We have a minor update here for those following Ari, the 7 year old who learned to love pony all on his own. Apparently Hasbro sent over some toys for the family to celebrate with. We can call that a success. The full, albeit short article can be found over here. -
Another week, another fanfic event. Fourty Four of you entered this one, even without the incredible influence of Flutterbat to guide your typing fingers. Hopefully you all had fun once again! Nothing influences the writing more than a good ol' mass event.
If your fanfic didn't make it, and you missed the announcement a few days ago asking for a resubmit, feel free to send it next week instead! We had some issues with our compiler for the first day and a half or so.

A bunch of these red packets have popped up primarily over in Malaysia (and China Town in San Francisco) due to the Chinese New Year. Apparently they are filled with money and given to unmarried people and children by married couples. A company called Hyaji produces them, though chances are they are just the usual pirate merchandise. Still really cool! I wouldn't mind grabbing a set. thanks to Daniel, Derek, and Charlie for the heads up!

It's funny, I actually have to Google "wingless Twilight" now for images like this. Lets go back in time during season 3, before the big finale where she sprouts wings and gains a crown. It's obvious purplesmart is going to evolve in some way, but lets pretend for a moment that that way wasn't alicorndom or princesshood. What destiny would you choose for the pony that doesn't evolve these two things? Would she become the greatest Astronomer in Equestria? Or maybe she gave up a life of books entirely to join Pinkie Pie in partying 24/7?
The choice is entirely up to you! Give Twilight a new DESTINY!

Ponies have invaded yet another oldschool game, this time centering around Megaman 3 for the NES. Each of the final bosses is now a pony, with Twilight Sparkle as the main character and loads of sprites replaced with things like Changelings and the like.
As with all rom mods, this will require a program to play it, either on your phone or your PC. Once you have acquired that though, get the mod over here! You can also find a readme over here if you need some assistance, and the main project here. If you go that route though, expect the DL link to be a bit more complicated.

It is once again that time of year for the shorty award event. So far it looks like the usual stuff is nominated, with amazing things like Justin Beiber currently dominating. Are you all going to allow that to happen? The Beliebers beat EQD last year. We may be the underdog by around 200 million, but we must try!
Some important notes before you go vote, or it wont work:
- Use an older Twitter account. While it wasn't proven last year, it didn't look like new account votes were working. This could have changed.
- Make sure you click the right category in the dropdown (Fansite for EQD, Music of Daniel Ingram, ect.)
- Write in a reason after "because..." in the box under the @username of the person/thing you are voting for or it won't count. (Update: You might need to drop something longer here, not just "Ponies".)
- (Update 2: You may need to actually sign into their website and use their template for votes to count, either that or this is totally broken
