My Little Pony Movie Soundtrack Gets a Cover - Featuring Sia, Lukas Graham, DNCE and More

Looks like the motion picture soundtrack now has a cover showing off the artists we can expect to see in the movie! Sia and Lukas Graham look familiar to me but I don't think I've seen that DNCE is doing music for the movie. Plus that "And More" is pretty tantalizing too; I wonder what else we can expect in the movie?

I have a hard time remembering scenes from the movie previews we've seen before as they tend to blend together, but it is from the same source as the new screenshots we've gotten recently so I'm going to role with it! Anyhow, some new screens have popped up over on Der Film showing off some more seapony stuff, Capper, and more!

Music: Kaia - Cloud Estrizer [Chill/Future]

Not an especially new track, but one that never reached YouTube until now, Cloud Estrizer is a gorgeous future bass-styled chill track from Kaia, an alternative alias of AdamTh3Walker. The piece has some truly terrific use of percussion, big band instrumentation and subtle plucks that helps create a gorgeous little soundscape. Check it out below!

This Wednesday, the final issue in the My Little Pony: The Movie Prequel Mini-Series will be released. And once again, our friends over at IDW Publishing have sent us the exclusive reveal of the extended preview!

Now thanks to the interview we conducted with Ted Anderson earlier in the year, we know that this comic was the basis for a number of scenes within the Stormy Road to Canterlot. Just what scenes? Well, if you have the book from Little, Brown and Company you might have an idea after checking out the preview below the break!

Storm King Does a Donald Trump Parody in Movie Art Book

The Art of My Little Pony: The Movie released earlier this week, and already people are digging into it for all those usual FiM reference goodies. A person that has apparently spent way too much time watching our dear orange leader spotted a funny little parody one of the artists of the book decided to slip in, as you can see above.

Music: Daniel Ingram - Luna's Future (Suskii Remix) [Dubstep]

There've been a lot of remixes of Luna's Future by this point, and I think this one from Suskii is definitely one of the more unique ones. Whilst Suskii tends to focus on heavy dubstep and aggressive sound design, this piece is a lot more chilled out, with an ominous dark vibe throughout, and the drop being relatively pared back to keep up the right feel. Check it out below!

Songbird Serenade Build-A-Bear Plushie Available in Australia

More Build-A-Bear news arrives! While they don't have Tempest Shadow yet, the Australian version of the chain has listed up the first Songbird Serenade, along with large size images of her. Songbird once again includes an optional side accessory pack:

Artist Training Grounds VII - Final Gallery

Well my friends, we're finally at our destination: the end of the ATG. It's been a crazy month, hasn't it? Even though we've had 30 days of prompts and 3 makeup days it feels like only yesterday that we began. Over the course of the ATG I've seen so many of you improve, make friends, and try your hands at drawing for the first time.

Regardless if you stuck with every single prompt or if you only did a single prompt, I'm proud of you. You entered into this wanting to improve or try something new and that in itself is an admirable endeavor. Each and every night I stayed up with you all, excited to see what you'd submit and I was never disappointed in your efforts, your creativity, and just how awesome you all were. Thank you for letting me be a part of your journey, I hope it takes you to wonderful places and I look forward to seeing more from you all either in the time between ATGs or next year when we begin again!

For our final gallery tonight you guys celebrated with 83 ponies giving us a final total of 4251 ponies. That's an impressive number I hope you're all proud of!

One last thing before we get to our gallery. For those of you who are going to miss the regiment of the ATG we do have an option for you! Over the years, alumni of the ATG have gathered together to continue challenging themselves and have formed the ATG Alumni Group! Here you can find years worth of prompts that I highly recommend you dig through and find something that inspires you.

Music: A Symphony Of Two - A Moment Of Relief [Experimental Ambient]

A Symphony Of Two normally make orchestral works, but here they've gone for something a little darker. An experimental, spooky chill piece that includes a lot of distorted percussion and subtle orchestral elements is held up mostly by the weird yet cool composition of the sound design that gets quite frantic at its most climactic points, before descending into darkness again. Check it out below for a pretty unique soundscape!

Not one to pull his punches, Chris Wöhrer has released a super heavy death metal track about Starlight Glimmer and Twilight Sparkle in the season 5 finale. Hello everyone! The Illustrious Q here to just post a little reminder that Silver Quill is on a much needed and well earned vacation for the next couple of weeks. As such, there shall be no comic "Let's Review" this week. That and my work schedule has prevented me from sitting down and getting anything written. Twelve hour days, six days a week does not leave much time for anything else. Thank goodness I have a long weekend coming up.
However, those shall resume next week, with not one, but two reviews by yours truly for My Little Pony: The Movie Prequel #4 and for My Little Pony: Legends of Magic #5… oh dear. Just what did I sign up for?

Discussion: Episode Rewrite - Which Episode Would You Change?

Borg here. Let me start by saying Friendship is Magic is an amazingly awesome show. Of course, if I didn't think that, then why am I writing for a My Little Pony blog? I'm not that much of a masochist. Well regardless, one way or another our individual tastes combined with our primate brains rank each episode as we see it. What's cool though is not everyone's favorite episode is the favorite for everyone and the same goes for anyone's least favorite.

So my question is this: If you were given the power to remake any Friendship is Magic episode (or 2-parter) as a Special Edition, which episode would it be? Would it be your least favorite episode? Is it a Spike episode? Maybe your favorite episode needed that one extra bit of something!

Mathematic Pony hasn't released anything for quite some time, but they're back with a really lovely piece here! A big focus on the strong, interesting vocals is evident, however there is plenty of neat trap-style percussion and orchestrals swells throughout as well. Legends of Equestria Releases a Gameplay Tour and Trailer

The Legends of Equestria team has put together a short trailer showing off what their game can do. For some odd reason in a gaming industry first, they recorded it on the lowest graphic quality possible to show what it looks like on potato computers. Maybe it's a genius move? I have no idea!

The trailer covers a little adventure slaying a dragon, and shows off a few of the systems in place.

Artist Training Grounds VII - Day 30, Final Day

And so here we are my friends: finally at the very end. It's been one heck of a journey with you guys over the past month (and some change) and I can't be more proud of how well you all rose to the challenge of tackling the ATG. Though our numbers dwindled towards the end I feel like we had more people than usual this year complete all the prompts than in the past couple ATGs and that puts a huge smile on my face.

You all certainly took advantage of the makeup days this time around! We received 128 ponies today, a huge increase over yesterday's figures and bringing us up to 4168 ponies altogether.

While it's sad the ATG is over with for another year, I do have the pleasure of giving you all the traditional final prompt that has been carried on since Phoe's time: Draw a pony graduating / Draw a pony party. You've earned it everyone! Time to collect your diplomas.

My Little Pony Friendship Run Returns to Manila in 2017

The Philippines plays host to Friendship Runs each year, and 2017 is no different. As with the last few, lots of custom merchandise will be available, along with some really neat medals for anyone that completes it.

If you happen to be int the area on the 23rd of September and want to run in one of the four different races (500m, 1km, 3km, and 5km) you can sign up for it over here or hit up a "Chris Sports Outlets" store to sign up in person.

Hasbro Scoops Up the "Allspark Animation" Trademark

In their quest for world domination of the media sector, Hasbro has been going hardcore at the movie and animation biz. While traditionally working through third parties like DHX for the cartoon offerings, it looks like that might be changing soon with a new trademark filing. "Allspark Animations" will be focused on the following:

Entertainment services, namely, production and distribution of movies, television series, online series, webisodes and digital content; entertainment media production services for motion pictures, television and internet

At the moment not much else is known, as is the norm for these early trademark snipes. It could be completely focused on Transformers (hence the "Allspark" title) or it could be an all encompassing like Allspark Studios, their live-action movie brand. Keep an eye out for more info!

Equestria Tales Releases New Animatic and Adds Disney Animator Rick Farmiloe to Team

Over a year ago, we posted about a big animation project in the works by a team called Harmonize entertainment. Since then, they have been hard at work on getting it prepared for all of you to hopefully watch some day!

An animatic has been released showing one of the scenes from the final project has been released, and they have apparently scooped up Disney animator Rick Farmiloe to their team. He's worked on everything from Aladdin to Iron Giant. He will be helping as a full character animator, and apparently isn't the last big name they are scooping up.

Music: Sonic Hooves - First Flight [Orchestral] + The Seapony Orchestra Recording

Sonic Hooves' First Flight is symbolic of the greater journey he has been undertaking over the last year. The Seapony Orchestra was a project he started to organise in the middle of last year, and it finally came to fruition at the Southeast Asian convention SEAPonycon earlier this month with a truly wonderful performance. This piece was debuted there, and now it's out for everybody to enjoy. There's some really superb composition throughout, and it definitely comes across rather hopeful and uplifting. You can check it out below, along with a recording of the first ever live performance of The Seapony Orchestra!
