This was in the roundup for some odd reason! It looks like Ashleigh Ball was recently interviewed over on the WE Vancouver. It has a pretty good balance of MLP Stuff along with information about her Canadian tour with Hey Ocean.
Check the entire thing out

cool
ReplyDeleteSo that pic of the meetup DID have Ashleigh!
ReplyDeleteThat was very short, but I'm really looking forward to that documentary her friend is making.
ReplyDeleteDude, Purple Tinker is everywhere.
ReplyDelete...lucky...
It was a pretty nice little interview. Juggling two careers can be tough. Especially ones are sporadic and hectic as VA and musician gigs. I know and feel your pain, Ashleigh. But I'm glad she seems to be so happy with them and is managing quite well.
ReplyDeleteyeah !
ReplyDeleteI'm glad she enjoys it. Even though we're so bizarre here. ;-P
ReplyDeleteI <3 Ashleigh Ball
ReplyDeleteI'd love for her to come to my city and play, I won't even pester her with MLP questions I just want to see a MLP VA in person.
ReplyDeleteThat was disappointingly short. Anyway, it seems to me like the musical element of My Little Pony must be very pleasing to Ms. Ball, seeing how it allows her to combine her two passions. To great effect, I might add, as Rainbow is, in my opinion, definitely the best singer of the Mane 6.
ReplyDeleteI like.
ReplyDelete@Mike
ReplyDeleteWhat meetup I don't remember seeing her inany of the pictures. Can you please link to me which one?
Yay interview it was kind of short but... Yay Ashleigh
ReplyDeleteThat was a really interesting read. I've always felt like, out of the VAs, Ashleigh was the most... ambivalent about the whole 'unexpected fandom' thing.
ReplyDeleteAndrea Libman, Nicole Oliver and Michelle Creber seem pretty pleased by it, Tara Strong has been around fandoms long enough to find the whole thing pretty funny, Tabitha St Germain seems to look on benignly from the distance.
Ashleigh always seemed really nice about everything, but I guess she's the most exposed out of the VAs, in that people can just come see her shows and bother her afterwards.
But it seems like she has a lot of affection for the whole thing, while still realising how unlikely the whole thing is.

ReplyDelete@Tears of a Valedictorian Claire Corlett and Maddy Peters are also pretty clearly pleased with our little fandom.

ReplyDeleteSweetie Belle and Scootaloo, right? I haven't actually heard much from those two, it's good to know they're happy about it though.
"I'm not that striking beauty they're looking for"...?
ReplyDeleteR u serious, film industry??
@Tears of a Valedictorian Eeyup. Maddy Peters did an interview a while back, in which she revealed she was pretty positive about our community. She even said she approves of the "Scootaloo is a chicken" meme and finds it amusing.
ReplyDeleteClaire Corlett has about 7500 subscribers on her Youtube account, 90% of which are bronies. She seems to interact with her subscribers through her videos fairly regularly, and is definitely on good terms with the fandom.
@FreezingShock
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome, I remember wondering back in the day if the CMC VAs were aware of all this, and how they'd respond, given how they're not that far from the actual target age of the show.
It's great that they all seemed happy about it. Especially Michelle, with the christmas song, her collabs with MandoPony, etc.
I honestly think you guys are burying the lead with Dystopia is Magic, because it's honestly a head trip to say the least.
ReplyDelete@Tears of a Valedictorian If you liked Michelle's Christmas song and her collab with MandoPony, you may also like Maddy Peters' collab with MandoPony: Jingle Bells in the Scootaloo voice.

You can check out her interview on Everfree Radio's Youtube account, if you wish.
@Rick Neil
ReplyDeleteThat was my exact reaction when I read that quote. Somebody in that film industry is blind as a bat.
So much interaction with VAs and others who work on the show. I hope they don't get tired of us any time soon. ;)
ReplyDelete@Tears of a Valedictorian
ReplyDeleteIt makes sense that she's a bit frazzled by the experience. As Ashleigh Ball said, music is her passion, and being a VA was just a way of making money in order to be a musician. To have that secondary job, become widely more successful than her musical career must be a little off-putting, and was not her intention.
Compared to the other VA's like Andrea Libman and Nicole Oliver who have been doing voice acting for around 25 years or more, and their success with MLP must be very gratifying compared to Ashleigh who has only been doing it for 6 years.
@Tears of a Valedictorian
ReplyDeleteI dare say Tara Strong is downrightly falling in love with this fandom. Just take a look at her twitter :D
re: me This is the Ashleigh Post, so that's why we're all talking about the interview. Ohhh...
ReplyDeleteHappy belated Derpy day.
great article. it's a bit scary to think we might lose her soon if her band takes off, but hey it's what's best for her
ReplyDeleteI guess this explains why the lack of Applejack episodes. As I see it, her being on MLP exposed me to Hey Ocean(I don't want to call it HER band), which is the first time I've ever actually been interested in an indie band, or follow any sort of music. Normally I just like what I hear and don't have any sort of attachment to the band behind it. That being said, I think it's important to support her where she wants to succeed the most. While MLP is great, we all know that she is more than a one trick pony(or is that two tricks?). I don't think I'll ever get to go to a Hey Ocean concert, but I'm happy that I can pay to download their music and support them.
ReplyDelete"I’m not that striking beauty"
ReplyDeleteAshleigh Ball is worst Element of Honesty...
The way she describes the experience is 'bizarre'?
ReplyDeleteThat's not good :/
Over the course of her interviews and appearances, I've really come to like Ashleigh Ball. She's willing to go out of her way to talk to fans and she sounds like a very friendly gal.
ReplyDeleteHave to say, met the band once at the CBC gig a couple weeks ago before their tour across Canada, Ashleigh Ball is just so nice and down to earth friendly, and I even got to chat with her bandmates Dave Vertesi and David Beckingham both awesome individuals and talented musicians...the whole live show experience was just mind blowningly good
ReplyDeleteI guess this explains why Rainbow Dash and AJ only had one line between the two of them in two episodes (17 and 18)
ReplyDeletesomeone with skillz gotta make a Megaman edit of that picture. Seriously just stare at it for a second, cover up Dash's hair. Bam.
