I for one am perfectly fine with Derpy staying our little "Wheres Waldo" style shoutout in the future! It just...works.
This game is completely dedicated to that. Find Derpy, and her three muffins, in each image. It's a pretty simple concept, but Derpy is a pretty simple pony.

Just as long as the thing doesn't go K-Fee commercial on me, I'll have a look.
ReplyDeleteI really should start working on my homework...
ReplyDeletePonies now, work later.
FOURTH!!...
ReplyDeleteWhat am I doing with my life?...
Also, awesome game!
I got through the whole game, found all of the muffins and had all of the achievements except I didn't go back to find every instance of Lyra. I'll have to come back for that one.
ReplyDeleteGot it. All the muffins, all the achievements, everything.
ReplyDeleteFinally, all of the achievements. That's a pretty cool game, I must say! I really liked that "Find Lyra" extra-challenge!
ReplyDeleteOh gosh! The sound effects make me smile every time!
ReplyDeleteIn the one scene, there are actually two Lyras, but only the obvious one is clickable. There's another, well hidden one, since background ponies tend to appear in a scene more than once.
ReplyDeleteGot 'em all!
ReplyDeleteYes! A million muffins yes! :D
ReplyDeleteHaha, that's just the best thing.
ReplyDeletethis game is so adorable :D
ReplyDeleteI beat it, got all the achievments
ReplyDeleteAll achievements get!
ReplyDeleteFun game, even though I did try and click on a couple Lyra clones that didn't count.
Got all muffins, Derpy, and Lyra. Also destroyed town hall
ReplyDeleteAll Achievements; Get!
ReplyDeletegot um all!
ReplyDeleteI lost it at level 13.
ReplyDeleteAWESOME!
ReplyDeleteOk, question for everyone, is that tan pony in the first level the same one tanning in the latest episode?
Those sound effects were incredibly annoying. Also, the difficulty didn't really scale; level 14 was one of the easiest ones. It was a fun little way to spend a few minutes, though.
ReplyDeletePretty nice game. I missed out on two achievements but I was playing this at work. I'll wait until I get home to get them all.
ReplyDeleteCannot find... that last muffin... in the last level... 'tis driving me nuts.
ReplyDeleteJust finished playing it. An awesome game! :D
ReplyDeleteOoooh Oohh! I found Lyras! all of them!
ReplyDeleteso I got all the achivments do I get a muffin?
ReplyDeleteThis is great! Always wondered whether somepony would make it! And the menu music is awesome, too!
ReplyDelete@ZeroG
ReplyDeleteEverybody gets a muffin! :D
Space... check to the right of the town hall... one blends in with the roof.... one could get mighty soggy.... the last lifted upon a structure of four legs....
ReplyDeleteYea, finally! All the achievements. And all Lyra ;)
ReplyDeleteThe roof blender. That was the one. Thanks!
ReplyDelete...And now that I've seen it I don't know how I managed to miss it. :P
All the Derpys, all the muffins, all the Lyras, town hall is destroyed. Hurrah!
ReplyDeleteVery fun game; I enjoyed finding everything and completing all of the achievements. I also liked the dynamic transition of the music between the level select and an actual level; that was a nice little touch. I do have a few suggestions... if it's alright with you...
ReplyDeleteTry to get a few more voice samples for your game, and mix things up a bit. I'd say keep the squee for menu selections, and find different voice clips for Lyra. As much as I love hearing Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy, it can get a little old hearing the exact same lines over and over again.
Add a "quit" or "give up" button during a level, in case a user wants to... well, quit or give up. Of course, any characters or muffins found wouldn't count. If space is a concern, perhaps the sound on/off option could be moved to the main menu and level select screens, and it would be replaced by the other button during a level.
If it's possible, see if you can make muffins appear in random locations instead of the same three places. That is, come up with maybe six possible spots for a muffin to show up in each level, and randomly select three of them when the user chooses a level. To compensate for the added difficulty, the timer could be increased to 30 seconds. (If this idea goes against the spirit of hidden object games, then you don't have to.)
@Sethisto
ReplyDeleteOhhhh Seth, mind to explain where my comment disappeared to?
And where is my free muffin?!
Yeah! All the achievements!
ReplyDeleteBEST GAME EVER!!
Here's where my OCD of remembering all the places Derpy has ever appeared finally pays off!
ReplyDeleteI remembered most of them, I also got all the achivments! And all within 20 minutes.
ReplyDelete@Mike
ReplyDeleteYEAH! completed in <10 minutes with all acheivements!!
...I need a new hobby...
@Pikari
ReplyDeleteGreat feedback, a lot of it was stuff I'd considered but left out due to time/ difficulty constraints. If I do a 2.0 version at the end of season 3 (which I *really* hope will not be the end of the show!) it'll include a lot of these things, as well as a whole ton of extra animation, sound effects and achievements. :)
Found Derpy and at least two muffins on the first try for each level. All achievements accomplished.
ReplyDelete@Mike
ReplyDeleteYes, you really do need a new hobby.
Yet more shitty material pumped out in honor of a shitty "character".
ReplyDelete@_OJ_
ReplyDeleteIf you're going to have that attitude then you can just gtfo, we don't need people like you here.
@Chris
ReplyDeleteNot my fault the fanbase has the collective IQ of 30.
Adorable game. Squee
ReplyDeleteWheeeeeere's Derpy?
ReplyDeleteHERE I AM!!
*barrel rolls into the town hall*
It took me ages to find the final muffin in the last level. I was starting to think there wasn't one and it was a wind-up, but after around seven or eight attempts I spotted it.
ReplyDeleteA great way to waste quarter of an hour or so.
@the-matthew
ReplyDeleteI can think of tons of other ways to kill 15 minutes other than playing a shitty flash game.
Cute : )
ReplyDelete*Puts up sign*
ReplyDeleteDO NOT FEED TROLL
@_OJ_ Whats sillier and sadder: a person who obsesses over cartoon characters, or a person who obsesses over other people who obsesses over cartoon characters?
ReplyDeleteEveryone who actually answers the question gets a muffin!
@Shadow Heart
ReplyDeleteYou're back!
Missed you.
@kris
ReplyDeleteYes, the more responses that pop up, the more there are to respond to!
Thanks kris, you're a pal for helping me out.
Beat the game :D
ReplyDeleteFinally my 21 years of playing Where's Waldo have come to be of some use!
@Dusty the Royal Janitor
ReplyDeleteTruly this is an accomplishment you can cherish for the rest of your life.
@_OJ_
ReplyDeleteIndeed it is :D
So how are you today?
@Dusty the Royal Janitor
ReplyDeleteWhy are you trying to talk to me?
I'm not telling you anything about myself.
Fuck off.
@_OJ_
ReplyDeleteAww, that's too bad. :(
I was hoping for some pleasant conversation, but I suppose everybody has a grumpy day every now and then. Hope you feel better soon :)
@Dusty the Royal Janitor
ReplyDeleteYou know what? Sure. Why not. I like conversation.
I'm actually having a very good day today. Why do you think I'm grumpy?
@_OJ_
ReplyDeleteWell, you did tell me to fuck off, but I'm glad you're having a nice day. All things considered things have been going nicely for me too :)
@Dusty the Royal Janitor
ReplyDeleteI told you to fuck off because you're weird, and I don't like weird people.
Doesn't mean I'm having a bad day, it means I wanted the weird person to fuck off.
I totally agree! Derpy is a perfect cameo character! :D
ReplyDelete@_OJ_
ReplyDeleteAh, well, I'm sorry you feel that way. Too bad, too. In my experience everybody's a little weird in their own way. People that aren't weird tend to be really boring. But I'm not that bad a guy, I've simply decided not to let things bother me. But I guess if you don't want to talk, that's your prerogative.
Well, got all the achievements but the Lyra one, got 9/10 Lyra found can't seem to get the last one lol.
ReplyDelete@Dusty the Royal Janitor
ReplyDeleteHey, I said I'd talk. You can still fuck off, but I'll gladly talk to you if you want to.
I'm just gonna play through all the levels again.
ReplyDeleteA nice, fun little game. It was a good idea to turn our weekly Derpy spotting into an actual interactive game. I forgot to look for Lyras as well, so I played the whole game twice to get everything.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great game! I enjoyed it very much.
ReplyDelete@_OJ_
ReplyDeleteWell I wouldn't want to be a bother. What would you prefer me do?
@MyBoyJ
ReplyDeleteI should learn flash, apparently people really love cheap-ass games as long as a lame pony character is in it.
@Dusty the Royal Janitor
ReplyDeleteLike I said: I said I'd talk. Ball's in your court.
Or do you want to talk about whether you want to talk or not, like you have been?
Or are you just not smart?
@_OJ_
ReplyDeleteI don't know. I don't really care either. I just don't like being a bother.
@_OJ_
ReplyDeleteOh, internet tough guy. Funny how in real life, you wouldn't be saying half the stuff you are right now to random people.
@The Rookie
ReplyDeleteOh cool, you've met me before?
What's your name? Where'd we meet? Sorry, I have a horrible memory for people I find immediately forgettable.
@The Rookie
ReplyDeleteDon't feed the parasprites.
ANY response is feeding.
@Dusty the Royal Janitor
ReplyDeleteWhy aren't you as friendly as before? Why are you not so willing to talk? I thought you wanted to talk. You've gotten very short with me. What's the matter?
@_OJ_
ReplyDeleteHaha, well I just met you here on Equestria Daily a few seconds ago. I'm sorry you have such a terrible case of amnesia.
@_OJ_
ReplyDeleteOh dear, I'm sorry. I never wanted to come across as rude. I just didn't want to bother you. That is if I was bothering you in the first place. Was I bothering you? If not then I'd be delighted to talk :) What would you like to talk about?
Oh come now Seth, there can never be too much Derpy. Thanks pepperpunk, I enjoy simple flash games like this!
ReplyDelete@Dusty the Royal Janitor
ReplyDeleteSure, let's talk.
Why do you insist on embarrassing yourself?
@The Rookie
ReplyDeleteOkay, so you've never met me before.
So you don't actually know what my response would be, then.
I'm sorry for the confusion. I thought your assumption was more than just that.
@_OJ_
ReplyDeleteOh I'm not embarrassing myself, silly! :) It's only embarrassing myself if I myself feel embarrassed. And I don't. And since I don't feel embarrassed, then I'm obviously not embarrassing myself.
Why?
@Dusty the Royal Janitor
ReplyDeleteThat's a shame, because you should be embarrassed for being such a freak.
That's why.
@_OJ_
ReplyDeleteHmmmm... no I don't think so :/
After all, I like myself the way I am, and I don't let what other people think bother me, so if I like myself how I am, then why should I be embarrassed? Even if somebody thinks I'm a freak?
Dusty the Royal Janitor, are you any relation to Elwood P. Dowd? ;)
ReplyDeleteVery fun and well-put-together little game!
@Dusty the Royal Janitor
ReplyDeleteWell I suppose if you never want to be taken seriously in life, that's your prerogative.
I like myself too and have no fucks to give as to what people think about me, but that's because I have no socially crippling obsessions.
@fargreencountry
ReplyDeleteNo, actually, I don't believe I am. But I do very much like the way Mr. Dowd looks at things. Those seem like excellent words to live by :)
@_OJ_
ReplyDeleteWho needs to be taken seriously? And if you need to be taken seriously in life, then don't you care about what other people think of you?
But I'm glad you're such a confident person. It's so nice to wake up in the morning with nothing to bother you, isn't it?
@Dusty the Royal Janitor
ReplyDeleteWhy are you getting short with me again? It's like you're losing patience or something.
@_OJ_
ReplyDeleteOh dear, I'm sorry. I didn't think I was getting short there. I do apologize if I've offended you.
Looks like someone poured himself a bowl of razor blades thinking it was his daily cereal.
ReplyDelete@_OJ_
ReplyDeleteOh dear, sadly it looks like I'm going to be late for work. It was nice talking with you though, _OJ_. Have a nice day :)
Everyone feed _OJ_'s trolling. That makes sense.
ReplyDeleteReally cute game. I loved how you could destroy the Town Hall in the last level. Nice addition. :P It took me a little while to find the third muffin in the last level too. And the Lyra achievement is cute too. :>
ReplyDeleteGuys? Hitting the reply key means he wins. Over and over and over. Just leave it.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, the game was awesome. I gave up at 8 Lyras because I lost my place, though... >.<
Awesome game. Something to ease the anticipation of Fighting is Magic.
ReplyDeleteDerpy is best waldo.
ReplyDeleteI'm disappointed that a stage is completed just for finding Derpy. It would be a REAL challenge if you had to find Derpy AND the three muffins.
ReplyDeleteLots of fun!
ReplyDeleteWell, this was a fun game for today. I wanted to play it in intervals of three or four levels each round to get myself more used to each achievement. I did enjoy the part about destroying Ponyville's town hall, especially the accompanying sound effect.
ReplyDeleteGreat game lol took me a while but I had to find Lyra.
ReplyDeleteGot it all, derpys, muffins, and lyras, plus the destroy town hall =P
ReplyDelete
