    Final Dashie and Derpy art

Now that r/place is all over, we can look back on all the amazing artwork that we created.  We certainly had a rough time of it this year (as we did last year), but we still managed to come out on top!  The 29 under Derpy is the raid count.  There was actually another raid right at the end, making the final raid count 30.

The first art we attempted to make was the combo piece containing the Rainbow Salute, Derpy Scrunch, and book.  The original location and art are below:

The original color pallet was not very large, so they ended up coming out looking a bit off.  Overall the first day was relatively uneventful.  We got raided a few times, once covered in a giant Pepe and Donkey Kong, but we always came back.  This calm would not last forever though.  Tragedy first struck when we were covered by a giant Perry the Platypus.  The background art from our friends on the canvas, Bluey, was extended over us to create a background for this art, making it very difficult to take back our spot.  People naturally would try and retain good art from the outside looking in (unless it was ours x_x), so trying to cover up this art that was unwillingly extended from Bluey proved too much to manage.  To make matters worse, Reddit themselves endorsed the griefer art.

To compensate for the loss of this art, we ended up moving to a new location with a new piece of art, fully intending to eventually bring the original piece back somehow.  The new art was to be a 2x3 grid of the Mane 6's portraits.

Unfortunately, shortly after we got this art going, One Piece was to make a giant piece of art that cut right through the top of it!  But rather than fight it, we adapted and moved out of their way.  This proved to be a very smart decision for us in the long run, as it put us in good relations with One Piece.  They ended up being one of our best allies in the end.

One Piece art with our portraits at a latter time.  Derpy was added, and each of the Mane 6 were given additional designs.  Applejack was given a Straw Hat Luffy hat to show our friendship with One Piece.

After further canvas expansions, we did manage to again build the original art (with an expanded color scheme as the color palette grew with each expansion).

Unfortunately, in a very predictable fashion, another giant piece of streamer art came and forced us to adapt.  A hulking behemoth was placed right over top of Dashie's face and forced us to relocate her downwards.  Derpy ended up staying put though, leading the final design to look like this:

Finally, right at the end of r/place and after the final expansion, we decided to build a giant Twilight.  Unfortunately I was at work for much of this development, but here is how it turned out:

All in all, we ended up with a lot of pony art on the canvas.  I didn't even mention all of it in this brief recap.  Some of the major ones I did not mention, I will show below:

Mare in the Moon on a flag (formerly Italian flag)

    Peeking ponies

    Peeking Sunburst

Discord thumbnail art in the giant "FUCK SPEZ"

Trixie art in the Transplace flag with Little Pip right above it.

I may have missed some art pieces; if I did I apologize.  Even still, we came out on top with quite a lot of art.  We thoroughly defeated the griefers and doubters, and in the end showed that the ride, in fact, never ends!

Please Reddit, if you want to do this again, wait longer than a year this time and give me more of a notice before it starts than 1 day.  It is very extinguishing to keep up with this and place all these pixels.  I was not emotionally ready to do this again when it started x_x
