My Little Pony Website Drops a Bunch of Awesome Screenshots From the Movie!

The main My Little Pony website has uploaded a ton of screenshots from the movie. Some are from the trailer, others are brand new. Most of these focus on specific character highlights. We even got some Luna. I know I'm not the only one that likes her~

Some heavy Daybreaker-themed music from a new guy! Making good use of vocal samples from the show, there's also some cool sound design signature to the hybrid trap genre and the amount of switch-ups through the track helps to keep things fresh, with the second half of the track being my favourite. Twilight Day on August 6th!

With the ATG here and others things going on in my life I almost forgot Twilight Day was coming up and even sooner than I thought! Checking on the date for Friendship Day it appears to be on August 6th and not the 7th like our calendar says.

So you know what that means my friends: it's that time of year again to celebrate the Princess of Friendship herself, our dear Twilight Sparkle. If she never left Canterlot we wouldn't be on this wild ride.

As with all of these events that means we need your help so send in any Twilight related material to submit@equestriadaily.com with the subject header reading Twilight Day followed by whatever it is you're sending in.

Hong Kong Gets Pony Figures at McDonalds, and a Ridiculous Commercial

The McDonalds pony figures have migrated over to Hong Kong for this month with their usual Transformers counterparts. It looks like they got Rarity, Pinkie, Rainbow, and Twilight for their run.

Equestria Girls Mini Movie Theater Playset Now on Toys R' Us Website

The Equestria Girls Mini set first shown at Toy Fair this year starring Juniper Montage has finally popped up on the Toys R' Us website. They even made her a really cute pony version for the box art.

Rainbow Dash's Swashbuckler Pirate Airship Appearing at Walmart

Walmart's exclusive set of pirate pony merchandise has started popping up in stores. So far we have one in Kingsman, Arizona, and one from an undisclosed location. Having checked a store over in Glendale, AZ earlier yesterday, I can confirm that this seems to only be certain stores so far as they didn't have any pirate ponies on the shelves yet. Either that or one of you came in and scooped em all up!

Newbie Artist Training Grounds VII: Day 3

Another day means another day of the ATG my friends! Over the past 24 hours I tasked you all with a prompt for some locomotive ponies and you all delivered marvelously. As of this writing we have 241 ponies to add to our new running total, bringing us up to 469 ponies altogether!

Now that we've gotten our ponies to stretch their legs a bit we can start easing into more complex prompts that will give you chances to try out more postures, expressions, and settings! That's why for today our prompt will be: Draw a pony warming up / Draw a pony stretching its limits.

Equestria Girls Summertime Shorts Are Out! Stream Links

As promised, the Summertime Shorts from Equestria Girls have officially aired on Discovery Family. These are completely different from the Movie Magic series that played last month, only appearing once in Russia. This is our English version.

Right now it's apparently making it's way to Dailymotion, but a Russian streaming site has a version up already. Head on down below for that, it seems to work well.

There's some terrific use of different costuming and stylistic vocals for each part, with Chrysalis' part being a lot more dark and operatic, compared to the high and bright part from Cadance. Hasbro Releases New Videos in Celebration of Friendship Day!

In honor of International Friendship Day, Hasbro—in collaboration with SoulPancake and Grey New York—has released not on but two, "My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic" themed videos which focus on real friendships from around the world.

Another month has come and gone! Pretty soon we'll be wrapping up 2017 and onto 2018 my friends. As we enjoy the last weekend of July how about we enjoy some streams as well?

Animatronic Twilight Sparkle's Lines - Including Sea Pony Song And Other Movie Stuff

The Animatronic Twilight Sparkle toy has started flooding stores, and with it comes a bunch of Youtube channels grabbing her to record the lines and review. Apparently she's not too careful with spoilers on the upcoming movie, as she says quite a bit about Storm King, Tempest Shadow, and a few others.

Along with that, she does a song she learned from the Sea Ponies, or at least part of the song.

(Rumor) Tempest Shadow Heading to Build-A-Bear

We've had a few people now report from their ventures over to Build-A-Bear that employees are saying Tempest Shadow will be one of the next new ones you can have made. With how much they seem to be pushing her and Songbird across the various merchandise lines, it really isn't too surprising.

Unfortunately we can't seem to get any real confirmation on this yet, but keep an ear out if you do make the trip to one of the stores.

Newbie Artist Training Grounds VII: Day 2

Crazy to think our first day has already drawn to a close! As always I am impressed with the range of creativity you guys are able to express from simple poses, bipedal poses, and ponies striking posing models you guys still impress! Today we managed to rack up a total of 228 ponies, which isn't too bad for announcing the ATG on such short notice. (I'll be adding more as they come in)

Now that you've dusted off your pen and paper (or tablet as one artist mentioned) we're going to dive right into our next prompt: Draw a pony in motion / Draw a pony in need of direction. Let's get our ponies moving a bit!

Discovery Family Airing Equestria Girls Specials, Plus Bonus Music Video Tomorrow

An announcement sent over the Discovery Family Twitter has revealed a "Summer Shorts" event tomorrow night after Garfield Airs. The Equestria Girls shorts are going to play, followed by a "never before seen music video". I don't know if that will be including a new song, or if it's just a PMV, but it's notable and we will keep an eye out for it!

GhostXb is really getting good at this hip hop-influenced orchestral style, and this is certainly his best track of that nature yet! The song tells the tale of Sunset struggling with her emotions whilst transitioning from foe to friend to the Mane 6. Check it out below!

Hasbro Running Global International Friendship Day Events on the 30th of July

July 30th marks the official holiday of International Friendship Day, and as usual Hasbro will be running a bunch of events around the world to celebrate the occasion. Some takeaways from the presser:

• A week long mane 6 snapchat filter with sounds and effects, including an Equestria background when the camera is flipped and the rear lense is used
• Friendship day events in United States are at Mall of America
• Italy, Singapore, and Taiwan get friendship runs
• Brazil has a friendship bus and will celebrate Dia Da Amizade
• United Kingdom will have buy one give one promotions in partnership with local charity and BFF accessories.
• Russia and Mexico are listed, but don't have details 
• The toy line officially releases on this day

Parts of Sia's Song from Songbird Toy Posted on Twitter

Not long ago we posted about the massive influx of movie toys hitting stores, one of them being the Songbird Serenade toy that could sing. Since then someone has found one of these toys and has gotten a chance to try it out in the store.

It appears to be that the toy sings parts of what I can only assume to be the song Songbird will sing during the movie! It's a little hard to hear and not the best quality as it is coming from a toy, but it's a first look at what to possibly expect from Sia's song in the movie.

Tempest Shadow Plushie up for Pre-order on Entertainment Earth

Tempest Shadow has now been listed over on Entertainment Earth for pre-order. They list the release date as August 2017, so hopefully that means she's out with the rest of the toys dropping next week.

Storm King Now on Sale on Amazon

For anyone out there looking to pick up the new Storm King Guardians of Harmony figure, it looks like he's finally listed on Amazon to purchase. Unfortunately it looks like all the cheap ones are gone, but a scalper still has it available for the crazy price of 88 bucks.

Hopefully this means stock will return, so keep an eye out! We will get an update if it does.

Newbie Artist Training Grounds VII: Day 1

Here we are once again my friends! It's time for another Newbie Artist Training Grounds and I hope you all are as excited as I am about tackling a whole month filled with challenges and awesome artwork. The training grounds have helped many different people from around the fandom discover their love of art or at the very least shown them that with a little practice and effort they too can draw!

As in past years of the ATG, this event is about fun, learning, and pushing yourself to try and do something you didn't think you could before! Being involved in so many of these I know that those who participate (even if only for a few days) will find something they can take away from this event and I believe in every one of you who decides to draw with us over these next 30 days.

So are you guys excited and ready to get started? Well, first off, if you're still new to the training grounds or need a small refresher, please check our post from earlier this week containing details on what the ATG is all about. You can find it here.

For those of you who are ready to get started, here we go! For your very first assignment we have a classic we've opened every single ATG with, with the usual slight variation: Draw a pony standing / Draw a pony striking a pose.

The submission page itself can be found here! If you want some tips on how to draw check out our tutorial page which you can find here.

You can submit up to three pieces of artwork per prompt! Prompts end in roughly 24 hours so submissions will close between 12am-3am July 30th for this prompt.

People of all skills levels are welcome!
