I didn't even know it was possible to have lines like that on a pumpkin. Seriously, half of deviant art can't do that even with photoshop (and believe me, I see a whole lot of scribbles every day doing the drawfriend posts!)
In case you didn't notice it already, it's time for pumpkins. Below the break you will find a whopping 74 of them.

PUMPKINS.
ReplyDeletefirst
ReplyDeleteWitchcraft. That's the only possible explanation for these jack-o-lanterns being so creepily good.
ReplyDelete@duckhunter Pumpkins overpowered your first.
ReplyDelete"Posted by SethistoX"?
ReplyDeleteCongrats to your first X!
ReplyDelete6/7th.
ReplyDeleteWHY IS EVERYTHING BELOW ME, BLACK?
ReplyDeleteDerpy Hooves being the first pic is well deserved.
ReplyDeleteMad props to all these guys.
ReplyDeleteI attempted a Trixie pumpkin (a real simple one too), and it was an epic fail, so to see these guys do much more technical stuff is kinda scary.
Holy. Hell..
ReplyDeleteYou're right, I couldn't do this with Photoshop! Never mind actual pumpkins!
First pumpkin is best pumpkin.
ReplyDeleteWhoopie
ReplyDeleteSome real serious carving skills on some of these pumpkins. lol And yes, Seth... uhhh... X? lol Dat interesting name variation. But you can get really nice lines on a pumpkin, especially with the right carving tools. :P Pony pumpkins are the BEST pumpkins! :D
ReplyDeleteThese are, amazing to say the least, great job everypony!
ReplyDelete@MagicLlama
ReplyDeleteWah? Who's SethistoX? Some kind of doppelganger?
These are awesome! =D
ReplyDeleteSo... Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteSeriously, some of this pumpkins are hard core. I am impressed!!! Great work everypony! <3
I can't believe some of these.
ReplyDelete#58 came out amazingly well. I mean it looks near correctly colored.
Wow, shame that they have a shelf life but, still alot of thoes are celestia trier work, good job and keep on poning fellas(and fillies).
ReplyDeleteI just took a closer look at the Derpy one. Holy hell that one has some complex carving done on it.
ReplyDelete@Detoxicity Probably Phoe or something.
ReplyDeleteOr Seth just wants a cooler name.
These are fantabbydosi! I'd love to see the faces on the people who don't have a clue about what these all are :D
ReplyDelete...HOW ARE THESE SO GOOD!?
ReplyDeleteMy god, professional grade much?
So many Pumpkins...
ReplyDeleteSome of these are just mind-blowing. Wow.
ReplyDeleteSeth's Evil twin brother?

NO PAINT DAUBS
*dah dah dah daaah dun*
I was going to list the ones I liked but as it turns out I liked almost all of them, they are fantastic.
ReplyDeleteI really like the way that 0,1,15,16,17 and 21 have been done (and any more along those lines) since thats as far as I got before I realised I would be forced to skip every second one and still have a huge post.
They have some really really detailed carving on them, far better than what I could have done.
Ditzy has a cute ass.
ReplyDeleteHell, I admit it.
Some of these guys can carve a pumpkin better than I can draw...
ReplyDeleteMine looks terrible next to most of em. Ah well, had a lot of fun doing it.
ReplyDeleteWow some of those are fantastic. I'm always a sucker for derpy :)
ReplyDeleteDamn Bronies, you talented!
ReplyDeleteAnyone seen my jaw? I think I dropped it on the floor somewhere around here...
ReplyDeleteWow, these are some really awesome pumpkins. Especially like 24, 45 and 76. 58 is typical pinkie breaking the 4th wall looking stuff.
ReplyDeleteThese pumpkins are probably better than I could have done.

ReplyDeleteOh my goodness these are amazing. :O
ReplyDeleteOh my goch, not nearly enough credits could be given to all of the amazing people who made these.
ReplyDelete#45 the faces have been doubled
ReplyDelete45 and 58 OMG!!!
ReplyDeleteMost of them put mine to shame!
ReplyDeleteThis post is SO AWESOME! /)^3^(\
SethistoX? Strange, oh well, these were incredible, although, it would have been nice if they were all lit and with the lights off, which the majority were, but...uh, whatever you wanna do is fine...
ReplyDeleteNever have gourd looked so good to me
ReplyDeleteYES. That is all.
ReplyDeleteAnd this is why I love Halloween. You people are amazing, you are!
ReplyDeleteThey are all so good... >.<
ReplyDeleteWow. Those are amazing! I didn't think such things were possible with pumpkins.
ReplyDeleteYou sure some of these (number 58) weren't made by the real animation team? Because these are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI didn't want to clog my picasa folder with pumpkins, so I used my Trixie account.
ReplyDeleteThere's so much win here.
ReplyDeletePumpkins are apparently amazing art forms.
ReplyDeleteI am stun.
Oh dear lord, these are awesome! I was grinning the whole way down the list! Those first two are absolute marvels, and I love the multi-sided displays (and especially the projection of the Nightmare Moon out the back of #45). I love the scenes people chose to do as well, from the Mare in the Moon, to Pinkie's Evil Enchantress dance, to Rarity and Applejack's spooky hooves and the taunting children at the end. Crazy Twilight, cutie marks... So much Luna! And so many excellent pictures of the ponies just being themselves to boot.
ReplyDeleteSweet work one and all... thanks for sharing!
Its... Its beautiful! *sniff*
ReplyDeleteThere all fricking awesome! *throws money at screen*
These are all brilliant! I can't even tell which one I like the best. It takes a lot of skill to do this! And thank you for including my Lyra pumpkin! ^___^
ReplyDeleteall I can say is: WHOA!
ReplyDeleteThese are all awesome-sauce, all my money to those who made them!
58 is so incredibly good I seriously stopped and said "what" out loud three times before continuing.
ReplyDeletethese r so amazing O.O
ReplyDeleteHoly horseapples! That's quite a few pumpkins!
ReplyDeleteToo bad all of the pumpkins being sold in my town were rotten...
I wonder how many folks needed multiple tries to get their pumpkins right with all the detail work put into them... In any case, I hope the animation team end up viewing the gallery - seeing the work the fans put in would be yet another pat on the back to the team's hard work.
ReplyDeleteAt times like this I wish we had Halloween in my country :(
ReplyDelete@Sethisto
ReplyDeleteI thought your trixie account was just "The Great and Powerful Trixie"
This is ridiculous!!! I hope you send these pics to Studio B, they'll love them.
ReplyDeleteAs I was scrolling through I saw #45 and actually shouted 'YES!'
The first one wins all my internets. Seriously, check out his gallery, so much win there!
ReplyDelete@C-Puff
ReplyDeleteHave you some nightmare night then. :D
Woot, my twilight got up there. It could have been better, but it was my first time trying this kind of thing.
ReplyDeleteStill, fun :)
#50 btw
And good lord some of these are amazing.
To a lot of these I have but one thing to say. Sorry. No paint daubs!
ReplyDeleteWow, so much awesome work here. Love the first Derpy one, and a bunch of others as well.
ReplyDeleteCarving my pumpkins for the contest has given me a real appreciation for the work that goes into these.
I quite like the name SethistoX. Suits you somehow. Awesome pumpkins, being british and all we don't take as much pride with pumpkin carving. At least up in St. Helens we don't so I don't get to try stuff like this but this stuff rocks!
ReplyDeleteThey're all fantastic, but I keep going back to #58. That one just knocks me for a loop! So well done!
ReplyDeleteWow! So many really great ones; tought to say which is my favorite! But here's a list that really stood out to me
ReplyDelete0:SO GOOD! This deserves the title image. Funny, well done. Hilarious!
13: Fun! I like this method, the outliney thing is fun.
17:Great job copying the original and making Scratchy look eeeeevil.
24: EEEEEEEEEEEVIL! The eyes here are just so good.
27: Gorgeous flames and a beautiful phoenix.
29: The filligree on this piece is incredible.
42: The stars in the mane are just great.
45: On this one too. It's a great piece.
49: Squeee! The music of the gourds!
52: Basic, but beautiful.
53: Scary pinky is adorable.
58: If I had to make a choice this would be in the running. It is so good. It is so. so. good.
And of course 76. Great in its terrifyingness.
Top four:

All of you fabulous pumpkin carvers should be so proud. You did a great job. =)
24 wins!
ReplyDeleteThese are all so amazing! I must join in this fun next year. The fun must be doubled!
ReplyDeleteThat Derpy pumpkin was pretty epic.
ReplyDeleteAlso, does #28 have the trollface as 1st prize?

ReplyDeleteO_O These are INCREDIBLE!
ReplyDeleteI love this fandom so much.
Creator of #35 here, that thing took 8 hours to carve and is already nearly spoiled but by Celestia, it was worth it.

Sigh, guess my original comment didn't go through..or maybe replaced when i replied to it to correct a typo?
ReplyDeleteNot typing that out again... but, great job everypony! I am both impressed and somewhat jealous.
#0, #58, and #76 has blown my mind
you forgot some

@Ish Nice job with it. I thought I was being creative when I carved that image, but it looks like it was actually a pretty popular choice. I guess great minds think alike. My Celestia didn't make it on the list, but my other two did (#49). That Octavia/Scratch took 21 hours.
ReplyDelete27, DAT PHILOMENA!!!
ReplyDeletealso, i thing number 45 would be more EPIC if it was Luna in the front, and the nightmare moon siluete in the back
still, ITS A VERY AWESOME PUNKING!!!
PUMPKIN IS THE BEST PONY!
ReplyDeleteMan, these are awesome. I wanna do one next year now! :D Thanks for throwing this together an great job to all the pumpkin carvers out there.
ReplyDeleteI made applejack going OoooOOOooOOooO in a pumpkin, i was good too.... Couldn't post it though :(
ReplyDeleteMy pumpkin started out as a crazy Twilight then became something else...
ReplyDeleteHow do people do these?!?!?!? My pumpkins always look like I punched them in the face.
ReplyDeleteYou all deserve a massive round of applause, all of these are amazing! One Hundred Ponies for each of you!
ReplyDeleteI love all of this art:)
ReplyDelete58, the colors work amazingly well.
ReplyDeleteI wish I wasn't so busy this Halloween! I was totally going to do something for this, but I didn't even get time to carve a pumpkin. I am one sad brony now. On the bright side, these are really well done. Probably much better than what I would have been able to do.
ReplyDeleteAwesome! Too bad we don't celebrate halloween where I live.
ReplyDelete#58 Really caught my eye WOW!
ReplyDeleteCutie Mark Crusaders Pumpkin Carvers! YAY!
ReplyDeleteholy colt, we got some tallented pumkin carvers....
ReplyDeleteAwesome! Best Nightmare Night ever!
ReplyDeleteAwww...was so hoping to see mine up here. :/
ReplyDeleteNearly all of these are excellent, with very good motifs. Still, my top 3 (in no particular order):
ReplyDelete24: Those eyes! The most extreme use of lightning/chiaroscuro out of all of them. Very effective overall.
45: The detail is simply stunning. Nice, soft transitions. Clever usage of the pumpkin medium: I love the shadowgraphy-image projected in the background!
58: Yes, it is great. I think it was actually painted for effect (not that I'm complaining). The smoothness of the edges and the tonal consistency are definite highlights.
Wow, those are...epic. I hope the MLP staff saw them and were chuffed. =)
ReplyDeleteThat first Ditzy Doo one was amazing!
ReplyDeleteMy attempted Littlepip was an epic failure, it collapsed in on itself. Maybe next year :)
These are all amazing. 0_0
ReplyDeletePumpkins! Y U so bloody awesome?!
ReplyDeleteEspecially #1^^
Actually, the first one is really good as well. Yet another example of creative use of the material! I just kind of blanked out on it, since it was already spotlighted...
ReplyDeleteThese...these are brony artists at their finest *sniffles*
ReplyDeleteIn the words of Pinkie Pie, "You know what this calls for? A PARTY!"
What pumpkin?
ReplyDeleteI walked around the neighborhood asking for free candy.
ReplyDeleteA PUMKIN?
ReplyDeleteA PUMKIN.
(#6)
Wow, those are some awesome pumpkins. Happy Halloween!!
ReplyDeleteThe most epic of brohoofs to all!!
ReplyDeleteLOL, #28 First place goes to 'drum roll' the troll
ReplyDeleteThose pumpkins are Bitchin!
ReplyDeleteOoh #77 must have been added recently.
ReplyDeleteThat's clever, cute, and very well done.
HUZZA FOR PUMPKINFRIEND #1!!!
24 - Badass Dashie! I love it! He's got those Twilight Eyes down pat!
ReplyDeleteIf I only had a fraction of the talent of some of these people. If only...
ReplyDeleteWhile mine didn't turn out how I hoped (rushed to get turned in on time), I still like it. So many great carvings in this collection. Definite favorites were the first and 58.
ReplyDeleteSomeone should R34 that pumpkin.
ReplyDeleteThese are all better than what I can do. Definitely voting for #0, that stuff is ridiculous! And 21 was a close second :)
ReplyDeleteWhat we need here on EQD is a costume contest of some sort. Maybe not so much as a contest, but more of something that was seen during the Ponies Around the World Event.
ReplyDeleteThese people carve pumpkins better than I draw on paper. -_-|
ReplyDeleteSome of these are AMAZING!
ReplyDeleteHow may i put my pumpkin in here?
ReplyDeleteI bet I could do that.
ReplyDeleteAssuming that I had a few weeks, high precision machining equipment, and three of the artists displayed above...
Seriously, how did these happen? How is it even possible to make a pumpkin do that?
@Willow Pony See that button at the top of the page that says "submit"?
ReplyDeleteClick it.
I gotta give the win to the Vinyl Scratch pumpkin.
ReplyDelete45, 58, and 77. Definetely
ReplyDeleteOh wow. Creepy twilight is even creepier on a pumpkin!
ReplyDeleteWhoa... just, Wow! These are amazing. All of them are. They're just fantastic.
ReplyDeleteI didn't even know pumpkins can be a great canvas use for curvatures. Well done all of you.
I can't even carve a regular pumpkin... :0
ReplyDeleteNow I know why I stick with writing.
They're all amazing, but numbers 1, 24, and 58 are the best.
ReplyDeleteThese force me to redefine 'awesome' as they are well beyond what I previously thought it meant.
ReplyDeleteDerpy = Halloween...
ReplyDelete...and thx for including mine! I picked up some ideas for next year from these highly creative submissions.
I think they all win.
ReplyDeleteThere are way too many badass carvings to decide on just one.
Oh my Celestia, 58...
ReplyDeleteBarring that, the Discord one. Where is all teh Discord love?

I tried doing Rainbow Dash's Cutiemark, it was no where near as good as any of these
ReplyDeleteCarver of #62 here. Next year I plan to do something much more detailed, now that I have some ideas for how to do this kind of carving. Sadly, the picture I submitted with mine of my girlfriend's Pinkemina Diane Pie didn't get posted, which is too bad because it turned out very well. A lot of these are just amazing to see though, really need to bring the a-game next year.
ReplyDelete*goes and gets all the pumpkins the local store is giving away so they don't get thrown out and starts practicing*
And suddenly, pumpkins.
ReplyDeleteI love so many of these! 76 and 45 are probably my favorites, but there are so many good ones! I thought 29 was very well done, and 30 is hilarious as a pumpkin.
ReplyDeleteHoly Crap!
ReplyDeleteThat First Derpy.
The rest of them are freaking awesome as well.
58. wow my fav amazing. 49/2 runnerup.
ReplyDeleteDoh! I forgot to send mine in.
ReplyDeletehttp://www.framwinkle.com/MyArt/myart/2011Pumpkin.jpg
Of those posted, though, I think #58 is my favorite. It's just so Pinkie Pie!
They are all the best. Though the Pinkie Pie ones are besterer.
ReplyDeletePumpkins... how do they work?!
ReplyDeleteWow, #76... I guess you painted yours a bit? Pretty awesome. I only had a carving knife, and used a highlighter to highlight areas to carve. (Mine is #59) Pretty awesome job! Love #0 too.
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love: 1, 3, 13, 15, 17, 21, 24 and 36, 45, 49, 53, 60, 61, 64 and 77! Amazing work! Including the opening image! All I did was carve a 4chan smiley, lol.
ReplyDeleteI am so jelly of you guys. These were all really good, some of them exceptionally good.
ReplyDeleteYou know, I hadn't really looked that closely earlier, but #48 is actually pretty funny if you look at all the ponies carefully.
ReplyDelete21,52 & 58
ReplyDelete0 is best vote for detail.
ReplyDelete24 is favourite of mine.
0, 37, 38 & 58 are my favourites. My top pick is definitely the first one, though. All really good. o.o
ReplyDeleteDang impressive!!!
ReplyDelete...How is this level of expertise even humanly possible?
ReplyDeleteThere is only one explanation!
These were not done by humans, but by ponies!
Because ponies are awesome and can carve pumpkins without logic.
Awwwh, and I even made one and missed out on the contest because I didn't even know there was one on... :<
ReplyDeleteMan these are amazing!
ReplyDeleteI made a derpy hooves with sunglasses, I shoulda sent it in, but I forgot..
I can't really tell if mine looks good.. I guess it's nice for a first time.
All these make me feel horrible about myself though :P
Is there going to be any sort of vote on this? A pick five favorites vote would be nice
ReplyDeleteThe magic of pumpkin carving..
ReplyDelete#58 Looks like it's ready to pop out into our world!
ReplyDelete#76 Ok, I wan't planning on sleeping tonight...
