Some people will have an interest in things you don't like, and you need to be tolerant of this fact. Nothing wrong with asking things that you might find offensive to be hidden behind a link, but to demand it be removed... That's not your right to control. Seth can always choose to follow your request, but then it becomes offensive to those who don't appreciate the forced censorship. Those people would MUCH prefer a hidden link than to have it removed.
I'm blown away by how many people believe they have a right to take away things from others.
Grow up, and learn the world isn't yours to command.
To those of you who have grown up, and know how to just go "ugh" and then move on... I commend you!

Personally I'd be fine with saucy stuff being restricted to the SEVERAL sites that proudly sport such things and that people know exist. Having that stuff here is unnecessary when there are plenty of places that have that sort of content. With EqD we should be playing it safe.

I can see why sometimes, A LOT of people use MLP as an escape from the real world and would like to keep it "pure" so to speak.

If the pictures are that bothersome why don't you shoot off an email to seth though I doubt it will do anything. He's already hidden them behind links and it's the users choice if they choose to view it. I'm not gonna complain about the pictures because seth made a compromise months ago and because this discussion has been redundant.
ReplyDeleteThe show is not being corrupted. It will still be there and it will still be for kids. The kids aren't coming to Equestria Daily. The fans are. It has always been about artistic freedom, and I'm all for 100% leeway given. Even Cupcakes deserves to exist. A warning and a hidden link are sufficient enough for me. If an accident happens and tender eyes are ruined(cough Sweetiepoo pic cough), well then let the admins do something about it. Otherwise, boo freaking hoo. A little sauciness isn't a bad thing. These are only mildly suggestive, and the characters are adults.

But to each their own I suppose; I just do my very best to avoid things I don't like seeing, and when I do encounter them it's not usually too hard to look the other way and move on...

I thought about this for a whole day, and I realized that it's just not fair to say you and the thousands of others who enjoy what you do can't have the sauce up here. Hell, it was made by fans, why shouldn't the fans get to enjoy it in return?
But more to the point, I realized that I have my own weird fetishes (not that what you and others have is a fetish), and to be told by others that I am a freak because of them would make me feel the way you probably do now (I won't say what they are, but they're not pony related). I guess I wasn't able to put myself into your shoes as immediately as I should have been able to.
So I apologize to you, and everyone who has to put up with other Bronies talking down to you and the others in this community who happen to enjoy certain parts of the fandom that others do not. I may not be the biggest fan of this sauce, but I'll defend to the death your right to enjoy it.
