Did you know that the fandom wasn't entirely sure if Smolder was a girl or a boy when she was first revealed? Fascinating. We also had some crazy foot, and PMV's made their big boom phase in 2011.

2011
Early PMV's were simple, short, and ridiculously popular. It was a brand new era and anyone with the ability to put a song to a pony clip was king.
2012
Going along with PMV, we had the rise of the YTMPV era, where a few specific vocal clips from the show were warped into all sorts of songs. These days Tridashie takes this to a completely different level, but back in the day it was pretty ground breaking.
We also had a shot of Blueblood as an alicorn foal. Did he chop his wings off?! We never found out.
2013
Fighting is Magic announced their C&D from Hasbro today, killing the project and causing the team to group up with Lauren Faust to create Them's Fightin' Herds. Needless to say, the fandom was not happy.
And Games Ponies Play released as well! So there was some positive I guess?
2014
The rise of cereal shirts from sites that ran temporary sales for merchandise they definitely didn't buy the license for was interesting. I wonder how many of you still own these?

Discovery Family released their highlights for March, and among these was a nice tidbit of information: Season 8 will premiere on March 24, 2018! Only a month and a half of hiatus left!

We confirmed that Smolder is a female! And season 8 got a confirmed release date.
