• Pony Music Discussion - Pony DJ Youtube Channel

Just in case you guys were bored of Scratch, it looks like this crazy brony has released the entire mane cast as DJ ponies.

Which pony fits with each genre of music best though?  We used to have threads dedicated to this on /co/.  They were a pain for me trying to gather stuff to post here, but still fun when I wasn't stressing out about posting a whopping 8 things a day.

Feel free to bombard the comments with youtube links and the ponies that go with it! My pet spam filter needs to learn not to filter youtube, and what better way to teach it than swarm it?!

    The Youtube channel!

    3. I think the whole point is to debate which pony suits what style of music.

    4. Scratch should never be replaced...

    12. I am appalled and disgusted, my heart only belongs to DJ P0N-3, Vinyl Scratch!

    13. I agree with Anon 9:09 in the most part. But there should also be a few extra bits in there to help define the characters that much more.

Pinkie when in bipolar mode: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kyFyAqLtHq8

Rainbow Dash cuz it fits, and to help mix it up:
      http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zrGWalenkYE

Rarity when wallowing in whatever it is ponies are supposed to wallow in (and the violin sort of fits high society as well, so it's not too off the mark):

And maybe a random death metal/generally angry song on Fluttershy's channel for teh lulz. Otherwise, Applejack and Twilight just emanate country and classical, respectively.

    14. Pinkie Pie? Naw, she'd prefer dance music, maybe dabble in a little rave. PINKAMENA, on the other hand, is a total death metal fan. Although I find it discomforting to suggest replacing Scratch.

      Celestia - Also Power Metal

    18. If Vinyl Scratch decided to let Fluttershy be the DJ at her dance club for whatever reason, I think this song would be great for Fluttershy. Very mellow, yet very "rave-y", just how DJ P0N-3 likes it!

      ReplyDelete
    19. Oops, forgot to the post the mellow rave song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5yCJs_DnRoU

    20. Fluttershy - Pop/Melodic
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G1LEISP6e9c (Mainly because of the name of the song.)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bnfRq69nKEA (Because of Fluttershy's insecurities and fears)

      Pinkie Pie - 80's Pop
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zhdTpeegBZk (That song has "Pinkie Pie" written all over it!)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CTVJTt-Gfx8 (I know, but after "Equestria Girls" it's unavoidable.)

      Rainbow Dash - Inspirational/Power songs
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PXO3gKfOUN8 (She always believes to be the best.)

      Twilight - ????
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PlDdcCzKjsc (On how she's always working so hard.)
      http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EcXURC_nNhc (Friendship is magic.)

      Rarity - Classical/"Classy" music
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nlu2z2gkhhI (Very classy with great composition.)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D0Fk2vvAPRY&feature=fvst (For the music, not the lyrics)

Applejack - Country (The most obvious choice)
      http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K_YK7ebcZ2o
      http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1hz0EXXZU8g

      Luna -
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PLqlSUluPao (Talking about what she might have felt on the moon.)

    21. Applejack: Country (easiest one by far)
      Pinkie Pie: Pop Rock
      Rainbow Dash: Alternative
      Fluttershy: Easy Listening and Ambient
      Rarity: Classical
Twilight Sparkle: Big band jazz? Gregorian Chants?? (hardest one, in trying to avoid copying other pony's selection on my list. Libraries are quiet places, dangit!)
Nightmare Moon: Opera metal (Nightwish et al.)

      ReplyDelete
    25. why is that rainbow dash always wins everytime at things like this??? just saying...

      ReplyDelete
    26. Yea, the Fluttershy one is without question the best. Angel's ears in the corner bobbing along at the same time just makes it.

      Twilight: Classical/Jazz
Dash: Any rock, soft rock and balads for her more serene moments and harder and faster stuff for performing.
Pinkie Pie: Pop, along with anything funny, including polkas. And maybe bits of death metal every so often because she just loves her surprises
      Derpy: Anything strange or experimental
Scatch: Keeps techno, dance, and the like obviously
Fluttershy: Various serene stuff, easy listening, ambient, and some choral. Though she is the most musically inclined so maybe she has much broader tastes.
Rarity: Probably wouldn't stick to a genere, just follow any artist with enough style.

      ReplyDelete
    27. Applejack: Country Rock and Country. Maybe some Oldie's too.

Fluttershy: Folk and Acoustic mixed with some Indie

Twilight Sparkle: Classical and jazz with some 90s pop as her guilty pleasure

Rainbow Dash: Alternative Rock, Grunge Rock and Metal

      Rarity: Broadway

Pinkie Pie: Pop, Happy Hardcore, and 90s Boy Bands

      ReplyDelete
    28. Rainbow Dash - Any song by Dragonforce.

That's all I can really think of. :(

      ReplyDelete
    29. ^
      David's opinion.

And Derpy would be into prog.

Applejack: Country, Honky Tonk (country version of dance), and Southern Rock, (I can see her closing a show with Free Bird)

Rainbow Dash: Rave, Eurobeat, Dubstep, and other high energy stuff you would most likely hear in an aerobics class.

Rarity: Glam Rock and Show Tunes

Pinkie Pie: Pop, Dance Pop, Techno, and Andrew WK
      Pinkamena: Emo

      Fluttershy: Trance, Reggae, and R&B

    35. Applejack likes both kinds of music, country and western!

      ReplyDelete
    36. Twilights and Raritys music genre seem to conflict a lot

Maybe you can inspire yourselves from that evil face Twilight makes at Phillomena when getting the soup

      ReplyDelete
    37. I can only account for the pony's who would have the same taste in music as me:
      Pinkie Pie: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6xlqXHnb2YA
      Rainbow Dash: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c4_huqm7usE

    39. Zoidberg in Twilight's video! Love it!

Based on GGG, I figured Rainbow Dash deserved some hard edge classic rock like...AC/DC, perhaps?

      ReplyDelete
    40. Yes, I know you're all tired of "Equestria Girls" being stuck in your heads, but I really think Pinkie Pie would have several Katy Perry songs on her iPony.
