Tumblr Spotlight: Ask Scoota-bot / Ask Frigid Drift / Partners in Physical Injury

Super Smash Ponies - Music and Gameplay

The team behind Super Smash Ponies is hard at work trying to emulate the style of the incredibly popular Smash Brothers series, and included in that mix is the music! Some of the more well known orchestral musicians in the fandom have been brought on to pull it off, and both Twilight Sparkle and Rarity already have themes.

On top of that, they have a short gameplay video showing off advanced techniques, including frame cancels and the usual combo system.  Head on down past the break for everything!

Wonderbolt Blindbag Single at Hot Topic, Scratch Case back in Stock

The "gray" wave Wonderbolt blindbag has popped up over on Hot Topic.  It's pretty pricey at $5.50, so it might be best to wait on the actual box set to release, but if you can't wait, you can pick up the specific pony here!

And on the card side of the spectrum, the Vinyl Scratch box is back in stock for those that couldn't pick one up during the first wave.

Story: As the Sun Sets (Update Part 5!)

Description: When Twilight is given the opportunity to travel with Princess Celestia on what appears to be a regular dignitary’s trip to see the dragons, she’s ecstatic. After all, nopony has seen the dragon kingdom in over a hundred years.

But they are not alone on the journey; there are rumours being carried on the wind, hushed whispers of something stirring in the east...

Their presence reignites an ancient chain of events that will see Twilight racing for help in the darkest places on earth and the princess struggling to reconcile her role in the world, surrounded on all sides by enemies she thought defeated millennia ago.

(Updated) A Grey Muffin Related Pony Possibly on the Way?

A few hours ago, someone in the submit box going by the name of Thaius sent over a short bit of information from SacAnime.  Apparently they talked to Grey DeLisle (voice actress of Azula from Avatar: The Last Airbender) about a twitter message she sent out a while back where she teased that she would be voicing "a grey pony".  This lead to an autographed laptop, with "a line that the pony would say".  And the line? "Muffins". 

Now you may have noticed the dancing Twilight a few minutes ago.  Our blog intern for life and resident Azula fanboy PK, decided to bug her via direct message on twitter for confirmation (character cap and internet term abbreviations included), and the above was the response.   Either she's trollier than Tara Strong, or we may be seeing some muffins and muffin related grey ponies in a future season.  Obviously it's not 100% confirmation on anything, but it's fun to dream right?

So dance away Twilight Sparkle! 

(Update: This has been confirmed to be a fan Project! I'm still interested in seeing it though! Not a lot of those end up with industry voice actors.)

Nightly Roundup #546

Everytime I see paper lanterns I think of that one scene from Tangled where the sky is filled with nothing but the beautiful little things. Considering Rarity's skill with the arts, I think she would make beautiful lanterns.
