ReplyDeleteWatched soon after it was posted and I must say it is very amazing.
ReplyDeleteSHESCONDA
ReplyDeleteThirst
ReplyDeleteIt's...beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThe ending did make me sad though :(.
Awful, just awful. Anyway, I'm leaving.
ReplyDeleteRAP RAP WUB WUB.

THIS IS EPIC!!
ReplyDeletewhat a coincident I was just listening to this.....
ReplyDeleteAll I have to say is...blood...IN MY LITTLE PONY?!?
ReplyDeleteI saw this like.. Two hours before it was posted on EqD. So inb4 Equestria Daily.
ReplyDelete@RaccoonBL September. That will be all.
ReplyDeleteAnyways, the animation was pretty good, but I feel like it missed a lot of opportunities to tell the story more effectively.
Excellent video. But I just don't get why people would hate carrot top so much.
ReplyDeleteThen Carrot Top (ahem Golden Harvest) beats the shit out of those ponies.
ReplyDeleteThis is...Mic's second straight song PMV'd by this guy, right? :/

ReplyDeleteWow I just saw this before but it's still worthy of some wub!!
ReplyDeleteThat was EPIC! Although I wish they didn't just have the carrots lying there in the end, I kinda thought a small garden should have bloomed out of the ashes instead, more symbolic.
ReplyDeleteMeh
ReplyDeleteIt's really cool that so many people got together to make this.
ReplyDeleteAlso, this was awesome, so this needs to happen more often.
Awesome song, awesome video. (The end made me cry.)
ReplyDeleteI think I would have liked this more if I understood what the story was to this.
ReplyDeleteBoss song.
ReplyDeleteDem OC's. lol Not too shabby. I remember some of the other PMV's from this guy.
ReplyDeleteIf you don't understand the story, go to Mic's video of Beyond her Tomb. The story is in the description.
ReplyDeleteI always thought Beyond her Tomb is like the pinnacle of fan creation.
ReplyDeleteIt's a great song, and it took four of the best musicians in the fandom all focusing their effort on the part of the song they are best at.
WoodenToaster's original song. Tombstone doing the remix work. Lulz and Mic doing lyrics and rapping. The song is like the Captain Planet of the brony music community.
Wait a minute, did Carrot Top get murdered? If so then this looks like more pony hate. Come on people, first Derpy, and now Carrot Top? Who's gonna be the next victim?
ReplyDeleteHoly crap!
ReplyDeletei have completely new respect for the song and yest that is definitly an awesome pmv. great post!
ReplyDeleteMy God, this guy just keeps making such great videos to go with such great songs
ReplyDelete(Starts listening) Heck yeah! I love Beyond Her Garden! (Hears rapping) No.
ReplyDeletehonestly i thought rainbow factory was bad but really...killing carrot top? this kind of this isn't what MLP is about and garbage like this getting praise sickens me.
ReplyDeleteWhaaaaaaa...? There's Carrot Top hate now...?
ReplyDeleteI am ginger and I approve this video!
ReplyDeleteI personally found the BG in the music videos to be a bit off tone. Equestria was supposedly dry and magicless without much life and that's why people hated on Carrot Top because she could grow her garden when others couldn't, but the backgrounds are bright and green.
ReplyDeleteThis should be on MTV =P
ReplyDeleteMy OC is in this *SQUEEEE*
ReplyDeleteNicely done!

ReplyDeleteWhat some people seem to misinterpret is really easy to understand, the video tells about a quarter of the story. Listen to the lyrics and the real story unfolds right before you. Carrot Top was ridiculed and made fun of for being different. Once Carrot Top showed what she could really do the ones making fun of her were scared but Carrot Top instead of keeping them in fear offered them friendship. Six months later Carrot Top and her powers are known world wide and some are scared of what she can do so they form a mob and go to burn her, like a witch. Her now friends stood by her and wanted to prevent this but Carrot Top gave herself up so her friends would not be hurt.
ReplyDeleteNever judge a book by its cover and selfless sacrifice seem to be the main motifs of Carrot Top in this, feel free to disagree its my opinion ;D
"Explanation of the story [Don't try applying show logic here. This was made prior to the whole "natural order" thing they introduced. It doesn't really apply here.]:
ReplyDeleteThe story is... Odd. It's a sick, twisted little creation thought up in my head. I'll paraphrase the lot of it:
Desolate land expands out all around a small village. Not even Unicorn magic can bring life to this dead, empty space. Yet amongst all the dreary scenery live a simple mare with a gift: A gift to give life to the ground around her. Renowned and hated for her gift, she is cast out by many and said to be a witch of sorts.
One day the citizens of this village do what they believe is the right thing: They try and kill the witch. They believed they succeeded until the following day. Carrot Top returned, unscathed and just as serene as ever. Despite their actions, she held no ill will toward the villagers. It was then that the villagers had realized that they had misjudged her.
6 months pass and the story of Carrot Top spreads far and wide. Jealous and enraged by her gift, ponies from far and wide congregate to rid the world of this "otherwordly" creature once and for all. However, the villagers step in to protect her, no matter what the cost. Before the conflicts escalates, Carrot Top steps in and offers herself to the enraged ponies.
She is then tied up and burned alive inside her house. Even as her light fades, the welfare of the villagers; her friends, remains her top concern. As the smoke clears, all that is left of Carrot Top and her house is ash and smoldering wood. However, amidst this dark, depressing scene, a small garden flourishes almost instantaneously. Though she is gone, she left her friends a reminder: She will always be there for them."
That was taken from the description of mic's video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QybkjWrL_ZM
@Diceman
Come on, get over it, there's plenty worse things out there. It's not like this is the first piece gimdark material to ever come out of this fandom either. But seriously, you need to grow up. I assume that you're at the very youngest 14, and at that age you should have the ability to accept the death of fictional characters. It wasn't even gruesome, there was blood in one part of the video. And for the record, if you didn't read the quote above Carrot Top actually allowed herself to be killed, she didn't want her friends to get hurt protecting her.

ReplyDeleteNo comments about how awesome Joe is? SHAME on you EQD!
ReplyDeleteNot bad, not a favorite but good
ReplyDeleteMy OC is in this, at the 0:50 mark on the far right.
ReplyDeleteI watched this get finished
ReplyDeleteAww, poor Carrot Top. Beyond Her Tomb is one of my favorite songs to come out of our fandom...and I don't even like rap that much. I liked the video.
ReplyDeleteThis guy's lip synching has gotten pretty good.
ReplyDeleteWho else saw the awesome RainbowDash Shadowbolt?
ReplyDeleteVery nice PMV, as always.
@Naahdude
ReplyDeleteSeptember was Tomb's song, actually. So no.
Yow. So Golden Harvest is burned for being a witch, yet Pinkie gets totally overlooked? I mean, of all the earth ponies with otherworldly powers being hurt and hunted down for their beneficial efforts, you'd just figure...
ReplyDeleteOh wait. Pinkie would simply end the world. Can't persecute a pony messiah! Except Luna.
Hmmm... Not sure if I would love of or dislike it, im rly torn on this one
ReplyDelete@Unknown
ReplyDeleteIf you meant the rainbow maned one with shades
I should hit you
! awesome exclamation mark
ReplyDeleteAAH GOD THOSE PONYSONAS!!! I think I would really enjoy this more if they didn't look so unnatural and out of place...everyone knows that shade of blue doesn't go well with that shade of yellow, it's just gross...

ReplyDeleteI love these three, especially WoodenToaster! Together, they've made a song that I just can't get out of my head! Loved the Tombstone remix, and this tops it!
ReplyDeleteFuck. Yea.
ReplyDeleteThat song rock'd man, i felt like i was carrot-top being bullied by every pony
ReplyDelete<3333
ReplyDeleteLooove it
ReplyDeleteI get what they meen, I think it's about carrot topbeing there at the start and slowly fading away on the show and they Want to see her more, well that's what I think
I fell in love with this song originally by Glaze (Woodentoaster) Beyond her Garden. I performed the rap in Beyond her Tomb at my high school (I don't sing...like anytime) and I was loved for it :D Well I got my friends loving this song as well but now I just listen to the Living Tombstone's Remix instead of the one with iBringdaLulz & Mike on the Mic. I feel so weird that I'm only listening to dubstep....meh. Wubz are best. VINYL SCRATCH FTW!!!!!
ReplyDeleteUm...I don't mean to be disrespectful at all but how was iBringdalulz involved in this song?
ReplyDelete@Specter Von Baren
ReplyDeleteI hated rap as well but this song is like, the only exception right?
well i like this video so much i would like to be in the video.
