis video is amazing!
ReplyDeleteTo clear things up the text in Russian at the end means: backup restored successfully.
Ending reminds me of The Hitchhiker's Guide movie when they turned life on on the second earth. But yeah, this was great, I decided that when I saw what "Generosity" was.
ReplyDeleteBut where was Nightmare Moon?
ReplyDeletewhat did I just watch
ReplyDeletewow, that was pretty amazing. what does it say at the end
ReplyDeleteOnly can say... awesome O_o
ReplyDeleteI find it funny that Granny Smith was around 1000 years ago.
ReplyDeleteThat was AMAZING.
ReplyDeleteMy brother was watching over my shoulder. He saw the Russian text and said:
ReplyDelete"Is that l33t?"

This is epic.
Seems Luna plays NOD too. Good for her ;)

ReplyDeleteWhat did I just watch?
Totally 100% canon. Very well made.
ReplyDeleteThe video says it takes place 1000 years before episode one so basically its just a reimagining of the events described by Twilight sparkle in the beggining of episode one.
ReplyDeleteBut why people do that?
ReplyDeleteWhy they bring violence in MLP universe?
This is sad. Very sad.
I approve of this.....
ReplyDeletegotcha...
ReplyDeleteNow thats how it's done.
ReplyDeleteInb4 MOSKAU MOSKAU
ReplyDeletedestroyed in ten seconds flat!
ReplyDeleteI... this... ʸᵃʸ
ReplyDeletewow luna air force
ReplyDeletethis is an amazing video
It was a bit predictable.
ReplyDelete"Now Luna appears, but then Celestia blows everything up"
I've seen it before, but the animation quality was the greatest I've ever seen.
I'm told the russian at the end translates to "Backup restored successfully."
ReplyDeleteLuna needs to use more nukes next time.
ReplyDeleteNo words. Just applause.
ReplyDeleteGenerosity is now Cannon. :P
ReplyDeleteFirst I was; "WHAT THE HAY?!"
ReplyDeleteThen I was; "yay"
0_0 oh my got that was just beautiful
ReplyDeletei would like to give the pony who made this a hug, cause it made my day =D
Heh, that cute little Lunar Republic and their little nukes... how quaint.
ReplyDeleteThe Solar Empire has KillSats. Bam, 'Gotcha!'. And a world-backup apparently.
This is fantastic.
очень хорошо!
ReplyDeleteO.O
ReplyDeleteThat was epic random there.
Only Luna would have the guts to do something so cool.
ReplyDeleteThat, my friends, is how Equestria was made.
ReplyDeleteI side with Luna.
ReplyDeleteSo apparently Lyra is a thousand years old. Good to know.
ReplyDeletePonies have B-52's... AWESOME
ReplyDeleteWow. That is all.
ReplyDeleteThat may be the greatest thing I've ever seen in my life.
ReplyDeleteEpic. Complete and total epicness. And it even shows how evil Celestria really is, killing everyone on the planet to get Luna. That's 40k inquisition level evil, and that didn't even kill her. But what is the value of life when it can just be backed up like a program?
ReplyDeleteGuys, I'm ashamed. Not one Pinkie Pie quote?
ReplyDelete*inhale*
AND THAT'S HOW EQUESTRIA WAS MADE!!
@Kujii
ReplyDeleteExcept for you, Kujii; there is only praise for you.
I would be interesting what Lauren Faust would think about this ;)
ReplyDeleteOnly this fandom...
ReplyDeleteThat was outstanding! Got me to laugh after a very rough day at work, and trust me I needed that laugh! BTW the Generosity cannon is now an object of my desires...must have NOW!
ReplyDeletecooooll! my mom is asleep so I saw it without sound. cant wait to hear it!
ReplyDeleteThis is the truth.
ReplyDeleteThere are no real history of Equestria.
Every decade or so, Celestia destroys and remakes the world.. We are currently on the 127th revision of Equestria.
Luna knew the truth, and seeks to free the ponies from this never ending cycle.

Love how Lyra is like, "WTF JUST HAPPENED?!"
ReplyDeleteAnd that's how Equestria was made.
ReplyDeleteIt's really great!
ReplyDeleteWhat in the hay!
ReplyDeleteWo my head splode
In space, no one can hear you scream (as you hurtle towards the moon)
ReplyDeletePoor Luna.
Holly sweet mother of mercy this is awesome!!!
ReplyDeleteThe words ate the end say:
Re-establishment of control station(actual word is point, but meaning is more likes station) successfully completed.
interesting; a poni origin story
ReplyDelete@Kein
ReplyDeleteIt's for people who have a sense of humor. I guess that's not you.
That was INSANELY AWESOME!
ReplyDeleteQUICK, CRASH A PHAZON LEVIATHAN INTO CELESTIA BEFORE SHE DESTROYS US AGA- oh wait.....that would also poison the planet and corrupt her to insanity.
ReplyDeleteOne thing I never understood about Celestia: If she's their ruler, then why is she called "Princess Celestia" instead of "Queen Celestia".
This strikes me as a rather random affair...
ReplyDeleteOH MAI GAWD THAT WAS EPIC O_O
ReplyDelete@Yuri
ReplyDeleteNo, that is wrong. Belive me, I speak Russian and the correct translation was already mentioned:
"Backup restored successfully"
There should be 6 ion cannons. Generosity was just one of them.
ReplyDeletemeh
ReplyDeleteWait, but... I don't... How does that even... What the hell did I just watch?
ReplyDelete...Holy fucking shit.
ReplyDeleteThat...was SO. AWESOME.
inb4 shi-never mind it's started!
ReplyDelete1:46
ReplyDeleteHoly shit that was awesome...
wait, there's MORE?
I hope season 2 will be as bad ass as this animation.
ReplyDeleteWTFBOOM!!!!!?
ReplyDeletemore like
WTFLUTTERSHY!!!!!
the elevator scene screamed manlyness
(HuffytheMagicDragon)
@Kein
ReplyDeleteDon't be sad. It can't really hurt ponies in your eyes, can it? All in a good fun.

Luna bombed 1000 years old Ponyville? FIRE THE ORBITAL FRIENDSHIP CANNON!
ReplyDeletethat vid was simply hilarious xD
Irony- luna air force= LAF
ReplyDeleteWhy did I get such a big grin on my fact at 0:50 and the Luna Air Force emblem?
ReplyDeleteI know, because Luna is pure awesome in any depiction.
Was seriously a, "Huh?" up unto that point.
What sticks out in my mind is this was a thousand years before the current series. That means Luna was actually nuking one of the -previous- generations of ponies. She cleared away the refuse to make way for the ponies we know and love. I wholeheartedly support her act of genocide.
ReplyDeleteIn the immortal words of Pinkie Pie: "That's how Equestria was made!"
ReplyDelete@Anonymous
ReplyDeleteIf he never uses the internet, slap him.
If he uses it, but not to go to places where there is leet, slap him harder.
If he should be fluent in leet, choose one of the two super weapons from the video and deploy it on his arse
Jaw drop
ReplyDelete@Anonymous 1:52Because apparently market research shows that children associate "Queen" with villains and "Princess" with protagonists.
ReplyDeleteTo borrow a line from Daggett Beaver...
ReplyDelete"THAT was NUTS!!!"
@Anonymous
ReplyDeleteAs I recall, Faust said it was because of Executive Meddling. I guess it's because queens are often portrayed in fiction as evil and princesses appear more admirable. Take various Disney movies and Alice in Wonderland, for example.
It doesn't bother me at all, it's just annoying because it begs the question, "Where is the queen?"
WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT ALL MY STARS R BELONG TO THIS
ReplyDeletehaha freakin' hilarious
ReplyDeleteI like how the title of the video is "Fanfic" and this is tagged "Not-Fanfiction"
ReplyDeleteThat elevator scene was just perfect.
ReplyDeleteNow I need a gif of that D:
this is canon in russia.
ReplyDeleteNukes 1000 years ago.
ReplyDeleteWHAT.
I know the official reason but the whole queen/princess thing just makes more sense as there are two ruling Princesses, having two ruling Queens makes it sound like they should rule different countries instead of the same one.
ReplyDeleteIn soviet Russia, Killsats are harmony.
ReplyDeleteSince ponies around now where around 1000 years ago I guess that means it to Celestria 1000 years to restore the back up. meaning Luna wasn't banished she just had no place to go back to until then.
ReplyDeleteMy feeling of slightly perplexed joy is probably going to last all day now.
ReplyDeleteNicely done. Kinda neat in its own way
ReplyDeleteThat was awesome.
ReplyDeleteThis is...how...but...and then...why?!
ReplyDeleteThis is so epic, and so sick, and weird, but EPIC and awesome, I think I broke my mouse while clicking the favourite button xD
Ok folks, Celestia officialy scared the shit out of me. No more rebellions. I mean comon Luna just dropped a nuke and Celestia blew up the entire world in return.
Don't mess with the Solar Goddess. Period.
Thats just awesome... so badass
ReplyDeleteWow. Just Wow. Great animation, even if my life is forever ruined to think that Lyra and Bon Bon were dead, for however brief a time.
ReplyDelete1000 years before episode 1 and granny smith is still old as fuck?
ReplyDeleteWow! Just... just...
ReplyDeleteYes, that is all!
I don't read russian. what was on the scroll at the end?
ReplyDeleteI'd love to see someone write a much more detailed fan fiction novelization of this. Seems like there's a lot of potential for backstory here.
ReplyDeleteOr barring that, I just want that unbelievably epic soundtrack playing on every stereo within a hundred miles of my current position.
And then there was none.
ReplyDeleteThis was just okay, up until GENEROSITY ONLINE and then it was awesome. And then it went back to just okay. But it was pretty good by the end. A great effort!
ReplyDelete@Kein
ReplyDeleteHmm....might I recommend "Cupcakes"?
@Brian
ReplyDeletePsst, hey Brian...Your uh....your fanboy is showing.
Epic. Just... there isn't anything else to say.
ReplyDeleteSolid. Fkng. Gold.
ReplyDeleteI am amazed... and quite confused, honestly.
ReplyDeleteIt's pretty good, but I think it would have suited the earlier gens more x[
ReplyDeleteI liked this one a bit more though it's short
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4In8sp9JDlE
Wow, russians did their best.
ReplyDelete@Anonymous
ReplyDeleteGranny Smith is ancient; it's not that hard to believe she's been around that long. One of two ponies around since the old age =P
"Восствновление" lol
ReplyDeleteШикарное видео. Интересно автор будет пилить ещё.
ReplyDeleteThe new Generosity Frienship Orbital Particle Lance: Giving Until it Hurts.
ReplyDeleteI watched this a few times, at first i was put off by it. Dont know why. but this latest watching . . . i sorta get it better now. and it really is cool.
ReplyDeleteThe music fit well too. added to the video nicely n.n
This was very epic :P
ReplyDeleteLAME
ReplyDeletei love low orbit cannons. Specially from ponies.
ReplyDeleteAwesome. But what does it say at the end?
ReplyDeleteAnd to be clear that wasn't the Orbital Friendship Beam that was the H.A.R.M.O.N.Y. System and it is an array of 6 Oribtal Cannons that is why it blow up the whole planet^^
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely awesome! We need more fanimation!
ReplyDelete1:52 - the end was the only part I actually liked because of the pretty neat music (especially the bass!).
ReplyDeleteOverall, the beginning I didn't really take liking in, but the animation was indeed awesome.
Why has no-one picked up on this yet?: And that's how Pinkie got her cutie mark.
ReplyDeleteAlso, why was that in Russian? It didn't need to be in Russian.
Anypony else feel a connection between this animatic and Odessy's new song?
ReplyDeleteOh my Celestia, this was just too amazinggg <33
ReplyDeleteWhile most of it is genuinely good, some parts seem inconsistent. The part where Luna is thrown to the moon seems especially half-arsed.
ReplyDelete@Anonymous
ReplyDeletenext cycle begins decemeber 21 2012
@Nigel
ReplyDeleteThe author did the last caption in his native language. Is it that weird?
Awesome :D
ReplyDeleteI just... what?
ReplyDeleteMy mind...I think it just exploded...
ReplyDeleteI think Celestia may have gone a bit overboard, what with the plow up the planet thing.
ReplyDeleteThis was awesome, but at the same time... whaaaa?
ReplyDeleteThis reminds me of the time we accidentaly lost the startup key to LOYALTY. There was quite a freak out over that... until we noticed that it was on the RD keychain, but in the wrong mailbox.

ReplyDeleteQFT
The video would be even more hilarious if Luna bombed the G1 ponies (or G3/G3.5, which are even more of an abomination)
ReplyDeleteNightmare Moon: The real story.
ReplyDeleteThat was amazing, confusing, disturbing, funny, and amazing at the same time. It was also amazing.
ReplyDelete
