We've been considering launching a patreon for about a year now, but because I'm a huge chicken it's still sitting in limbo. I don't usually like doing a whole lot with EQD on the money front outside of google ads and random pony licensees, so it's a hurdle!
Maybe you all can help make it more fun? We need ideas for backer rewards. So far we have:
- Monthly thank you post people can contribute to in tiers
- Twitter shoutouts
- An EQD blogpony chat for backers to join and bother us about things
- Editorial requests
- Cheap Fandom advertising section for commissions, Etsy shops, and other things (no licensees allowed - fans only)
A bunch of other ideas have popped up and left over time, and I'm still worried about doing anything annoying. If you have a recommendation, hit up the comments with it!
Hopefully we can get this going next month after tomorrow's CHAOS.

MLP: CCG fan Destiny Draw solved the secret code that was being slowly revealed on Enterplay's Facebook and Twitter, and the reward is the early release of information about two gameplay mechanics debuting in "Marks in Time," the new CCG set coming out in May.
The first of these reveals came today: it's Cutie Marking, which you can see above on cute little Rara and Derpy! They came along with this description:
"If a card can be Cutie Marked, you may pay 2 action tokens to do so, which also puts a +1 power counter on the card. As you can see on our two example cards here, getting a Cutie Mark can give a Friend a one-time effect or have further long-term impact on the game... and sometimes cards have both! Some of these abilities include stuff like gaining keywords, interacting with your opponent's cards, or even fiddling with Troublemakers and cards in hand."
There are more than 20 cards in Marks in Time related to Cutie Marking, so we'll definitely have more to look at as we get closer to release weekend. -

If you are still throwing money at the My Little Pony game, they have a new update for those that have already filled up Ponyville with stuff on the way. they haven't detailed how the expansion will work, but hopefully it's just additional squares to build on that don't cost insane amounts of something to aquire.

Not only is Snow Drop celebrating its third anniversary this year, but Children of the Night, the epic Luna animation by Duo Cartoonist, is celebrating its third anniversary as well! Even three years later Children of the Night is still mentioned by pony fans across the fandom becoming a mainstay as strong as JanAnimation's pieces.

Flurry Heart has created a lot of confusion on the origins of Alicorns. The season opener seemed to imply that she was the first pony to actually be born as one. We've had canon stating both that this state of pony evolution is earned on one end, and born into on the other.
Amy Keating Rogers (the writer behind the Journal of the Two Sisters) decided to clarify it for someone asking over on Twitter.

It's been a little more than a few days since the premiere and we finally have ratings for the first two episodes of season 6! With episode one netting 383,000 viewers and episode two bringing in 373,000 viewers it looks like people were pretty happy with the premiere, sticking around for both episodes.
Remember, Big Jim said ratings don't really effect FiM much so don't go nuts thinking the show is sinking.

It was with many a heavy heart that most of us learned that M.A. Larson would, indeed, not be writing for season six. The writer for the infamous Twilight Sprouts Extraneous Limbs and, more recently, The Adventures of the Background Six- among many, many others- Larson has been with the show for as long as anyone else.
Before all of that, though, we kindly (and by kindly, I mean publicly on Twitter in front of everyone) asked if he would be willing to do an interview with us. Many years passed, where we can only assume that brave, handsome man went off into the desert to fight a giant sand worm for taking his arm. Out of the blue, though, our email was returned to us, full of gifts, thoughts, retrospective, and tales of wonder.
Yep, we interviewed Larson. You should read it.
If ever you had a deep, burning question about his role as a writer for the show, or for his recent Pennyroyal Academy novels, or what he thinks about Derpy, this is the stop for you. He was very forthcoming with all of our questions, and for that I and everyone else on the team thanks him.
