Howdy y'all!  Tonight I am hosting my "Horses Mouth" interview with Big Jim Miller, Director of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. You know, the one that ran it for most of its life! It will be recorded  LIVE over on our discord server at 7:30 PM PST and will run for a couple of hours.

Discussion: What Did You Think of the Quality Downgrade for My Little Pony: Make Your Mark?

When we first saw the teaser and Izzy looking like this, I thought for sure there would be a bit about her lacking sleep or something. Apparently it had nothing to do with that. It was just the lighting.

Obviously we weren't going to get movie quality for a series and special, but there was a lot about Make Your Mark that felt... off. The lip syncing was sometimes all over the place, the animation seemed stiff, and Izzy wasn't the only one that suffered from a bit of awkward lighting.

What do you think they can improve for the series later in the year? Make Your Mark is considered episode one, introducing us to what we can expect. Does it need a little bit of TLC though?

Discussion: What Do You Think of the Concept of Magic Disappearing if Ponies Argue?

New Equestria seems to be governed by a very... strict form of friendship. So strict in fact, that pegasus will literally fall to their deaths and unicorns may or may not drop heavy objects on one another if ponies argue at all. Everyone must be friendly and agreeable at all times or chaos will reign over the land if magic is being used.

How do you think this will play out in the long run? Can society survive without conflict? Or is everyone just going to give up on the concept of magic and embrace their ability to angrily disagree with eachother? Do you think human society would trade hate for magic?

With Make Your Mark, Amazon has unleashed a bunch of new shirts on their official store over on Amazon. Every characters gets something, from from the mane 5 to Sprout.

The Ministry of Image is Asking What Fanfic You Want Printed Next!

If you are one of the many people who collect the super high quality books people print around the fandom, you probably know about the Ministry of Image. They have a host of different stories now in their shop, including everything from a gigantic Fallout Equestria mega collection to University Days, all with high quality art.

As of today, they are looking for their next projects to work on. A new Google Form asks you which fanfic you want to see bookified. Included in the mix are everything from classsics like "It's Dangerous Business, Going Out Your Door", to the shippy fics like Shipping and Handling. There is something for everyone in this list.

New "Cutie Mark Maker" Official Game on My Little Pony Website

A new Cutie Mark Maker game is available over on the My Little Pony website. While it looks super simple, there are a lot of programs similiar to this in regular games where people create some super unique emblems with the limited tools available to them. I'm interested in seeing what you all can come up with using this stuff!

New "Funkin' is Magic" Mode Released

Friday Night Funkin' has been ponified a bunch over the last few years, and a new mod released yesterday expanding that even further. Funkin' is Magic starts of with Pinkie Pie, and includes a few songs along with some Discord later on.

As a little kid there was always something magical about the first day of school. Being a teacher it was a bit different, terrifying even. It has been one heck of a year and I had thought I'd made it and was ready for next year but unfortunately, I will not be teaching next year as the school decided to not renew my contract.

It was a big blow to me and I am sad to leave my job teaching, but I have other avenues I can explore. I could teach elsewhere but after the pain of designing my own curriculum for three classes for a whole year now essentially in vain, the prospect of having to do that again doesn't have me excited.

Hopefully something better is around the corner. In the meantime, I do have a Ko-Fi to help while I am jobless, so check it out if you'd like to help.

Friendship is Magic really was something special wasn't it? Hopefully G5 can live up to that insanely high bar it set! Watchmojo has once again summoned cartoon horses for one of it's top lists, and this time the Mane 6 take the 2nd slot for best cartoon reboots. It's hard to imagine it was over a decade ago now that it happened. I can't believe I've been here reporting on it for this long.

Who is the New Shadowy Alicorn?

Rocking that G5 spoiler tag for this post! If you haven't activated it yet and don't want to see these posts, hit that gear on the nav bar. Usually I get it a day after something releases before making posts about things.

Anyway, at the end of Make Your Mark, we met our new villain for the series. The special was our introduction to the actual episodic content releasing later in the year, and this was our teaser of things to come. Who is this alicorn? Unfortunately the lighting makes her look a little goofy, but there are already loads of theories out there. Perhaps she was the one that lead to the downfall of cartoon horse society? An apprentice in a long line of apprentices gone horribly wrong? She doesn't look like Luster Dawn, so it must have been long past the Twilight era when she became a thing.

She's also a fully fledged alicorn, unlike Sunny who just has a super-saiyan alicorn thing going on apparently. Discuss below!

Alternate Art Styles for "Tell Your Tale" Were Actually Explored. Do You Prefer This One Over What We go?

Like most animated projects, art style is super important to how well it will do in the long run. G4 was a treat to look at, and with that style came the flood of OC's and artists using it and expandinding on it. Tell Your Tale of course went through a concept phase where different ideas were explored, and today we have one of those from a character designer named Claudio Naccari over on Artstation.

Maretime Bay Adventure Offiically Launches Today

Maretime Bay Adventures has officially released today! G4 never got a console game. How do you think G5 will do with a completely new category for pony?

If you have no idea what this is, we've been covering it for a while now. You can find all of our previous news posts, trailer postings, let's plays, and various other things over at this label. The general idea though is a game about exploring Maretime Bay, doing mini games, customizing your horses, and and following a story about restoring magic. It also apparently has co-op. We will be diving into it soon so keep an eye out for a bit of feedback in a week or so!

Get it on Amazon, Steam, local stores, or wherever you prefer to buy video games. Hopefully if it does well, we will get more pony games in the future. I know I want that.
