They aren't the same as episodes, but technically it's official pony adventures! This should provide some context for that tied up dash the other day.
Page one is above, and the rest can be found after the break. Thanks to Theorak for the translation!

And they're not being produced in English/America because....../
ReplyDelete*because.........?
ReplyDeletewat
ReplyDelete...
ReplyDelete...
i have no clue how to respond.
what the fuck.
since.... since... when does Dashie even remotely care how she looks?
ReplyDeletewait, what?
ReplyDeleteRomantic? o.o
@wackypony Since the orevious generation: Rainbow Dash always dresses in style!!!
ReplyDeleteYes, moar canon please.
ReplyDeleteI like this comic. Very simple. Its about friends helping each other and I like that.
ReplyDeleteSeriously, why are these being produced in Germany of all places? Why can't it be in other countries as well?
ReplyDelete@Overheat
ReplyDelete>implying Hasbro's shit marketing side is even remotely canon.
Now, when you said it was translated into English, are you sure you didn't meant Engrish?
ReplyDeleteDon't get me wrong, I don't know German, so it's not like I can do a better job but...
@Batty Gloom
ReplyDeleteBetter than Google Translate, right?
WHAT IS WRONG WITH THEIR MOUTHS?
ReplyDeleteWell, at least if shed light on why RD was tied up... However I have a feeling their romantic and our sense of the word are skewed a bit.
ReplyDeleteI imagine this is how bad the show would have been if Lauren Faust wasn't at the helm of the shows creation.
ReplyDelete@CharginChuck
ReplyDeletehorse noses, not pony noses. or, at least, show pony noses.
seriously, they should fire the entire vector team on the marketing side.
"I've got the ropes!"
ReplyDelete...What?
Haha "ive got the ropes ready!"
ReplyDelete@Trippn
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty sure you're spot on.
@Bombedrumbum
ReplyDelete-shrugs- we aren't cool enough for them? I dunno
I couldn't get past page 2.
ReplyDeleteThe art was sooooooooooooooo bad, and every character was off model in every frame. It's as if the artists had only ever seen the official vectors as reference material and have never seen the show.
And the dialogue sucks, even in german.
WHY HASBRO WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY
Considering this came from Germany, I think we got off pretty light with just bondage.
ReplyDeleteIn the first page Pinkie Pie said that Dash broke a Pinkie promise.
ReplyDeleteCelestia: Run!
@Bombedrumbum
ReplyDeleteIf they are made this poorly I think I can leave those comics in Germany.
Wow, the art in this one is much better than in the previous German issues, where the ponies were pretty much only in their vector poses!
ReplyDeleteThese aren't as good as the show, of course, but I still like them. They're cute. Fluttershy looks positively adorable in the first panel of the third page.
Though I do have to laugh at Plan B being "tie Dash up with ropes." But I guess since the most recent episode had Twilight and the gang getting into a carriage-chase to get AJ to listen, it's not that much of a stretch.
(Also, "So romantic", Twilight? And it looks like you're talking to . . . your sandwich??)
@Unknown
ReplyDeleteI guess TwiLamp can move on over, cause TwiSandwich is now canon.
"So romantic!"
ReplyDeletewat.
(misreads next part)
"And do you like Rainbow Dash?"
WAT.
@ombutscentdin Welcome to the marketing department of Hasbro
ReplyDelete@Discord
@Kyle
ReplyDeleteit reads "And do you like it Rainbow Dash?"
re-read it.
I like to imagine that this was good before it was butchered by translation and the translator didn't even attempt to make it sound right.
ReplyDeleteOh, so that's why Rainbow Dash was tied up. Because she broke a Pinkie Promise.
ReplyDelete...Actually, I think it just got creepier in a whole other way.
@Bombedrumbum
ReplyDeleteEwwww, where is the exit. I need to get out of here!
@MrSirPGW
ReplyDeleteNot as creepy as this:
http://mylittlefacewhen.com/media/f/img/mlfw2343-5cf09d57f9c02c6a4012635455c73508.jpg
@goodnamehere When somepony offers to do something nice for you . . . like translate a comic from their native language to your English . . . you should appreciate their efforts and not be overly critical. In other words, don't look a gift horse in the mouth!
ReplyDelete@wackypony
ReplyDelete.....
i'm gonna come at this like a sledgehammer: that was atrocious and i can read German, even in German it was piss poor!
ReplyDelete@wackypony
ReplyDeleteI know, that's why I said I mis-read the next part.
@Kyle
ReplyDeleteoh, didn't see that. i really should go to bed.
This comic has reminded me that I need to start using 'Naja' again.
ReplyDeleteAnd apparently, Rarity's wearing trucker caps now.
ReplyDeleteWhat
the
crap?
@wackypony
ReplyDeleteIt's cool. We can mis-read things together. Makes everything seem a lot more interesting.
Wait a minute, are those things meant to be cupcakes?
ReplyDeleteI can't even....what?
I just spotted Angel on the last page!
ReplyDeleteTwilight's not saying "How romantic", she's talking about how beautiful the scenery is... while looking at a sandwich. Makes more sense than TwiSandvich >_>
ReplyDeleteMy Little Wat: German is magic.
ReplyDelete@Schneeraubtier
ReplyDeleteif TwiLamp can set sail, then TwiSandwich sure as hell can.
@Ned
ReplyDeleteMakes sense if you listen to this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FZSBrM2SybY
I see others also thought their mouths were a little odd-looking. Yeah, the translation wasn't the best, but it's at least readable for those who can't read German.
ReplyDeletelol i require more pictures of Rarity in a trucker hat. please my fellow bronies make it happen.
ReplyDelete@Ned
ReplyDeleteGlad I'm not the only one who noticed this. Since when would Rarity be caught dead in a freakin' baseball cap?
Wow.
ReplyDeleteThat's bad.
@wackypony
ReplyDeleteI think it's just supposed to be that seeing she looked like like a wreck made her realize she really was worn out.
Okay I'm just gonna say it. I thought it was kinda cute :3
ReplyDelete@coldshoulder
ReplyDeleteI require an animation/PMV of German Trucker Rarity set to Weird Al's Truck Drivin' Song. I listened to it again and it's just such a perfect combination.
Nice trucker cap Rarity
ReplyDelete@HMorris73
ReplyDeletemaybe.
We know very very basic German, noticing errors made us want to be a grammar nazi (see what we did there?), but we only know the simple stuff, greetings and small words. been 3 years since we learned it, glad to know we remember some!
ReplyDelete@wackypony
ReplyDeleteShe doesn't care how she looks superficially, she cares that she looked tired and worn out.
Personally, I want to know what fitness-muck is. With a name like that, it really doesn't sound like something it'd be a good idea to drink.
ReplyDeleteThat was more than a little strange. Ignoring the fact they openly acknowledge Dash breaking a Pinkie Promise (although that was probably a translator's note), the lesson kinda fell flat, too. Don't work too hard, or your friends will tie you up and force you to go on a picnic? Freakin' Germany, man.
ReplyDeleteAnd don't take too much Fitness Brühe, not to be confused with Witches' Brüe.
That was... terrible.
ReplyDeleteThose mouths creep me out.
AJ breaks Pinkie Promise, Pinkie gets possessed by Satan....
ReplyDeleteRD breaks Pinkie Promise.... all is well.
I smell favoritism....
The last frame looks like Spike smoking a poorly rolled blunt.
ReplyDeleteUh, guys.
ReplyDelete1. Rainbow Dash doesn't care how she looks. If you look at the panel that talks about her mane being messed up, that's Rarity's dialog balloon.
2. Romantisism refers to the scenery.
3. Yeah, the art is extremely stiff and way off. But this was obviously thrown up just for a quick run.
4. The dialouge isn't "bad". It's translated literally with no localization made for English sentence structure.
Wait, what the hell was Plan A? Wait for her to hurt herself?
ReplyDeleteI own one of the German comics.
ReplyDeleteI got money on upcoming Twilight-with-Sandwich art.
ReplyDeleteHad to double take on the last frame... was SURE Spike was using a bong.
ReplyDeleteThe last page just fuels the "Spike is a stoner" idea.
ReplyDeletewe have these in Poland too and these comics are pretty terrible most of the fan-made comics are better(both story and art-wise) and these guys don't get payed for doing it
ReplyDeleteThese faces...
ReplyDeleteOh Celestia these faces...
Ph’nglui mglw’nafh Cthulhu R’lyeh wgah’nagl fhtagn
Look carefully at the picnic panel on last page. I wonder what sweets did they take...
ReplyDelete"fitness muck" ROFL
ReplyDeleteThe moral is similar to Applebuck season. But one of the panels have a word that is simliar to beginning, but it got translated to start?
ReplyDeleteNow im proud to be a german again xD
ReplyDeleteDoes anybody know how the magazin is called?
ReplyDeleteActually it wasn't a pinkie promise, the translator just added that. pinkie said "but she said she'll defitnetly come!". And Twilight really said "it's so romantic", talking about the scenery.
ReplyDeletebesides that, I really like the logic behind this one!
- "RD trains too much"
- "she should rest!"... by attending a walking tour!
- RD gets forced to stop flying so she can rest
- still flies at the tour
- everypony is happy
dafuq?
SANDWICHES ARE ROMANTIC.
ReplyDeleteWow. Dat translation.
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm the first to point out that Pinkie has Fluttershy eyes.
ReplyDeleteI'm finding it hard to love and tolerate the people who make these. I would gladly take their jobs, even if I had to move to Germany, learn German and do every page by myself.
ReplyDeleteSpike rolling joints at the end, there.
ReplyDeleteEh, I've seen worse. Don't bash it too much for the dialog, it was a (mostly) direct translation. It's like bad translations of video games from the 16 and 32-bit eras, they're just the bare words run through Bablefish, a lot of context gets lost unless it's cleaned up a bit. And am I the only one who took Dash's "I look like a wreck" as "I look worn out and over worked" and not "OMG I don't look like I'm dressing in style! I ALWAYS dress in style!"?
ReplyDeleteOkay...
ReplyDelete"Do whatever you can to stop your friends from overtraining and eating too little" isn't a bad moral, especially in these days when even young kids are overscheduled with sports. There's also the shadow of "Keep an eye on your friends to keep them from getting anorexia", but they don't want to bring that up openly at that age.
ReplyDeleteThis was terrible from beginning to end. And here I was, thinking the ponies might end up getting the same treatment as Donald Duck (You'd be AMAZED at how popular the Ducks are in Europe).
ReplyDeleteZetsuboushita.
By Celestia, I hate this "comic". I hate it even more than the german dub of the series, why did they have to do this? I don't get it.
ReplyDeleteDid anyone see those flowing locks on dat last page?
ReplyDeleteStory's kinda meh. Kids are capable of appreciating an intelligent storyline as much as we are, but considering this is more likely to be a cynical tie-in, I wasn't expecting anything better.
ReplyDeleteWhat bothers me is that the ponies are smiling WAAAAAY too much. Seriously? You couldn't depict them with any real emotion? This is a licensed Hasbro product, isn't it? Couldn't they copy vectors from the show? Don't they have access to screenshots?
Showing actual disappointment would take very little time and effort, considering that Faust and the animation team have already done all the hard work.
BY CELESTIA'S BEARD those ponies look so damn creepy and wrong! The story's not much to look at either, but damn are those panels scary.(not even taking into account the bondage)
ReplyDeleteI don't know about you guys but the art is so... 'bad' it looks adorable as heck.
ReplyDeleteAlso reading all that German almost made me break into song. I managed to control myself until page two when Fluttershy said 'hast du dir weh getan?'.
DU
DU HAST
DU HAST MICH
I managed to stop there, but then Fluttershy said, "sie hat nein gesagt" in page 3.
DU HAST MICH GEFRAGT, UND ICH HAB NICHS GESAGT
The part with the rope is so funny, because that could be easily read out of context! XD
ReplyDeletewait wait wait
ReplyDeleteWHAT????
Mostly I'm just surprised Germany has one and not Russia. Russia's still got a TMNT comic running over there, for crying out loud: if anyone would want a comic starring cartoon animals, it's them.
ReplyDeleteOh Germany. you make brain my properly work not. RainbowDash also always dresses in style. ALWAYS.
ReplyDeleteThose eyes. The horror, the horror. Kill it w/ fire.
ReplyDeleteOk.. realize this, the timing of this, would it be after 'Applebuck Season' airs in Germany?
ReplyDeleteThen that makes sense.. and yes these are the 'Nightmare Fuel' vectors here.. but truckercap Rarity is a definate save.
@ZAquanimus
ReplyDeleteEither it's poor word choice, or the older definition of Romantic (evocative of strong emotions) is in play.
It wasn't until the last century or two that Romantic meant 'love'. Before that it could also mean creepy or breathtaking or haunting.
@90749cbe-0b11-11e1-82e8-000bcdcb5194
ReplyDeletelolwut? If there's any TMNT comics in Russia it's old issues that only recently found way to market.
On topic:
So many priceless moments in this. Ridiculous plan A, trucker Rarity (who knows, maybe it's high fashion in Germany), fitness-muck, smokin' Spike, Twilight and her romantic sandwich
You'r welcome!
ReplyDeleteYeah, I translated and it may sound "simple" formulated. But it gives a taste how weak the syntax is in german.
Agreed, the comic look disturbing, actually the editor of the magazin have access to the orginal vectors, but only using them on the other pages.
I lol'd at Fluttershy's constant wingboner.
ReplyDeleteAt least Rainbow's got tied up. :3
@Marlon
ReplyDeleteThats the source of evil: http://www.paninionline.com/collectibles/institutional/de/de/scheda_prodotto.asp?idEdit=7984
now i hate germans
ReplyDeleteI think I can safely say that I have read crappy fan fics that were better then thin :/
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeletePoor Twilight... Someday she'll learn what romance is.
ReplyDeletePart of Pinkie's eyes look a little bit like Fluttershy's eyes. I don't get it.
ReplyDeleteSome bad translations in it. (Native speaker)
ReplyDeleteSo, Dash ends up tied up, Twilight comments that it's "So romantic", and Dash is asked how she likes to get it...
ReplyDeleteNo, no unintentional innuendo here, not at all.
@Ardashir I was going to comment on how incriminating Twi's 'How romantic' was, but I think you pretty much said it all. |-D
ReplyDeleteWE make a lot more decent comics than these. Veggie among other awesome pony artists must be pretty disgusted by this stuff too. I mean... they don't even have real expressions. Just, WHY?! And HOW is it even possible that they made this without ever even seeing the actual show for better reference models? The characters don't even have any personality whatsoever.
ReplyDeleteThis is exactly like G3... Brb, gotta get my shotgun and find the idiots who made this.
@Glowy Pie
ReplyDeleteWhoa, calm down there, buddy.
Just remember-love and tolerance. Love and tolerance.
I hereby issue a challenge to any and every brony reading this: remake this entire 5-page comic panel-for-panel, but include fan vectors, polished English, and FREAKING EMOTIONS.
ReplyDeleteOver to you.
I don't like to complain but (sounds like Fluttershy) the pictures look a little wierd the characters are out of place the plot was meh and the dialogue was ugh also when has Rainbow ever cared how she looks she usually has her mane a little messy and she's Rainbow I mean seriously
ReplyDeletewell that's just funny
ReplyDeleteI think when she said she looked like a mess, she was referring to the bags under her eyes. You know, the ones that suddenly appeared when the mirror came out.
ReplyDelete@Yappy
ReplyDeleteChallenge accepted.
That was different
ReplyDelete
