Psst. Hey. Hey you. Over there in the back. Yes, you, with the hat. You wanna be in a band? What about the rest of you? Awesome! I like to see initiative. Well, guess what? Meghan McCarthy has a spot open for you in her band. Yes, that Meghan McCarthy. The one who writes episodes of Friendship is Magic. She's got a dream, of creating a song and bringing people of all different talents and lifestyles together to play it. And this is awesome, so we're going to help her.
Here's how this works. Meghan has already put together some lyrics, which you can read right here. What it needs right now is a melody, so if you're inspired and so inclined you should whip one up and record the first verse and the chorus and send that in to her soundcloud at http://soundcloud.com/band-of-bronies
You'll have until Wednesday, June 27 at 8 PM, Pacific Time (UTC -8:00) to get that in. Don't worry about being perfect; we're painting in broad strokes right now. After that, we'll get a poll going for everyone to decide which of the submitted melodies they think works best for the song. Once we have that, Meghan will take the winning melody and hand it off to, "someone much more musically inclined than [she] is" (or me, for that matter) to get a piano and vocal track together for everyone to listen to.
Then the real fun begins! Once we've got that track, it'll be up to every last one of you with a voice, violin, tuba, tuna fish, or dream and a pocketful of stardust to record your contribution and send it in. If you're absolutely convinced of you're total lack of talent, there's also going to be a chance to shout "love and tolerate", so don't hang back for fear you'll harm the project. We want this to be the biggest band ever! So as soon as we give the green light, get to singing, playing, clapping, and any other way you can think of to add your own sound to the piece! The final product will be used to raise money for charity, and I think that's something we could all use a little more of in our lives.

It finally happened. For a while now, the star ratings on EQD have been unhappy with the way we run things. About three weeks ago, we had to lock Luna up after she leveled half of Ponyville when her level 60 hardcore mode character in Diablo was killed by an internet connection issue. Her account has since been sold on Ebay. The stars didn't like this... at all. They absolutely refuse to work with us, and have since gone off to release Luna with her computer and brand new Diablo account in tow. It's only a matter of time before she loses it again. Hardcore characters are meant to die eventually Luna! We explained this!
All of the fanfics go through a strict check via the pre-readers before they ever even touch EQD (Minus story updates, those are quickly checked and move on), so the ratings for those have been completely pointless for a while. The last round of 80 stories I tagged were pretty much all 5 star minus the ones that got bombed.
We have hired Lyra to work on a thumb system, though for those of you that read, we might just roll with a "give it a x/5 in the comments". Try it out! Toss some critique in comments, they always appreciate it.
Anyway, back to trying to avert the next ponypocalypse! Twilight Sparkle has already prepared a megaspell to launch into space before they reach the moon. Hopefully this entire crisis can be averted! -

Lots of the fun in writing these cards came from trying to make the product work for the "target audience" and bronies alike. And what's one thing everyone loves? References, and Angel's card is a great example! In less than 500 characters we managed to give a quick description of who Angel is while also sprinkling in specific references to lines in May the Best Pet Win, Hurricane Fluttershy, and A Bird in the Hoof. Keep an eye out for plenty of such references throughout the set!
