Another petition has popped up! This time for a soundtrack!
Once it is complete, the brony running it will be passing it along to hasbro, La-La Land Records, and Intrada records in an attempt to drum up some interest! These guys are known for producing off the radar soundtracks, so hopefully they pick up on it.
If you are interested in joining the cause, hit up the link below!

Sweet. Consider me signed!
ReplyDeleteI signed!
ReplyDeleteAlso, I hear these things have a better chance of working if first and last names are used :)
Make sure Daniel Ingram knows about it, at the very least it will make him feel really happy.

Why not Shout! Factory? They seem likely to get the FiM home video rights.
ReplyDeleteSigned in 10 seconds flat!
ReplyDeleteThanks SO MUCH for posting this Sethisto! I think a unified petition is the best way for Hasbro to see the sheer number of bronies who appreciate (and would be willing to buy) the music of the show! :D
ReplyDeleteI've signed, of course :P
@Anonymous
I just talked to the creator of this petition, and Daniel Ingram does indeed know of its existence!
Hey, remember that one time that an online petition actually accomplished something?
ReplyDelete...anyone?
@Anonymous
ReplyDeleteThere's a first time for everything... and with bronies leading the way, I'd say chances are at least above average
Sethisto...
ReplyDeleteI have only one reaction for this:

Thank you SO MUCH for posting this here. In the span of 30 minutes, I've gotten nearly 100 signatures... I did NOT expect such an increase in the rate!
I can only imagine what I'll wake up to tomorrow.
You have made this brony VERY happy tonight.
Thank you thank you thank you.
@ Anons above:
ReplyDeleteI had Mr. Ingram read this petition before I posted it anywhere, therefore it has his blessings.
I also posted on Shout! Factory's message boards about a month ago. Believe me, I have been pouring my heart and soul into getting this soundtrack released.
http://www.shoutfactory.com/community/4244/thread.aspx#23580
I also have lots of contacts with people working in the soundtrack industry. I truly am trying.
@Anonymous
ReplyDeleteWell, Uganda has constantly pushed back their anti-homosexual death penalty law due to public outcry.
Which the online petition websites take credit for.
But if it does nothing else, it sends the message out there that there are possible buyers for Hasbro's products. And that's always a good incentive for a business.
While I am genuinely interested, this would just be another reason for me to spend money that I just don't have. I don't need that right now.
ReplyDeleteHowever, for my fellow bronies, I will sign this document.
I signed this before it was on EQ.

:D
@Senn555
ReplyDeletethankyou for doing this senn555
I really hope it works or at the very least gets Hasbro to notice us a bit more
I've got a feeling that, If Hasbro does anything, they will just put all the songs on iTunes if they are not there already. Its still worth a shot though.
ReplyDelete399th
ReplyDeleteThat's many brony.
signed, no 412
ReplyDeleteREAD AND SIGN THIS EVERYPONY!!!
Seems kind of pointless to be, what with there being good enough unofficial albums and the cost of making one probably wont be worth it in the end.
ReplyDeleteI signe it anyway, but seems silly, I'd rather have a DVD/Blue-Ray.
I WANT DRAMA TRACKS!
ReplyDeleteyou know, all talking tracks with original content from the va's. Like Japan does.
ADD THAT SHIT
496 signatures...
ReplyDeleteWow. I don't even know what to say. You bronies are truly amazing. I love ALL of you.
I honestly hope many of you are spreading this around as much as you can - I really do need as many as I can get!
In response to the Anon two posts above mine - the unofficial material floating around simply isn't good enough for me, and nearly all of the background score rips contain sound effects and dialog anyhow. I'd like something that I can hold in my hands - a product with beautiful artwork and packaging, not to mention liner notes. Compressed mp3s is not my thing, and music mastered on CD is in far better quality anyhow.
As for the costs, La-La Land and Intrada frequently release soundtracks limited to a certain number of units - otherwise the costs are greater than the revenues. I go into this briefly here:

Okay, I caved.
ReplyDeleteWe now have 513 signatures.
count me in I will sign
ReplyDeleteActually the TV show T-Bag was brought back onto dvd in the UK because of an online petition.
ReplyDeletehttp://www.petitiononline.com/sa227rdw/petition.html
That's their petition, and now it's being released.
Only 559 signatures? That's unbearable!!!

I signed! It was kind of liberating putting my real name on something supporting MLP:FiM, since no one IRL actually knows of my fandom...
ReplyDeleteI REALLY hope this ends up getting made!
You got my support; Signed.
ReplyDelete620. Wow, numbers just keep going.
668th :)
ReplyDeleteC'mon bronies! 500,000 hits on Equestria Daily in the TWO DAYS since we hit 6 million, and we can't muster at least 1000 signatures???
ReplyDeleteI know we can!!!
838.
ReplyDeleteI helped :D
I love how this is the third most active petition on the website... Above the petition to stop the killing of citizens in Libya... Bronies getting a MLP:FiM soundtrack is apparently more important... LOL
ReplyDelete@Anonymous
ReplyDeleteAt the rate it's going, I'm sure we will hit 1000 in a week's time. It's nearly at 900 and it only keeps climbing!
@Major Torrential Rains
Wow... you're right. This is absolutely insane.
Pardon me while I go squeal like a fangirl:

@Major Torrential Rains
ReplyDeleteAnd, unlike the petition to stop killing Lybians, this one actually has a chance of coming true!
895th.
ReplyDeleteKeep it coming bronys :)
Number 119 on the signature list is someone pretending to be Gabe Newell. LOL
ReplyDelete1403. BAM.
