Looks like we're getting more than just an homage from IDW Publishing to the classic Children's Book Series!
New book listings on Amazon.com have revealed that Random House Publishing will be making not one, but two books in their Little Golden Books line!
The first listing is for a My Little Pony Little Golden Book. The second listing is for a My Little Pony: The Movie Big Golden Book!
Aside from both books releasing on August 29th, 2017, no other information about the books exists. However the fact that a Little Golden Book exists at all for My Little Pony: The Movie is a really good indication for how hard the future licensing push is going to be for this film.
Plus, if the Golden Books from when The Force Awakens was released are any indication, the My Little Pony: The Movie Big Golden Book is probably going to contain a very condensed and simplified plot of the film.
So, if you happen to have any kids who are toddlers, or know of kids who are in the age bracket these appeal to, consider possibly picking them up. I certainly remember my mother reading me these books to sleep when I was very little. Perhaps it could give them memories like that too.

Spike might not get as many cosplays as other characters, but without a doubt I do see a Spike or two at every convention. He's also a popular choice for little kids; baby dragon after all, heh.

Filled with quirky humor, beautiful sprites and an original story, this pony JRPG inspired by the Paper Mario series takes you on an adventure with Derpy and a number of wonderful friends.

Some heavy non-electronic music for you all! First up is a cover by Francis Vace of a remix by NewPatrol of Flak's much-enjoyed song Walls. Title weirdness aside, the track is full of Francis' trademark ska punk style and vocals, and gets pretty heavy at one point! The second track is a remix of my own track Skywards by Reverbrony. He's taken the drum & bass original and turned it into an epic metal piece, with some really awesome use of the melodies, and in my mind it's one of his best works in recent times. While Spike might have great friendships of all kinds throughout Equestria many comics starring him also star Twilight. From the very first episode the two have been practically inseparable and have seen so much together. It's a unique friendship among the ones that Twilight has because despite him being her assistant they both grew up together and as such the fandom has filled in the blanks on what that relationship is like. Of course, not to say Spike doesn't have his own solo roles like above from time to time.

Out of our main cast Spike has had the rough of it, starring in a number of episodes that many have found dull or just sub-par. Seems like whenever we get an episode announced that's Spike-centric we get a bunch of groans from our comments section.
Thanks to this current season though, we've seen that Spike can actually be the star of some pretty decent episodes! And as a stalwart friend to each of the mane 6 his importance to them as someone in their lives can't be understated.
So the question is what do you think of Spike as a character? If you dislike him is it because of his lackluster episodes in the past or some deeper character flaw? If you like him what do you like about him and what episodes stand out to you? What would you like to see from our dragon friend in future episodes?

Spike is here again guys! After a break last year due to changing the date his day lands on we're back once again to celebrate our little dragon friend. After a season with some decent episodes for him it's a good time to celebrate! He's currently getting himself a little shuteye in preparation for the day.
Expect a number of the usual posts for an appreciation day like this, though I'm not sure if Silver has a video for today but keep your fingers crossed!
