Massive BronyCon Room Block - Openings Still Available!

With less than two months to go until BronyCon 2015 descends upon us, there's still time to score a nifty deal on a Thursday-Monday stay! A hotel block hosted by Fisherpon still has a bunch of openings for four-people rooms at a per-person rate of $56/night, or $225 for the weekend at the Holiday Inn Inner Harbor, which some preliminary Kayaking will tell you is a competitive rate. The location's definitely one of the nicer con commutes you could make, and if you're attending as part of a significantly larger group, this is the best way to ensure y'all get roomed close to one another.

Lamenting aside, we have a Single Panel Out of Context Sneak Peek from Brenda Hickey on our hands here! It is quite possibly the most unexpected…thing to come out of IDW MLP Comic line to date.

Artisan Pony Crafts Compilation #66

Stained glass is pretty amazing and pretty difficult to work with from what I've seen of the craft! To get something this detailed done in glass must have taken forever.

Ah, apparently this is a print ONTO glass and not traditional stained glass. I had no idea you could do that. Pretty dang amazing though! Sorry for the confusion guys!

Sorry for the lack of crafts lately guys, but that just means be prepared for a ton in today's compilation!

Brenda Hickey, MLP Comic Artist and all around wonderful person (if you don't believe me spend 5 minutes chatting with her in person), tossed up the above picture on her Instagram page. Normally, comic artists/writers/colorists getting comp copies of the issue isn't particularly news worthy. It's just one of the few and small perks of making a living in that particular field.

BUT, it is news worthy when the photo of comp copies arriving includes a never before seen cover to a trade paperback that will be released tomorrow!

There is only one convention this cover could possibly be for. However, since IDW hasn't posted their list of SDCC Exclusives yet making that assumption is pure speculation.

Excuse me, I need to go start badgering Seth with an ever growing shopping list on a completely unrelated matter.

I'd grab a picture of an Equestria Girls doll, but Special Agent Sweetie Drops snuck in and left a bunch of pictures of her instead. Something about Lyra getting all the love these past 5 years and her needing some attention.

It looks like we are, in fact, NOT the target audience for Equestria Girls. We like the movies, but when it comes to buying dolls, a measly 8% of us are involved. As far as I know, that's the real money maker for the entire concept.

Giant Inflatable Fluttershy and Gilda Appears

While some of their previous designs were a bit... odd to say the least, a random Chinese manufacturer has created two surprisingly good looking giant inflatable FiM characters. Both Fluttershy and Gilda have received the "new" treatment.

As is the norm for this pirate style merchandise, expect to find them floating around eBay, along with seedy 3rd party retailers some time in the future.

Slice Of Life TV Ratings Arrive - The Two Week Break Hurt

Ratings for Slice of Live have been released over on TV Media Insights. There was a pretty big dip for how much hype the episode had, but that may be due to the fact that we had a two week break before it actually aired. Previous episodes have suffered from just one week of silence.

All in all, it hit 431,000 viewers, compared to 594,000 from Griffonstone. If we compare it to Appleoosa's Most Wanted though, which also had a break, it did much better than the 307,000 that one garnered.

I'm kind of mixed on breaks. On one hand, it will make the overall season last longer. On the other, it's so painful. Here's to hoping we can find a healthy balance!
