We wondered if this was something we should post or not, but considering the early Friendship is Magic fandom pretty much arose out of the fires of the Comics and Cartoons board over there, I figured it might be worth mentioning. The founder of 4chan has decided to step down after eleven and a half years of heading it. Technically EQD was originally created in part due to the need for a site to collect all of the fan creations in the various threads that would eventually delete themselves.
4chan has always been a controversial subject in the world of the internet. An armada of 20 million monthly visitors with the ability to be completely anonymous will do that. Censoring only what is illegal tends to give people a lot of freedom to unwind and explode, and while some see that as a bad thing, quite a bit of good comes out of it as well. Being free to openly discuss things is valuable in a world that is slowly becoming more connected and less private. While most of these discussions do devolve into garbage, every once in a while something useful appears. While pony would have spread on it's own through sheer quality, there is no denying that it was one of those useful things, and was heavily accelerated because of it.
So, I salute Moot, and wish him well on whatever ideas he is looking to pursue. I can't imagine running 4chan would be easy with how many out there spend every waking moment looking to get it shut down.
Now back to regular pony stuff!

Earlier today Enterplay posted a video preview of one of the new lenticular cards featured in MLP Trading Cards Series 3!
Not sure what a "lenticular" card is? I didn't either until last year: it's those cool cards that are either 3D or have motion when you tilt them in different directions. In this case these lenticulars are of different iconic scenes from Friendship is Magic, like this one where Pinkie and Maud both express their epic levels of enthusiasm!
More details to come on how to get some of these sweet lenticulars. For now, be sure to check out the preview video! -

Less than 24 hours after the announcement of the series, the original cover art for all 5 Subscription Covers—and the 1:25 variant cover for issue #1 seen above—for Fiendship is Magic have been put up for sale!

Yesterday we had a new, potentially movie related Equestria Girls lineup appear over at Toy Fair 2015 in London, and today, we have an item that just might be involved in it with a brand new character. Zulilly is running a sale on pony merchandise, and mixed into their swarm of random items was the a sketch portfolio set with a brand new, bow wielding character.
Considering Applejack had a bow yesterday, and this new character joins Fluttershy and Twilight Sparkle with bows of their own, I think that may be the theme of the set. Perhaps "Friendship Games" is actually a PG version of the Hunger Games? We know Hasbro just loves banking on trends, and considering their girls Nerf bow is doing so well with Katniss Everdeen rockin it in the movies, it wouldn't be too far fetched to snag some of the spotlight.
Expect more Friendship Games coverage as it appears! But for now, feel free to brainstorm.

Guests for TrotCon are starting to roll in as the convention welcomes Heather Breckel for the third year running! If you're going to be at the convention I highly recommend getting one of her hand drawn sketches of the pony of your choice. She does great work!

That temporary poll had an interesting outcome. I'm curious, were you afraid that we would get burnt out on Luna if she had 13 episodes in a single season? Or are you banking on their being 14 more seasons for a Luna episode in each and didn't want to miss out on the potential for future moon? So many interesting possibilities. I personally fell into the same category as all of you, mainly due to option one. That's a lot of Luna in a short period. Even if we might only see 5 more Luna focused episodes across 5 more seasons before g5 begins, spreading the Luna is good.
Since that was technically a filler poll, and we have much more interesting things to poll after yesterday's FIENDship is Magic comic reveal, it's time to get a new one going!
