Wait so... It's actually happening? This isn't a myth? Color me amazed, I didn't think something like this was even possible with how many "pokemon mmo's" have crashed and burned over the years on /v/ and /vp/.
Ponychan really is crazy... and it's a full multiplayer engine according to his DA page.
You can find the full video demonstration of an apple harvesting quest below, along with the ponychan post for it!

2D version. Thank god, people have common sense.
ReplyDeleteWoah, that's quite...impresive.
ReplyDeleteHmm. There was a thread in /g/ on Ponychan about MLP:FiM MMO. And they said they're making 3D game.
ReplyDeleteAnd the "main person"'s nick was Rainbow Bloom. Looks like there will be 2 Pony MMOs, or i'm wrong?
Dear Celestia,
ReplyDeleteToday, for the first time in many years, I shat my pants in excitement.
I have never witnessed so much content being created by one fandom alone - and I thought the amount of OC being generated in the pony threads of 4chan was amazing!
ReplyDeleteTabletop games, MMOs, Flash Platformers, Musical remixes, Mashups, Lip-synced trailers and music videos, fan art, fan fiction, tshirts, stamps, charms, comic strips, real-life events, shoes - the list just goes on and on...
Completely insane, but I love it
Ugh, Eclipse engine. This will get nowhere.
ReplyDeleteFantastic!
ReplyDeleteAll of my love, take it.
ReplyDeleteNeeds more textures. Tons of textures.
ReplyDeleteWhy does everything pony-related seem to go so fast? Is it... magic? Nah, gotta be magnets.
ReplyDeleteI'm bothered that AJ's name isn't capitalized in the screenshot.
ReplyDelete@Anonymous
ReplyDeleteI agree on the Eclipse Front, go go gadget ugly sprite animations!
MMO with ponies.
ReplyDeleteSeriously.
If this actually happens, I will declare humanity has fulfilled its ultimate purpose and accomplished the work of the gods started many eons ago which we call The Creation.
Im uhh. Im actually looking forward to this. I kinda wanna play it.
ReplyDeleteomigoshomigoshomigoshomigoshhhhhhhh
ReplyDeleteThis is great!
ReplyDeletebut I was going to make it FUUUUUUUUUUU
:P
wow did not know it would be posted here so fast yes progress is coming along fast and great :)
ReplyDeleteright now i'm mapping ponyville
nice :)
ReplyDeleteKicking needs swing or charge meter.
ReplyDelete2d is good. Textures for a textureless world make no sense.
Otherwise I am the interested.
Except... You know... This project is the deathknell for the Fan Generated MLP OVA.
@Fire.Esper
ReplyDeleteThis, a thousand times this.
Ponies should buck the trees like Applejack does to collect apples. Still -- this isn't bad for the beginning of a fan project.
ReplyDelete@Sorrowful
ReplyDeletewere gona add onto the sprite animation system
like 6 frame walk and run animations and a
8 frame bucking animation
This looks deviantly beautiful, I must admit.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see the finished product.
@Seth
ReplyDeleteThere've been Pokemon MMOs that succeed. They're on BYOND, which is almost identical to the Eclipse engine.
Looks cool, cant wait till it's done! Keep us posted!
ReplyDeleteBracing for epic.
ReplyDelete~Scratch
Cor lumme, I'm with Anonymous on this one and I'm absolutely delighted at all the lovely people in this community and the wonders that they weave into existence at but a thought. Keep it up, ponies!
ReplyDeleteI'd be tickled pink by a MMO filled with ponies, too, as it'd make for a rather marvelous change of pace from all the endless combat of yore.
*Dusk hopes for a multitude of ridiculous emotes.*
Not entirely sure what to think of this.
ReplyDeleteIt's not because it's a game with ponies.. it's because it's a sort of MMO.
I never have much faith in MMOs anymore really. Though I am kind of curious to see where this could go.
@Fleymevas
ReplyDeletethen think of it as a online graphical chat game :) ....with activities :P
@Anonymous
ReplyDeleteThere is a 3d project in the works.

But to be honest I don't think they know what they are doing. They seem obsessed with just the models, there doesn't appear to be any real consensus on what kind of game they are making and I'm the only one who's even posted anything close to a coherent design brief (which they seem to have ignored).
