Whirlwind expressed a pony dream he had in musical form once more after Flight, and in that dream he was exploring gem mines along Rarity, so a fitting Ambient piece resulted from all that awesome experience and inspiration! Wind from the depths can almost be felt here as we venture deeper and deeper in the cave, accompanied by both the music and Rarity. The soundscape is painting the landscape of the cave, also suggested by the video art, and this was definitely an awesome initiative!

So as it is Derpy Day, I am sad to not have an EqG short that shows her many and wonderful quirks and personality. With her love of archery, boating, saw playing, and baked goods, she is the Waldo we love to talk about when finding our background characters. If I can say what character makes the fandom, it would be Derpy aka “Muffins”. She was one animation error from being just another background character that we would give a fandom name and backstory to, but her character grew into something more. Sweet, endearing and adorably clumsy, she became the mail carrier we wished we could’ve had (ok maybe not only because of what a train wreck Grumpy and Matilda’s wedding started out as). Unfortunately that love didn’t translate fast enough to EqG because we don’t really have a Derpy related short or music video. Instead, I’ll try something different (since this title is different anyway). And this is only my list so it’s not set in stone or in any particular order so be sure to comment your favorite human Derpy moments.

Out of all the characters in the show, Derpy is probably the most unique I would argue. From very humble beginnings as a background character that was never meant to be included in the shot she was seen in her popularity exploded as she became the first background character we latched onto. Over the course of season 1 a lot of the traits we see in the picture above began to be accepted into fanon lore for Derpy, particularly that she was a mail mare and she loved muffins.Over the course of the show she became more than just an easter egg getting her first voice-acted appearance in season 2 (which led to Derpygate), having an important role in episode 100, and even appearances in the MLP Movie. And she was a character we as a fandom essentially created from a blank slate, that is truly something special.So what do you guys think? What do you think of Derpy's progression over the show's history? If Derpy could have had more time in the spotlight what episodes would you have liked her to have?
