Sadly the bottom shirt in the image was actually a design created by an artist in the fandom (Megasweet), and used without permission. I reported about this in the nightly roundup a few days ago, but I figured I'd split it off here.
Apparenty someone did contact Megasweet. The design has been put on hold. Someone else submitted it to the Mighty Fine tee shirt contest without permission, and Hot Topic was unaware of it. Glad that's being taken care of! More information, and the thread about it can be found here!
Regardless, we are now considered "trendy". How does it feel?

Not considered trendy? More like now considered trendy.
ReplyDeleteSilly typing errors, still love you Seth!
Feels bad, man.
ReplyDeleteHot Topic is somewhat famous for stealing artists' work. /sigh
ReplyDeleteThis is concerning. While I enjoy the ease in obtaining shirts should they be available at retailers around the country, I don't like the fact that they stole that image from MS. I'll abstain my opinion until we see what Hot Topic has to say about it.
ReplyDeleteUrban Outfitters is known for this kind of theft as well. Between the two, they've hurt a lot of independent designers. Its why I never buy from either one.
ReplyDeleteI honestly don't care for Hot Topic.
ReplyDeleteHmmm, not going to suport art theft so Im not going to buy from them
ReplyDeleteWell, Bronies are a big enough niche now for HT to start carrying Brony merchandise. Depends what you call "trendy". lol In HT terms, we are. In the overall public's eyes, no. :P
ReplyDeleteIt's sad they did this. Took someone's design without permission. But I heard others say they've done this numerous times before too.
Hopefully it gets sorted out. But I won't be surprised if nothing comes of it either.
The disappointing part is that if Megasweet actually received a cut of the profits, I'd buy that shirt in a heartbeat.
ReplyDeleteI will hopefully buy a shirt and wear it proudly around my school. It will so AWESOME!
ReplyDeleteMore than likely cost more than the other ones. Lower quality, too. Ripping off the design just adds insult to injury.
ReplyDeleteWhatev's, I'll only buy my pony swag from licensed bronies. Ripping off one of the fandom's best artists is NOT COOL. not even 20% >.>
ReplyDeleteQ_Q
ReplyDeletewe all liked ponies before it was trendy
ReplyDeleteI didn't know they were such thieves, It wouldn't be hard to make your own design. I'd rather buy the shirt from the person who made it, but that is expensive, so I just won't buy one.
ReplyDeleteIs there a brony patent law specialist around? I want to know about how Megasweet could get its wedge of the market back.
Hot Topic's been known to do this stuff before :c
ReplyDeleteThis is downright DESPICABLE.
ReplyDeleteThey have been doing that to the best of the Furry artists for a while also. It doesn't even surprise me anymore.
ReplyDeleteOh, good to hear something actually is being done about it and they're looking into it now.
ReplyDeleteSo hot topic has been known to steal artwork? Damn... And they're one of my favorite clothing stores :(
ReplyDeleteJust so everypony knows, Hot topic doesn't steal designs. They're just a distributor, they don't do any design work themselves. Mighty Fine is supplying them with pony shirts, so even if it was intentional, it would be on them.
ReplyDeleteNice, now I can go all
ReplyDelete*hipsterderpy*
I liked ponies before they were cool.
...
Actually, that would be a fun shirt design. Hipster Derpy saying "I watched cartoons about horses before it ws cool".
Hot Topic is too expensive for my tastes, 20 bucks for 1 shirt is no bueno. Also I would really love the shirts on welovefine.com to drop down to a more reasonable price as well. $25 plus $5 for shipping for 1 shirt is also ridiculous.
ReplyDelete@Aceed
ReplyDeleteI would give all my monies for one of those shirts.
As for trendiness? Feels kind of tingly.
Hot Topic, you are dissapoint
ReplyDeleteHmm....I hope they will fix this issues, I was about to say, If they do plan to sell this in every HT around the states...I'd buy one
ReplyDeletei hope megasweet gets a part of the profits and credit for the design and we'll all be happy but it seems hot topi has done this before doesn't it?
ReplyDeleteEugh, do not want, I really don't care for this to become akin to the kid I saw at a target today wearing a shirt with a "Hangover" reference.
ReplyDeleteLet's have the brony shirts remain an online only thing please.
Can't really purchase online, so it is nice to have them retail, but that art theft thing isn't cool...i'm torn honestly.

ReplyDeleteHehehe, Seth! ya gotta apologize to Hot Topic, dude! Anyway, nice shirts!
ReplyDeleteWell, its cool theyre easily obtainable... but now it seems like it'll be too mainstream soon. When everyone can get a shirt it'll be pretty... passe I guess? plus im pissed cuz i was just there yesterday hoping i might get some of the first batch.
ReplyDeleteWait! Ponies are getting trendy!
ReplyDeleteHIPSTER GAUGE IS NOW BROKEN!
but no in all seriousness this is epic and would be a good reason to go to Hot Topic.
There went my night. I would have been happier to see pony shirts at Target. But Hot Topic? Eww.
ReplyDeleteEw no, mainstream ruins everything and it's going to be pretty annoying with all of these kida running around like "LOL I WATCH PONIES I'M SO KEWL AND STUFF" when they haven't even seen an episode.
ReplyDeleteSo wait...we want to recruit people to the herd, but don't want to be mainstream...? How does that even work?
ReplyDeleteI just hope the fact that it gets "trendy" doesn't hurt the original image/message.
ReplyDeleteHas anyone seen those shirts with "Cool Story Bro" and than they utterly ruined the phrase with smaller text saying "Tell that again".
I mean like what the heck? Is it so hard to research for five seconds that "Cool Story Bro" implies no one cares. And the same goes for butchering "Come at me Bro" where various designs of the shirt seem to imply like a welcoming kind of bro-five or something instead of inciting a fight.
As long as this doesn't happen, I'll be fine. Which is should be because it's a much more established image like Chuck Norris or something.
Yeah I know Chuck Norris trend was beaten to death, I blame Family Guy and the people who caught on to the trend because of it
The floodgates have opened....... not sure how I feel about this.... I would DIE for one of those shirts.... but I don't want brony posers running around...
ReplyDeleteFuck Hot Topic and fuck the goths, emos, and scene kids who shop there.
ReplyDelete@iAndster
ReplyDeleteOh man, does this mean that we're hipster bronies now? We watched Friendship is Magic BEFORE it was cool, man. All those stupid poser kids ruining our magic, hurr hurr.
so if we're trendy we'll be mainstream and if we're mainstream we can say we wathed it before it was cool.......
ReplyDeleteGo Go gadget hipster¡¡¡
i went today to my nearest hot topic and they didnt have it, my first and possibly last time i go into a hit topic...anything that hits hot topic shelves means that...*gulp*...
ReplyDelete@Flutteryay @Flutteryay 0.o So much for love and tolerance....
ReplyDelete@Drumfreak2421
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry, but love and tolerance ends with scene kids.
@Flutteryay Perhaps you have a bit of truth there... They sure as heck wear on my tolerance....
ReplyDelete*inafter "Its the end of the fandom!!111" posts, I don't really know I'm not going to check*
ReplyDeleteI think this is a good thing. Now these shirts are easier to get. And its not the end of the fandom or the world. Hot Topic isn't as bad as everyone says it is. And if you don't like it, no one is making you shop there.
This comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteHot Topic does a good job of screwing independent artists.
ReplyDeleteBut there have been poseurs for as long as there have been real fans of anything.
If they were actual fans it would be one thing, but most of these kids that shop at Hot Topic are the types who would wear a Megadeth or Iron Maiden shirt not because they actually like the band, but because "it looks cool"
ReplyDeleteGah, I hate Hot Topic. And the worst part is one of my good friends, who's a girl-brony, really likes the store, so I can't even go post this in our secret Facebook group expressing my anger at them ruining something I love so much. I'm sorry, but I refuse to tolerate and love this.
ReplyDeleteSo I guess there isn't much more to say than EFF YOU HOT TOPIC AND MAY YOU BE SENTENCED TO THE MOON FOR A THOUSAND YEARS.
I for one welcome the new fans. MORE POWER TO THE HERD!
ReplyDeleteRarity needs to sing "Art of the T-Shirt".
ReplyDeleteListen fillies and colts, we are not the first cultural phenomenon to have our folksy ways appropriated by the mainstream. It happens all the time, so just take it as a fucking compliment that some little asshole wants to be like you. Support the show's success and stop being a little bitch.
ReplyDeleteIf...IF... This leads to a mass influx of "poser bronies" (pronies?) then I say the following: we were here before them, and we'll be here long after they are gone. Nuff said. I think that some will come in and like the show for what it is, and others will bandwagon, as with all things. That's not being a hipster, it's being a true fan. As long as this Megasweet situation is handled properly, I say the more the merrier...
ReplyDelete@Flutteryay They couldn't name an Iron Maiden album even if it was written on the T-Shirt. I guess all we can do is wait and see at this point.
ReplyDeleteI'm just surprised that the Pony shirts they're selling aren't Cupcakes-themed, because literally all the band t-shirts I've seen at Hot Topic have been grotesque or gory.
ReplyDeleteI suddenly feel like hipster.
ReplyDeleteIt feels bad, pony...
ReplyDeleteSo this is what it feels like to be a hipster......
ReplyDeleteWe'll I'm not a hipster or anything (actually I hat them), but the fact that MLP is now so called 'trendy' is a bit of a worry. People will be wearing thinking 'oh I'm cool i watch MLP' without even watching the darn show. Hot topic ruins everything. But now saying that i suddley feel like a hipster feels pretty weird :)
ReplyDeleteIf there are "Poser Bronies" then at least we can all take comfort in the fact that they find us 20% cooler then them.
ReplyDeleteI think Hot Topic must have pulling a shirt based on copyright claim down to a science. They do this all the time! There must be a pretty good hit rate of the original artist not noticing or else they'd be out of business.
ReplyDeleteAlso, why is it t-shirts always seem to take the dumbest interpretations of internet memes and make them worse. I wouldn't even want to wear the shirt because its so much less clever than the original line was and I don't want to misrepresent it.
The only real reason i would go into Hot Topic right thar...
ReplyDeleteThe last (and only) thing I ever bought from Hot Topic was a Slayer tee that literally began to fall apart after I'd only worn it two or three times. So they sell shitty merchandise AND rip off artists? Not fucking cool.
ReplyDeleteAnd ye shall know a True Brony, for he shall know of the Secret Handshake:
ReplyDelete* brohoof *
* teasing royal guards LABBLELABBLELABBLE WONK WONK WONK *
* Celestia "lift my hoof high" pose *
...and thusly shall ye enter the Clubhouse, where shalt there be punch and pie.
@Samuel7897
ReplyDeleteDon't worry, "trendy" means the attention will last about a week, then some other new shiny will come along. Regardless, unlike some trends I could but shouldn't name, "cultural tourists" a.k.a. "energy vampires" won't find much to feed them. We're not rich enough in cynicism, deconstruction, haters or calcium to sustain their diet.
i will buy one of these shirts. yet i agree, not cool of them.
ReplyDeleteThe people who aren't internet savvy won't have a clue why Hot Topic is selling pony shirts. It'll pass quickly.
ReplyDeleteGreat, now fun, optimistic, and playful ponies will be tarnished by pessimistic, confused teenagers.
ReplyDeleteWait. I'm not a hipster am I? Classical music is manestream right?
ReplyDelete@yepiwatchit
ReplyDeleteThere is a term for this: "being part of the problem."
Hmm. Glad they are trying to work things out with Megasweet but..... Can't say i'm too happy with pony in Hot Topic. Pretty much any other retailer I'd be OK with but HT is just... you know.
ReplyDeleteBut I'm guessing they won't stock them for long... I assume most bronies do what I did and order from various shirt bronies or from WLF online.
To chime in on the hipster thing going on here... the biggest problem I see now is that if I see someone walking around in that BRONY shirt, it doesn't guarantee they're an actual brony... and therefore attempting to *BROHOOF* would end in extreme awkwardness and or physical harm on my end.
ReplyDeleteI thought ponies were cool before everypony else thought it was cool :V
ReplyDelete@InfinityDash Exactly. How is anypony supposed to tell a true brony from a poser now?
ReplyDeleteI think the whole OH NO MAINSTREAM argument is silly. it'd be like being gay and being afraid someone was gonna go buy a "hi, I'm gay" shirt. it isn't like the brony stigma is gone. besides, they sell shirts with hello kitty, tmnt, atari logos, rainbow bright, and yoshi on em. I don't see a bunch of randoms running around with those on. also, aside from megasweet's, don't boycott them you foals, you don't want hasbro to think it's a failure. if you want a friggin shirt just buy it, especially since about a month or two ago, everyone was all like "omg omg omg, they should totally put these shirts in hot topic!!!"
ReplyDeleteThey stole your shirt? Meggie, that doesn't look anything like your shirt!
ReplyDeleteXD
But yeah, that's really not cool of whoever is in charge of it all. As Rarity would say, "How cooould you?"
Everypony calm down. Read the update and the posts in the linked thread. Hot Topic doesn't design shirts, they distribute designs from other places. They got Megasweet's design from MightyFine, who bought the design from the winner of their t-shirt contest who obviously stole it from Megasweet and now the shirt is on hold. Everything is fine.
ReplyDeleteAnd don't worry about "posers". I've never even met anyone who wears shirts just because they look cool, that's mostly just a myth about Hot Topic customers (I should know, I buy stuff from there). And like unicr0n said, if we boycott this Hasbro will think it was a failure.
Please don't let the kind of people who would find out about ponies through fucking Hot Topic join our community...
ReplyDeleteUnkown, I for one agreed, this is gona be a ruff ride everypony.
ReplyDeleteI don't like hot topic or a number of the poeple that go there.
Just becuase they are stocking Pony shirts an't going to change my veiwson them.
I just wish they had a Hot Topic where I live. :(
ReplyDeleteHot topic has a bad habit of throwing popular memes onto their t-shirt line in an effort to appeal to the internet populace. When they threw rage guy on a shirt and attempted to sell it, Anonymous was quick to stop that crap.
ReplyDeleteI was literally just in a Hot Topic store yesterday in Redding, checking to see if they had the new shirts.
ReplyDeleteAlas, they only had the old ones.
great now little emo kids will be wearing these :( kinda sad but hey now I can at least buy a shirt yaaay
ReplyDelete@Streek471
ReplyDeleteIt's the Hipster paradox.
Anyway hope the mess gets sorted.
Shame Megasweet's design got high-jacked, but it seems HotTopic isn't the one to blame on that regard. Clearly says in the article: HT wasn't aware of the stolen design during the contest. /shrug
ReplyDeleteHipsters wearing Brony shirts? hehe, I'd love to run into one. Easiest way to weed out the fans from the non is to just start grilling them about minor show details. Ask them to perform a Pinkie-Promise. Ask them if they know who Derpy Hooves is. Make them list the mane cast by order of appearance in the pilot. Non-Bronies will never get these questions right. ;)
Since there aren't any Hot Topics in England I don't really know what to think of this.
ReplyDeleteWelp. Time to be hipster and start hating the show for being too mainstream.
ReplyDeleteHeh. This is cool.
ReplyDeleteI think we're more than a trend at this point.
Not trendy enough for them to offer female shirts in sizes above plus size for a 10 year old apparently.
ReplyDeleteNot trendy enough to have female shirts made in sizes that actually fit women, not just little girls.
ReplyDeleteAs long as Hot Topic doesn't ruin the MLP fanbase like they ruined the Invader Zim fanbase, I'll be fine.
ReplyDeleteSeriously, it's annoying the Hot Topic turned the Invader Zim fanbase into a bunch of preteen Scene girls sceaming, "LAWL! Gir said 'tacos' on this shirt! LAWLAWLAWL It's so funneh!"
Trendy? I don't want trendy, I wan't to be classic. >:(
ReplyDeleteI bought that shirt yesterday and now I feel really bad, I'd like to send Megasweet some money to compensate
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteI'll just be wary about saying Brony stuff around ponies wearing either of these two specific designs.
ReplyDelete"Regardless, we are now considered "trendy". How does it feel?"
ReplyDeleteNow the hipsters will abandon the brony movement in droves. *sigh*
And though I have no problem buying ponies at Toys R Us, you wouldn't catch me dead in a Hot Topic.
NO NO NO. Those scene bastards took Invader Zim from me, and are trying to steal adventure time. THOSE SKINNY JEAN MOFO's WILL NOT TAKE MY PONIES
ReplyDelete@Flutteryay
ReplyDeleteThere is, the problem is, it's a girls only shirt.
Love, tolerate-- and give proper credit?
ReplyDelete@drakethedragon
ReplyDeleteAnd by Cupcakes, I don't mean the fanfiction.
To all the people whinning about how ponies are mainstream/being stolen by teens, if that's your first reaction, then obviously you are only interested in MLP because it's so alternative and edgy to be so and have no true appreciation of the show. I've seen it dozens of times in the anime fandom too "oh hey I'm into anime aren't I so rebellious!" and then when anime starts airing on major cable networks or certain shows gain a larger fanbase the "original fans" move on to the next "cult/underappreciated" thing.
ReplyDeleteI really hope they can get this sorted our so that the original artist, Hot Topic and Hasbro all get their cut because when looking at the contest on WeLoveFine.com this was one of the designs I most wanted to be realized so that I could buy it.
Eh, I never got all the Hot Topic hate. Yeah, it's a mainstream business. As are most.
ReplyDeleteAt least it means that your local mall sells Super Mario and other things relevant to your interests. Dillard's will never do that. Sears will never do that. JCPenny will never do that. Even PacSun will probably never do that.
So why hate Hot Topic unless you order everything online?
Cool, now to head down to the local Hot Topic.
ReplyDeleteTo bad they don't ever get a shirt of my favorite band, there aren't even any online.
Pretty cool that FiM is getting bigger. Don't really like any of these designs though, I'll probably just get a different one online or make my own.
ReplyDeleteNot too surprised with some of the negative comments about Hot Topic here. Not really a fan of the store myself, but I don't see what's wrong if it's bringing new fans to the show. Although if I start hearing people in public making constant references to the show like I sometimes hear with memes like u mad and FFFFUUUU- I'm going to pop a cap in their bitch ass.
trendy... great, yay :/
ReplyDeletehow it feel? it sucks
TearOfFriendship, I agree completely. To me its always been a store that sells decent shirts that you wont find anywhere else online. I never have money when I pass by one, but if I did, Id shop there rather than anywhere else. I think avoiding a store because you're afraid of its scene image is just as silly as going into one for the same reason
ReplyDeleteI'm all for brony merchandise
ReplyDeleteJUST NOT IN FUCKING HOT TOPIC GOD DAMNIT
Theres no hot topic here, and even then I doubt I'd shop there :\ And besides, these shirts need to ne literally 20% cooler, cause right now their just....... No.
ReplyDelete"Feels bad, man"
ReplyDeleteHot Topic won't bring in new fans--scene kids will wear these shirts thinking they are ironic and cool. I have no problem with the show becoming popular, or daresay even manestream. But, I want it to be for the right reasons.
It might not even be Hot Topic's fault; maybe it was intended to be a store catering to niche fandoms. BUT, kids want to be special so they buy these shirts because "hey, this is a weird shirt if I wear it everyone will think I'm weird and cool!"
Hasbro wants to sell shirts to make money, and this is probably the best choice for that. I'd love to buy directly from Hasbro or at least from a store like Wal*Mart (why the hell do I type the little star?) or Target. Things aren't in Wal*Mart because it's the trendy store where they sell trendy stuff; they're in Wal*Mart because 'Wal*Mart' is to 'selling things' as 'The Internet' is to 'drawing porn of things.'
@TearofFriendship
ReplyDeleteHater's gonna hate. Personally, I like the shop myself, can't really say I care to much for the art theft, but that's more of their supplier then anything.
Cool that we get respect.
ReplyDeleteBad that it's Hot Topic. Buy from the small guys, folks.
What's wrong with hot topic?
ReplyDeleteso hipster bronies now? "I was a brony before it was cool"
ReplyDelete**comment needs artwork**

ReplyDeleteHipster Rainbow Dash
ReplyDeleteugh. hot topic. Don't like their shirts. I only bought a blink 182 shirt there once because they weren't being sold anywhere else. The shirt designs there don't really match up to what kind of bands certain bands are. Like Killswitch Engage would not go with a cartoony worm invested zombie head for one of their designs, imo. Just doesn't fit the band. I don't know how Hot Topic works though.
ReplyDeleteSo folks here are being hipsters and whining that MLP at Hot Topic is bad because it's mainstream, and yet on another site they were whining that MLP at Hot Topic is bad because hipsters shop there and will wear it. What?
ReplyDeleteMany of you here disappoint me, bronies. You love the show. You want it to be successful, right? Pony merch at Hot Topic = success. So shut up and be happy. And, y'know, tolerant. If you finding yourself saying that tolerance does not extend to a particular group of people, you might possibly be missing the whole point of tolerance, just saying.
Anyway, I am relieved to hear that the art theft issue has been resolved. I get pretty sick of people who don't understand how the business works (not that I understand it much better myself, but at least I know to blame the manufacturer, not the distributor) labeling Hot Topic as some kind of art theft machine. Yes, it's happened a couple of times, but it wasn't their fault and they've been pretty cool about it.
I, for one, am just pleased to see pony shirts in stores. I was wondering what took them so long.
@Epesi
ReplyDeleteYeah, though hopefully this theft issue won't result in people not making them, and if they do, I hope they make sizes for guys as well as girls.
where's mah fluttershy shirts???!!
ReplyDeleteI don't really go to Hot Topic, but I don't dislike the idea of them selling pony merch. And I really don't care if some emos, etc, get into MLP:FiM because of it (who knows, it might give them a new perspective). We're all fans of the series here. Whether it's a smash hit or a cult classic doesn't matter to me. I still love the identity this community has made for itself, and any new-comers will conform to the herd. ;P
ReplyDeleteIt's kinda ironic though, that so many bronies are complaining about how hot topic sucks for being mainstream (the complaints about their fabric quality are valid). Because what was this latest series of MLP made for other then for Hasbro to sell more of their top toy lines merchandise? MLP:FiM was made to be another in a long line of corporate cash-in's - instead it has a soul that shines as bright as the Elements of Harmony.

ReplyDeleteI dunno I used to like Hot Topic back in the day, and when I say back in the day like 6 or 7 years ago. When I would get a Metallica or Megadeth shirt. The shirts then were not bad, it was the only place to get them, and the shirts lasted quite the while. Something happened within the last few years, it's kinda a combination of a few things. The artwork is usually stolen, if not it's not that great, and then it's slapped on a cheesy shirt. One of the last shirts I got just ended up wearing out really fast. The second is a lot of the people who do shop there.
ReplyDeleteI will be tolerant and all that, BUT a lot of people do have a point. The whole Invader Zim deal, which is very true. A lot of people don't know and just like Gir because "He's soooooooo random!!!11! Squeeeee" yet haven't really watched the show. You know the so called "Fans" that Jhonen Vasquez himself can't stand. The show was never about Gir, but that's what Hot Topic does. Takes whatever is popular at the time, and pretty much kills it.
You said you were excited for the fact that Hot Topic is selling shirts (Epesi and anyone else excited for that matter), but I've only seen two. The ones pictured here. The Megasweet one that was stolen and no longer on their site, and this Brony one with Dash on it. Just a darkened, copypasta Dash. I mean the shirt is OKAY but that's about it. I probably would not buy it. If it was an only choice then maybe. I know I won't run out to Hot Topic for that.
Also on another tangent here, take all these video game/old school game shirts they have now. They never had that before, you know when it was somewhat obscure to have a Mario shirt. As of recent though a lot of people started getting into this retro wave. Now that it's deemed popular enough, we get stuff. Which is nice, though it would have been nicer when I was 16 and not 23.
Which, yeah, may be good and all. Though there are people who really don't understand that most people who watch MLP:FIM because it's a generally good show. They just label you as a hipster. My friend got me into it at like the 3rd episode, way before all this. Never was I claimed to be a hipster, because it was still fairly unknown plus I didn't tell a soul. Now I'm kind of Pinkie Pie on that one picture list (you know the that's from Gilda [hate for the show] to Pinkie Pie [Loves the show and proclaim that you do so], seriously look it up if you haven't seen it). I can thank a lot of the new publicity for that, and for things like this that would not be possible.
So yeah I dunno why I felt the need to rant, and it's probably pretty obscure odd ideas. Whatever. My point is I don't really know how to feel about this. Hot Topic has quite the way to make everything hipster, and even though some will say that's not tolerating, I don't know what to think about some dude wearing a shirt who does not even watch the show. Like I said I dunno how to feel, because Hot Topic went downhill, and killed a LOT of good things. *Shrugs*
P.S. Stealing that art was low, though I am glad Hot Topic had the decency to remove it.
The only complaint I have about HT is that I have to remember to buy a size up because their shirts tend to be a bit small.
ReplyDeleteI'm partial to Hot Topic myself. They do steal designs from time to time, and their quality is so-so. I would honestly recommend waiting for official ones (hooves crossed) or just get some of the fanmade ones, since they have more designs and better quality IMO.
ReplyDeleteim not the biggest fan of hottopic, but i was buying a lot of stuff today so i stopped in. didnt see the new shirts but did see the others. didnt have them in my size :( still bought a lot of mlp stuff today so im happy
ReplyDeleteDidn't we... Didn't we ASK Hot Topic to carry brony shirts a while ago? Now they have them and suddenly we hate Hot Topic almost universally because they inherited MightyFine's problem by mistake?
ReplyDelete-sigh-
And on a slight defensive note for Hot Topic as a store, I got some of my favorite costume accessories from them. It's just a matter of picking what you buy from them carefully and waiting until they e-mail you that they're having a clearance.
ick. I dont like what HT does to movies and shows merchandise. They take it and cheapify it.
ReplyDeleteRegardless, I will stick to my better made brony stuff, thank you.
Lol! I bought that shirt on the website on Sunday, and it's no longer available on the website anymore!
ReplyDeleteHah, and then everypony misses the edit saying that Hot Topic wasn't actually stealing.
ReplyDeleteI hate hispters wanna be fake bronies so damn much... And we have to love and tolerate them... ugh!
ReplyDelete
