Where were you back during the great purge of NSFW accounts on Tumblr back in the day? Hopefully that taught these companies not to mess with people's livelihoods so carelessly. A lot of artists were screwed by this change, and Tumblr is basically dead thanks to it.

Today Tumblr officially announced that it would be banning ALL explicit content. This targeted most artists in the fandom, as making a career out of drawing cartoon horses for people on the internet usually requires taking those lucrative NSFW commissions.
Needless to say, it was all out panic. Twitter has become the home of just about all of them these days. Hopefully Elon doesn't drop a NSFW ban bomb on everyone like Tumblr did. Bluesky seems promising, but I doubt many people want to do another complete rebuild of their communities.
